chapter 10
10. Guess
I wanted to go back in and shout. It’s not Tina that’s in this body, it’s someone else. She is said to be an evil spirit that has taken over her body.
‘To do so, we must first uncover the evil that the Countess has committed.’
Just because you tell the truth right now doesn’t mean it’s accepted as truth by everyone. It’s obvious that I’ll rather be pointed at if I’m not crazy. The fact that someone else is inside her body is a truth she knows only to herself.
“…The head of the tower.”
Froden recalled the pagoda without realizing it. She’s familiar with the curse, and if she’s already the owner of a tower she’s even discussed about it, she might be able to help you find a solution.
“Let’s go to the temple.”
She intended to return to the duchy right away, but her schedule changed. Evidence and witnesses are essential for her to reveal the truth in everything. The witch who directly cursed the young lady and the priest who instigated and witnessed it. This should suffice as evidence.
The carriage turned and headed for the temple. While she was on her way, she contacted the pagoda owner again and said that she would come back in a while, and asked him to find out about the curse. She grumbled at the sudden request, but she was upset at the news that she was visiting in person after a long time, so she hurriedly cut off contact with her.
“Brother, we have arrived at the temple.”
The carriage stopped and the captain’s voice was heard. The business at the temple had already been decided, so Froden headed to the detention center without hesitation. Hadun, who had been informed by the knight who set out first, was waiting for her with two sinners bound.
“Are you here? As you commanded, we are ready to take the witch and her priest separately.”
“Good work, Hadoon. Was there a wagon to take them?”
“There was a separate wagon cart that was used as a celebration at the temple, so I purchased it separately while paying a donation. Moderately useful for escorting criminals.”
“What about the children here?”
“Since we overturned this once with bribery and embezzlement, you don’t have to worry about the embezzlement of donations for children.”
“Then there are no remaining problems. Depart.”
The guilty party didn’t even look at them and turned around and went back the way they came. After that, the knights followed, and Hadun followed with the sinners.
The suffocating atmosphere disappeared as the carriage left and all the members of the duke left the temple. The priests stretched out their bodies and continued their normal routine, fearing that sparks would fly on them. As if nothing had happened.
————
The carriage ran smoothly and arrived at the magic tower located near the duchy. The wizards of the Mage Tower, who had already received a report that the duke’s carriage was approaching with surrounding monitoring magic, rushed out and waited for the carriage door to open.
As soon as the door of the wagon opened and Froden’s figure was revealed, the wizards rushed like crazy.
“Young master! How about studying magic that reduces gravity with us today!”
“Go away! It’s already on the verge of completion. How about a magic that makes the air in the house fresher than that! This time, I introduced a newly conceived magic circle!”
“Don’t miss out on those who sit at a desk and wield only a pen!”
“Young master’ field of expertise is our magic engineering!”
“How can you disparage the beautiful science of magic so much!”
It was as if there was no separate market version. It’s a sight I see every time I visit the Magic Tower, but I can’t seem to get used to it. As Froden raised his hand and stirred it, the waiting 4th Knights pushed away the wizards’ bodies and began to escort Froden.
“I’m sorry to all of you, but today I have a prior appointment with the Tower Lord. Next time, if we have time, let’s do some research together.”
What’s urgent right now is not such trivial matters. The first priority is to find Tina, who has settled deep in her heart and has become the purpose of her life.
“It’s like that twisted inspiration.”
“The only things that grow with age are greed and magic skills.”
“Monstrous inspiration.”
The wizards disappeared one by one, talking behind the pagoda owner. Even in the midst of that, there were some wizards who kept looking back to see if they had any regrets, but Froden didn’t care and went inside the tower.
In spite of the stares from inside the tower, I calmly got on the elevator. A magic circle was created inside the slightly opaque coffin that was pierced through the center, and Proden’s body was held and transported to the top floor.
This is one of the greatest masterpieces of my life, taking almost a year to produce.
As soon as I arrived at the tower owner’s laboratory, which occupies the top floor of the tower alone, the tower owner approached me as if he had been waiting for it. Her face was frowning, but she welcomed Froden’s visit with her whole body. Although they had already talked to each other over the phone, it had been a long time since they had met face-to-face, so Froden greeted the top lord face-to-face with a happy expression.
“I saw it via communication, but you still correct it.”
“It’s not time to go yet, so I’ll correct it. How can you be unluckily more handsome?”
“It is the result of consistent management. If the top lord takes care of it, you will look 10 years younger.”
“Here, 10 or 20 years old inspiration is the same.”
After standing there exchanging fruitless conversation with each other for a while, Froden’s mouth fell shut. Topju, who perfectly understood the situation through telecommunications, let out a sigh when he saw it.
“First, let’s go into the lab. We have a lot to talk about.”
I turned around and went inside, following the owner of the tower. After passing through several laboratories and entering the library full of books, Topju handed over some books that had been taken out beforehand.
“This is a book about the witch’s curse. The curse on the countess and similar curses are all marked, so take a look.”
“I brought the witch herself who cursed her…Wouldn’t it be better to ask her?”
“The witch will tell you the perk in detail. Besides, the witches who received her request and cast curses all swore not to speak out, so she couldn’t even ask. Because if you say her words, you’ll put that curse on yourself too.”
“Then I cannot be used as a witness in court.”
