Chapter 11: Her system has a temper
With the urging of the system, Alix went to the nearest ATM first and checked the balance on the card which Caishen had given her. The balance she saw was enough to make her jaw drop.
"Six million." she gasped.
It was absurd but she counted the figures of her fingers, one to six and then she looked again, to make sure that her eyes did not deceive her.
In perspective, Caishen could afford to give six million because of his wealth but to Alix, this was more money than she had ever seen.
"I told you to marry him, see, your life has changed." The system bragged.
Alix closed her eyes, and kissed the bank card as she laughed manically. She laughed so much tears came from her eyes and she actually started to sound a bit insane.
"Lin Billi, oh Lin Billi, thank you so much you dimwit." she said, as she wiped the tears away from her cheek.
"You should thank him and maybe next time he will give you double the amount." The system suggested.
"Aren't you being too greedy?" she asked the system.
"There are ten levels in the game because it has ten worlds, items in each level become more expensive as the further you go. A cheap gamer is not a fun gamer." Th system said.
Alix frowned and the system giggled.
"Triple kill." she heard it say.
"Ho." she said. "You can even praise yourself in gaming terms."
She transferred half of the money to her account and the gaming system transferred away one million immediately.
There was no doubt in her mind, the system was quite greedy for money. When she took her phone out of her bag to send a thank you text to Caishen, it struck her that they had not exchanged numbers.
"I don't even have my own husband's phone number, how absurd." she muttered.
Thanking him again could wait, she would tell him at home, in person. Perhaps she would buy something, flowers, fruits anything to express her gratefulness.
She set off for the music school immediately, she had much to do before picking up her luggage from her old apartment.
Her reference to the music school as small was because it was exactly that; small. While it was registered as an institute, it could hardly be called that because she had only twenty eight students and two teachers.
The learning fee was cheap because she lacked a reputation in the music world and no music student with professional ambitions would choose her as their teacher.
Most of her students therefor were children of ages six to sixteen. The older ones who went to her school did so because they had no choice. She had only opened the school two years ago, and she was hopeful that it would take off. All she needed was a little luck, and a lot of talent.
When she got out of the taxi, Alix was assaulted by reporters immediately. They descended on her like vultures on fresh meat.
"Did you steal your sister's husband?"
"How long have you been a mistress?"
"How does it feel to be married to Beijing's former king?"
"Is Zhang Caishen truly crippled?"
She covered her eyes with her hands, blocking out the flashes which were almost blinding her.
Luckily, the security guards of the building came and pushed some of the reporters out of the way which enabled her to head inside.
When she was safely inside her music school, she went into her office and closed the door, breathing heavily. Some of her hair had been pulled, a part of her coat had been cut with something and her feet had dirt from being stepped on.
"Shit!!" she cursed unhappily. "Damn reporters." This was not the kind of fame she was seeking for, she wanted recognition for her talents in music, not this.
This would probably become another issue when she returned to the Zhang mansion in the evening. How had they even known that she was coming to the school?
She took a deep breath, in and out, calming all the agitation that she was feeling. Additionally, she got a bottle of water from her desk and took three big sips.
"I know something that can help you calm down." her system said.
"What?" she asked.
"Play the game." It yelled, the virtual screen even turned red.
"Oh my god, don't yell at me." she responded in shock.
For a system whose spokesperson was in the image of a blue haired little elf boy, it had quite the temper. Who knew what was laying beneath that adorable façade it was parading.
"I am playing, okay, calm down." She could play the game using her phone, so, she connected to the virtual world immediately.
The game started off from where she left, but this time, she did some shopping first.
Weapons, spells, healing potion, music instruments and a new outfit. She chose a white and blue dress, changed her hair to white and then went to retrieve the music scroll from where the town chief had sent her.
While she was playing the game, her secretary was next door, reimbursing some parents the money they had paid as tuition for their children.
Secretary Jin Kang, Alix's friend, confidant and also a part time teachers at the school sighed. They had twenty eight students and five had been lost in a few hours of opening.
"Madam, are you sure that you want to cancel Nian's classes? She has been making so much progress..."
"Don't waste our time." A thin woman with a mean face cut Jin Kang off and shouted loudly. "Our Nian's idol is miss Lin Billi, she is learning the piano to become as great as miss Billi. How can she study at the school of the woman who stole miss Billi's husband?"
The woman was supported by two other parents that were holding their children's hands and equally looking mean.
"Hmph, if I had known that she was a mistress I would not have had my daughter come here." one said.
"Yes," another agreed. "A woman with no morals, what can she possibly teach our children except bad things."
"I knew it was a mistake to bring my Nian to such a cheap school, I should have gritted my teeth and sent her to a real academy. Hurry up before I find a reason to sue you." the thin woman said hostilely to Jin Kang.
Jin Kang was angry, all of this was slander and she knew better than anyone that Lin Billi was the evil sister. How dare they make judgements basing off of some rumors on social media?
"Teacher Alix is not like that, parents, please don't slander her by calling her a mistress over something you don't know. If miss Billi wanted to marry young master Zhang so much then why was she out of the country for almost an entire year?
Where was her devotion to her crip..., fiancé that was hospitalized? You are all just a bunch of gossips who have nothing better to do with your time.
I think you are more likely to teach your children immoral things than teacher Alix is. Get out, get out before I call security." She raised her voice and shouted at them.
