The Wrong Number Of Love

Chapter 28: CHAPTER 6: The Set Back

Their project took a chaotic turn when they decided to photograph the school assembly. It was the perfect opportunity to capture candid moments of students being themselves.

Ella positioned herself near the back, her camera poised. Noah, however, had other ideas.

"Trust me," he whispered, leaning toward her. "I'm about to get the best reaction shot."

"What are you—" Ella started, but Noah was already on the move.

He climbed onto the stage during the principal's speech, holding a sign that read: "Life's too short to stay serious."

The entire auditorium erupted into laughter, and Ella instinctively snapped a picture of the principal's shocked expression.

"Noah!" she hissed as he ran back to her, his grin stretching ear to ear.

"Relax," he said, sliding into the seat next to her. "That was comedy gold. Admit it."

Ella couldn't deny that the photo was perfect—raw, hilarious, and exactly what their project needed.

Just when it seemed like everything was falling into place, disaster struck.

Ella was reviewing the photos one evening when her camera suddenly froze. She tried turning it off and back on, but the screen remained black.

"No, no, no," she whispered, her heart pounding.

When Noah arrived at her house for their usual meeting, she was sitting on the couch, staring blankly at the broken camera.

"What happened?" he asked, concern replacing his usual playful tone.

"It's dead," Ella said miserably. "All the photos are gone."

Noah sat beside her, silent for a moment. Then he said, "We'll figure it out."

"How?" Ella asked, her voice cracking. "That camera had everything. Without it, we're screwed."

Noah rested a hand on her shoulder. "We've still got time. We can reshoot. And hey, I'll help. Think of it as a chance to make the project even better."

Ella looked at him, surprised by his optimism. "You really think we can pull it off?"

"I know we can," Noah said confidently.

The next few days were a whirlwind of activity. Noah rallied a group of friends to help recreate some of the scenes they'd lost. They worked long hours, often skipping lunch and staying up late to review their progress.

Noah's humor kept the mood light, even when things went wrong. When a sudden gust of wind knocked over their props during a park shoot, he turned it into an impromptu comedy act, making everyone laugh.

Despite the setbacks, Ella began to realize something: she was having fun. For the first time in months, she wasn't just going through the motions—she was genuinely enjoying herself.