“It can serve as evidence.”
Froden’s eyes lit up at those words. When she looked at her pagoda with fierce eyes, she turned her head as if those eyes were burdensome, and continued her words.
“The witch’s curse is special. The mark of the curse remains on the body until the cursed person dies. Besides, she can only curse one person, so if the person she curses is alive, she can’t put another curse on her.”
“That means that the mark of the curse still remains on the witch’s body.”
“And you can’t talk about the curse, not about the client. Witches aren’t fools, and there’s no way they’ll make an oath that only harms them.”
Only then did I understand. Why didn’t the witch leave her temple right away. Why she was caught obediently. Why she was dragged in with the face of her giving up her life. It feels like putting a puzzle together.
“I think it was a good thing to contact the tower owner. Also Top Juemon. Because it is reliable.”
“I told you not to use his nonsense words.”
“You know that I always trust and rely on you, right?”
“Then stop by often so we can do some research together. Because of you, there are not one or two studies that have stopped now.”
Is it thanks to finding a clue to solve the case? Froden’s face softened a little. Topju, who had been constantly paying attention, noticed it, but did not show it. What he can do is not clumsy consolation, but the role of discussing and presenting solutions together.
“First, tell me in detail. There is little information that can be clearly grasped through brief explanations.”
Following the pagoda sitting on the sofa in one corner of the study, I sat across from it. As Froden thought of Tina’s changed face and the shocking words that came out of her mouth, he felt sick to his stomach.
“… Tina seems to have another soul inside her body.”
“In the aftermath of the curse, as soon as the soul of the young lady left, another soul entered and took its place due to some phenomenon.”
“It was not the souls of other nobles, nor the souls of commoners, knights, wizards, let alone other races.”
Tina’s illusory voice lingers in Froden’s ears. She speaks as if she knows herself well. Although everything was wrong, one thing was certain.
“I’m not sure if Tina has a man or a woman in her body. But he wants me to like him. While trying to break off the engagement with me. It was like he wanted to manipulate and control my emotions.”
She was the exact opposite of her wise and gentle personality. Far from developing any emotion at the foolish and coercive appearance of the other spirit, only a snort came out. What on earth do you believe in and be proud of? It reminded her of the disgusting way she constantly looked at herself and flirted with her eyes.
“It’s strange. It almost reminds me of novels where people act like people from the future.”
The tower owner smiled and played with his beard. Various novels that he had read to pass the time passed through his mind. Doesn’t it seem as if impossible and absurd stories such as those who returned from the future and those who came from a parallel world appeared in reality?
“Now this phenomenon is unrealistic. It’s a story that there can’t be another soul entering another person’s body. If it was a phenomenon that could be artificially caused, the world would have been turned upside down by now. Witches must have ruled the world playing with spirits.”
“Then you are saying that you have to think about unrealistic causes and make assumptions.”
“You should have been a wizard.”
Looking at Froden, who realized the core of the story and immediately fell into thought, the top lord muttered regretfully. I should have caught it sooner.
“Can’t you use her witch’s curse once more to get the soul out of that body?”
“No. The witch’s curse is one per person. The mechanism of the curse is formed that way.”
Froden sighed in regret. If that were the case, the situation could have been easily resolved.
“Where did Tina’s soul go?”
“Do you remember the story we talked about over the phone? The soul that escaped will come back as long as the body is alive.”
“It’s been a few days since Tina’s been fine, so it’s time for her to come back soon. But can two souls exist in one body?”
“Impossible. Unrealistic. It’s an incomprehensible phenomenon, but you have to judge that there is a possibility and think about it. And that will be more helpful in saving the lady.”
Froden closed her eyes and visited her past life memory library. She doesn’t know if there is any useful information in it, but she intends to do a search first.
Topju, who closed her eyes and looked at him lost in thought, moved to the novel book section of the library. In the current situation, theses and research journals are useless. Rather, to obtain unrealistic material, it is better to speculate on the side of the imaginative novel.
‘Reincarnation, return, possession, disembodied body, return, parallel world, other souls in the body, other beings.’
After using the library for several years, the speed of searching and browsing the materials was different from the first time. At first, it was at a level where you had to recall the memory and concentrate slowly to see the contents, but now, just recalling the memory, I can understand it as if the related contents are being recognized in my head.
After a few minutes of searching, Froden opened his eyes and let out a dumbfounded laugh. Topju, who was indulging in a novel at the sudden laughter, turned his head and looked at him.
“You seem to have thought of an interesting hypothesis, right?”
He remembered. When we were doing research together, when there was a blockage, Froden closed his eyes and meditated, and then he suddenly came up with a good solution.
“It is an absurd and absurd hypothesis.”
At those words, Topju shook the novel book he was holding.
“I am also looking for something in a novel. Say it.”
“What if Tina’s soul from the parallel world flowed in and settled there? Since they are the same soul in the same body, it is easy to settle down without any objection, and it explains the way I speak well and misunderstands my past history.”
“…Not bad. It’s plausible. There is a possibility.”
Froden was not interested in Tina’s soul in the parallel world. For her self, the lover she loves is Tina, who has lived through this world now. Even though she lived a similar life, she is not the same person after all. Froden understands that very well.
Now that we know the identity, it’s time to find a solution. Just wait, b*tch.
