Chapter 480 - 480 Scared me to death

Chapter 480: Chapter 480 Scared me to death

The Beacon Tower was built on top of a very high mountain, with at least a hundred-meter high cliff just outside.

Yang Qingyin didn’t even have the courage to peek over the edge, let alone stand on the battlements.

It never occurred to her that Luo Ziling, who had been joking with her, would actually jump down. Even though she knew Luo Ziling had good martial skills, she was scared half to death.

She wasn’t tall enough to peek over the battlements, but she still tried her best to clamber up to see what had happened.

Yet, her lack of strength meant she failed to climb up after several attempts, and could only yell Luo Ziling’s name from where she was.

“Sister Yang, where are you looking?” Luo Ziling’s voice came from behind her.

Yang Qingyin, who was anxious, jumped in fright and quickly turned around, only to see Luo Ziling standing on the battlements behind her, smiling at her.

Shocked, she rushed over and grabbed his leg, “Luo Ziling, stop playing around, come down quickly, you scared me to death!”

“Kiss me and I’ll come down,” Luo Ziling chuckled and crouched down. He then pointed to his cheek, “You owe me one.”

“Come down first,” Yang Qingyin insisted, though relieved to see Luo Ziling safe and sound.

“Okay,” Luo Ziling agreed, but he didn’t jump down. Instead, he hooked his foot around the wall of the fort and leaned toward Yang Qingyin.

Yang Qingyin pecked him on the lips and then bit him hard, threatening, “Come down quickly, or I’ll ignore you!”

Seeing that Yang Qingyin was truly angry, Luo Ziling quickly jumped down from the wall, and somewhat sheepishly said, “Are you really mad?”

“What if you had fallen?” Yang Qingyin yanked Luo Ziling’s ear, still furious, “How dare you jump from such a high place, do you think you have nine lives?”

“No, I was just teasing you,” Luo Ziling let Yang Qingyin pull his ear and raised both hands in surrender, “There are gaps between the bricks on the wall, and some broken spots to grab onto, I wouldn’t have fallen.”

“Then how did you appear from behind?” Yang Qingyin still couldn’t grasp how Luo Ziling suddenly popped up behind her, and she asked fiercely, “You had me worried sick!”

“Do you want me to try it again?” Luo Ziling was pleased by Yang Qingyin’s concern and couldn’t help but laugh, “I can demonstrate it for you in slow motion.”

“No way,” Yang Qingyin refused without hesitation, “I don’t want another scare!”

“Then I’ll demonstrate on the inner wall,” Luo Ziling pointed to his ear, “But can you let go of someone’s little claws first?”

“Hmph,” Yang Qingyin yanked his ear forcefully before finally letting go.

Then, Luo Ziling gave Yang Qingyin a demonstration of rapid movement using his hands to clutch the wall’s crevices, leaving her stunned.

Seeing Luo Ziling’s capability, how he could move by gripping the crevices in the wall bricks using just his fingers, Yang Qingyin couldn’t help but comment, “Kind of like Spider-Man.”

“The wall has loopholes for shooting,” Luo Ziling pointed at the holes in the wall, smiling, “So, see, I was just messing with you. I definitely wouldn’t have fallen.”

“But you still scared me half to death,” Yang Qingyin maintained her scolding expression.

At that moment, Luo Ziling leaped up and landed right on the battlements, then waved at Yang Qingyin, “Sister Yang, do you want to come up and play?”

“No way, it’s terrifying,” Yang Qingyin shook her head in refusal; she didn’t have that kind of courage!

“With me here, you’ll be fine,” Luo Ziling said with a smile, “Come up and look at the scenery below the cliff, it’s spectacular.”

Luo Ziling, while speaking, even struck a Golden Rooster Stands on One Leg pose up there.

Seeing Luo Ziling’s relaxed demeanor, Yang Qingyin couldn’t help but be tempted. Her previous tension and worry had vanished without a trace.

“Come on, let’s take a selfie in a bit. I guarantee you’ll find it thrilling,” Luo Ziling once again enticed Yang Qingyin.

Finally moved, Yang Qingyin stretched out her hand toward Luo Ziling.

As their hands clasped, Yang Qingyin couldn’t help but let out a scream, her body soaring into the air, the sensation of riding the clouds and driving the mist was exhilarating.

When she came back to her senses, she found herself standing on the parapet with Luo Ziling. Glancing to the side, she saw the cliff below the wall behind them and couldn’t help screaming again, her body trembling uncontrollably.

Luo Ziling wrapped an arm around her shoulder and took out his phone, lifting it above his head, and instructed Yang Qingyin to look up.

So, with the perilous setting as their backdrop, they took a particularly unique selfie.

Then came the second shot, and the third, Luo Ziling took quite a few photos with one arm around Yang Qingyin and the other holding the phone.

After a few shots, he had Yang Qingyin turn with him to face out toward the cliff.

This made Yang Qingyin scream in shock yet again, but leaning against Luo Ziling’s embrace, she ultimately didn’t collapse.

She didn’t dare to look down or look ahead and finally closed her eyes.

After a while of frolicking, seeing that Yang Qingyin was still frightened, Luo Ziling hugged her and jumped down. Yang Qingyin screamed in surprise, not expecting Luo Ziling to jump down with her in his arms. When she opened her eyes again, she found they had landed safely and let out a sigh of relief.

Luo Ziling showed her the photos they had just taken. Seeing the rather dangerous pictures, Yang Qingyin was surprised at her own bravery, to dare stand in such a pose for the camera.

“The photos from today’s outing are very unique,” Luo Ziling said as he scrolled through the photos, laughing and asking Yang Qingyin, “Shall we post them to Moments?”

“Don’t you dare post them!” Yang Qingyin bluntly refused Luo Ziling’s suggestion.

“I was talking about you posting one. I wouldn’t post them!”

“I’m not going to post either!” Yang Qingyin, knowing what Luo Ziling meant, still shook her head and declined.

“Alright, let’s continue walking to the Immortal Fairy Building,” Yang Qingyin said, seeing a few tourists approaching from behind. She took Luo Ziling’s hand and walked forward.

On their way, whenever there were no people around, Yang Qingyin was willing to spend more time with Luo Ziling, but when other tourists came by, she would take Luo Ziling’s hand and leave.

Luo Ziling didn’t object and let her link arms as they moved forward.

The group that had come up from behind them was five or six robust-looking men, their strides quick, and they soon passed the leisurely walking Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin. The two didn’t pay much attention, as it was common for tourists out having fun to pass by them. This part of the Great Wall, not necessarily a destination for ordinary tourists, was not crowded, but there were always people coming and going.

Soon, these several men had passed by, heading forward.

Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin followed hand in hand, walking toward a Beacon Tower up ahead.

As they climbed the high steps, those robust men who had gone into the Beacon Tower came walking back down.

They descended rapidly, two of the men heading straight towards Luo Ziling with collision in their steps.
