The world has turned into Hell's Game, why should I stay human?!

Chapter 30: Chapter 30: How to Match a Pair of Aces with a Flush

"Human, I will definitely devour you."

Eel Head stared at Liu Zheng, pronouncing each word deliberately.

"Then go take a number, there's a whole lot of things that want to eat me. Deal the cards, deal the cards."

Liu Zheng aimed for two seconds, and a red chip landed precisely within the Succubus Croupier's tangent circle.

"Hey you, get this gentleman a 'Pink Furry Bunny'."

The Succubus Croupier did not deal the cards immediately but called over the passing Jellyfish Waiter instead.

"Handsome, this drink's on me, okay?"

She threw him a seductive wink.

In the slightly yellow beer, a pink bunny with half its skin peeled off bobbed up and down.

Red blood oozed out slowly, but it was immediately absorbed and assimilated by the beer.

"Not bad at all."

Liu Zheng took a big gulp with a show of ostentation.

"Burp."

The Succubus Croupier then shuffled a new deck of poker cards and started dealing.

The pattern on the back of this deck was different from the previous one.

The previous deck featured a huge withered tree, this one a bloody Upper Moon.

Liu Zheng picked up his hole cards, shielding them from Niu Ma's view with his hand.

"Another pair of Aces, sigh."

He laid down the hole cards and sighed.

"Again?! I don't even have to look to know you don't have a pair of Aces."

Niu Ma's forehead throbbed with pulsating veins.

He felt this kid had become unsettled ever since entering the black market.

"If I have a pair of Aces, you eat this table."

Liu Zheng said angrily.

"If you don't have a pair of Aces, you eat this cup."

Niu Ma retorted without showing any weakness.

"Come on then."

He started to flip the hole cards over.

"Handsome, revealing your cards now counts as a loss, you know?"

The Succubus Croupier reminded him.

"Hmph, consider yourself lucky."

Liu Zheng released his tentacles.

"Putting on airs."

Niu Ma gave a huge eye roll.

"Is the casino just going to watch them mess around like this?"

A gambler with a head like a screw complained discontentedly.

"This is not prohibited, you know?"

The Succubus Croupier said with a smile creasing her face.

"Hmph. I raise."

Screw Head glanced at his hole cards and tossed out two red chips.

"I'll call."

"I'll call."

"I'll call."

...

No one folded this time, all gamblers chose to call.

"You dare to call with just a pair of Aces, do you even know how to play poker?"

Liu Zheng grumbled unhappily.

"If they still believed you had a pair of Aces, that would truly mean they don't know how to play."

Niu Ma said darkly from the side.

"Whose side are you on exactly?"

He glared at Niu Ma.

"You're amazing when you win."

Niu Ma shut his mouth.

Three community cards were dealt: a diamond Queen, a diamond Eight, and a diamond Five.

"I raise."

The gambler in the small blind seat said anxiously.

It resembled a fermented dough, puffing up like it was being heated whenever it spoke.

Its chubby little hands pushed forward, betting a black chip.

Liu Zheng felt hunger at the sight.

"I have triple Queens, you dare to call?"

The dough provocatively challenged him.

"You think I'm afraid of your triple Queens with my flush? I raise."

Liu Zheng licked his healing mouthparts and threw out two black chips.

"Weren't you supposed to have a pair of Aces? How you getting a flush now?"

Niu Ma was taken aback.

"Mind your own business, can't I have two diamond Aces?"

He rolled his eyes.

"Fine, fine, fine."

Niu Ma conceded.

"I'll call."

"I fold."

"I'll call."

"I fold."

Two other players chose to call, including Eel Head.

"I've got the real flush. You, just wait to die."

It said slowly.

"If you can't speak, don't try– learning sign language would be less embarrassing."

Liu Zheng mocked.

"Die!"

Eel Head was furious.

Its slender neck suddenly shot out, biting towards his head like lightning.

"Pretty fast, huh!"

Liu Zheng's eyes narrowed slightly.

He hadn't expected Eel Head to be so powerful, its speed almost matching the security of Mad City's Green Lychee.

But he was no longer the human who could be slaughtered at will.

He raised a tentacle to block, but someone was faster than him.

Niu Ma rose to his feet, his iron hooves pounding like drums.

Eel Head was stomped under Niu Ma's hooves, like a venomous snake subdued by a divine bull.

"Don't act like I'm not here."

Niu Ma said with ease.

Eel Head tried to bite at its ankle but couldn't even puncture the fur.

The bloody employee of the year, three times over, wasn't an easy title to hold.

"No fighting, or I'll call security," the Succubus Croupier interjected just in time.

A chilling gaze passed over him, and Liu Zheng couldn't help but shiver.

He looked over and in the corner, a man with a cowboy hat was flipping a coin.

His left hand rested on his waist, holding an unusually large revolver.

No one doubted that bullets from that gun could shatter anyone's skull.

"Just livening up the mood, Niu Ma, let it go,"

Liu Zheng said indifferently.

"You won't even call me 'boss'."

Niu Ma pursed his lips but lifted his hoof anyway.

Eel Head quickly retracted, even bouncing a few times.

It glared hatefully at Liu Zheng but ignored Niu Ma.

"Deal the cards, deal the cards," the Dough urged.

It didn't care about their grudges; it just wanted to win money.

The Succubus Croupier dealt the fourth community card, the eight of clubs.

"Hahaha."

The Dough let out a laugh like the venting of a pressure cooker, its surface bulging.

"Let's see if you dare to follow this."

It threw out five black chips.

"You think your full house beats my four aces? Fat chance, you're dead in the water."

Liu Zheng tossed out ten black chips without hesitation.

"There's not even a single ace on the table, how the hell do you have four aces?"

Niu Ma felt like he was going crazy.

"Shut up if you don't understand. Hey you, give me another..."

Liu Zheng suddenly closed his mouth.

He was staring intently at a waiter with a bat head.

It was holding a little girl with curled hair upside down.

Dull, lifeless eyes, skin purple as if bruised.

Indeed, she must be dead.

After all, if she was alive, why wouldn't she cry?

"Don't do anything rash, kid."

Niu Ma's hoof quietly rested on his shoulder.

"That's just how this world is, you've eaten crocodile meat in your staff meals too."

"Then why don't you eat those canned beef and horse meat?"

Liu Zheng retorted.

"I just don't eat it, but I can't save them either,"

Niu Ma said calmly.

"Oynk was so powerful, and all it could do was burn down that pig farm. It destroyed half a restaurant and still ended up hiding in the black market."

"You want to survive, don't you? Then live, for starters."

It patted Liu Zheng's shoulder.

"Hey, you, I'll take that,"

Liu Zheng said after a moment of silence, then raised his voice.

"Sorry, sir, that's ordered by a customer at that table,"

the bat-headed waiter replied politely.

"I'll pay more."

"It's not a matter of money,"

the bat-headed waiter shook his head.

"Hey, how about you let me have that?"

Liu Zheng grabbed two black chips and tossed them towards the indicated customer.

A crocodile with a nest-like hairstyle.

The chips traced a beautiful arc, landing in the center of the nest.

The crocodile slowly looked up, then sluggishly reached for the chips with its short little hand.

Looking at Liu Zheng and then at Niu Ma, it slowly nodded.

"Now, can you give it to me?"

Liu Zheng asked.

"Alright, she's yours now. Would you like it processed? We offer steamed, braised in brown sauce, or claypot rice options."

the bat-headed waiter inquired.

"Just give me a takeaway box."
