The World Needs War

Chapter 14: Three Days

I had indeed been caught by a mage the very fact that they had trapped me in some fire prison was proof enough.

The multiple fire columns that surrounded me stopped me from escaping or helping any of my frien-..my acquaintances.

Swinging my sword without any care I tried to cut through the flames - a dumb idea, I know- but to no avail.

Standing within the confinements of fire prison I could hear the clashing of the few students who were left and the crackling of the fire which sparked dangerously close.

Then an idea, not a dumb one this time, popped into my head. Why don't I use my anti-magic to get rid of the fire that was conjured through magic.

Placing my hand slightly in front of me I closed my eyes and prepared to use anti-magic. There was only one problem, I'd never even attempted to use magic so how would I know how to use anti-magic either.

"I'll just feel for it, I guess." I mumbled.

After a few seconds I felt the heat of the fire disappear and once I opened my eyes I could see a dark purple and black energy on the tiny flames as if they were eating them.

So that's anti-magic. It kind of just appeared from nowhere after I tried to use it.

The fires had been completely overpowered by my anti-magic already so I started to look around me to see how everyone else was fairing in their fights.

Before I could spot any of the others a bright light shone throughout the Coliseum ground and enveloped everything before a huge explosion-like sound was heard.

--7 people remaining--

--3 people remaining--

"Huh."

The bright light had blinded me for a few moments and I only heard the wrist watches sounds before I was finally able to open my eyes again.

Gazing in front of me I saw two people wearing bright red shirts and both carrying swords in their hands.

"What in the world happened while I was away for only a few seconds."

"Look, look. The last one's right here." one of the two boys holding the swords said.

"Ah. A lucky catch. This one happens to be the one they're after, you know how much we cash in if we got rid of this pest here and now. It'd be a lot." The other boy with the red shirt, signifying his status as a fifth year, said.

"Look where we're at though, we can't do it here." The first boy said.

"Yea,yea. you're right." He said before he raised his hand in such a quick motion I couldn't react.

The hand the fifth year used to attack, struck me on the side of the head and instantly eliminated me.

Although it was stated that all students were participating in the Coliseum that just isn't true because some of the more powerful fifth year and the most power fourth years aren't allowed in or the competition would be a competition at all.

To put it simply if the much more powerful students were allowed in there would be no fun i'd just be a slaughter(not literally) so when I was easily beaten by these fifth year students I was a little surprised at how powerful they were.

In the end one of those fifth years named James Orvan won and in second was the other fifth year named Fred...something something.

It was the morning to the next day and I had completely forgot to do anything except fall into my bed after the Coliseum battle.

"They sound like they were crazy anyway, I mean who would be after me and why would they be in the first place." I thought aloud.

[ --Guide-- Skills: Beyond Existence(T) , Bonding Touch(U) , Bite of Blood(Tr) , Architect's Eyes(U) have all awoken. --Guide-- ]

"I don't know." Zenith answered my thoughts I had spoken aloud.

When the MC is thinking I will be using ' from now on.

And <,> when he's speaking.

'What is this thing?'

A blue screen had appeared in front of me and it displayed the words Guide at the very top left and right corner of the screen with the words skills in the center as it then listed four names to skills I had.

"Hey Zenith, do you know anything about the Guide?" I asked whilst I swiped at the floating blue screen that didn't disappear no matter what I did.

"The Guide is the thing that informs you when you obtain a new skill and is something that will tell you the pros and cons of magic items and it will sometimes give you knowledge about the world, but it's a double edged sword." Zenith then continued on with saying:

"People who rely too much on the Guide for the knowledge it gives about the world can also lose their bodies to the Guide and they will never get their body back." Zenith said.

"It's still reliable though." She ended off with that.

'What another weird thing.'

< Calling something you haven't even got to know weird is quite insulting, you know. >

'You can hear what i'm thinking.'

< Of course I can. I'm a part of you now. >

'Huh.'

< I'm one of your skills, Beyond Existence. No, I can't harm anyone. I am a skill that exists of my own accord and I'm a skill which will be of the utmost importance. >

'How exactly will you be important if you can't harm anything.'

< I am a skill of unfathomable knowledge that ,differently from the Guide, comes at no expense and I can calculate anything you want. >

'So you're a gloried mathematician that knows everything there is to know.'

< Not exactly but I guess so. >

< My value will be shown later since currently nothing of importance is taking place, after all you're not being hunted yet, are you. >

'Why would I be getting hunted? Those fifth years were saying something similar but I don't understand why I'd be getting hunted.'

< The Holy Sanction, the most powerful and largest kingdom that worships god and believes he created magic, but on the other side of the coin it believes the Devil created anti-magic in direct opposition to god so if anyone has a high/mediocre of an talent for anti-magic the Holy Sanction will get rid of them. That's the simple way to explain it. >

< I short someone like you who has a beyond extremely high talent for anti-magic isn't just a heretic in the eyes of the Holy Sanction but a child of the Devil, meaning they'll do anything to get rid of you. >

'What yo're saying is I'm about to be hunted just because I have a talent for something they dislike.'

< Yea. They'll also go beyond just hunting you as well, they'll frame you for every little thing until you die and anyone who helps you will immediately turn their enemy with you. and who'd want to be an enemy of an entire nation, let alone the strongest one. Hint, no one would. >

'So i'll be hunted and probably framed with no one to help me and i'll die.'

< Yep. >

< But that's only what's most likely to come, after all with you nothing is set in stone. >

'You say that as if their hunt for me hasn't already begun.'

'Huh.'

< The Holy Sanction is across the ocean so it'll take around three days for them to send their assassins after you. >

'Three days of peace.'

'Three days until their arrival.'

'Three days'
