chapter 8
Silver Forest (2)
Nias was walking alone in the snowy forest.
Nias’ small body was swept away by the blizzard again and again.
However, curled up and wrapped around the blanket he had handed to her like a cloak, she continued onward.
The surroundings were only forests covered with white snow and Nias.
The wind and blizzard blew, but Nias felt that the forest was exceptionally quiet despite the stormy noise.
For there was not a single sound of life there.
It was similar to the quietness he had been with all his life before he was reborn as a girl named Nias.
‘This quiet is the world I’ve been living in. okay. This is my world.’
So long ago that I can’t even remember.
The existence called the Demon King was originally an ordinary girl.
An 8-year-old girl who was born ordinary and lived an ordinary life.
But at some point, mysterious powers began to manifest in her.
The first time he realized that power was when the body of a friend who had fun with him suddenly rotted away.
Her very existence began to taint life and distort the earth.
It soon became possible to control the power, but people had already noticed Nias’ power.
People chased her out, persecuted her, and eventually tried to hunt her.
Her family was killed by people for giving birth to an ominous monster.
I begged for help, but they didn’t listen. He just stared at Nias with cold eyes, as if he was doing what he was supposed to do.
It was probably from then that Nias became the demon lord.
The demon king’s first leading evil act was a series of hesitation and hesitation.
She killed her parents and killed those who tried to kill her.
The demon king’s heart felt great pain when he tore people apart, melted them down, and made them bleed from every hole with his innate magic.
After everything was over, the Demon King just wanted to hide himself from the world.
When pursued, they hid themselves, and when unavoidable, they harmed them.
At first, she was a girl who hesitated to hurt anyone while running away.
But from some point on, the girl gradually got used to hurting someone.
And, conversely, I started to become insensitive to other things.
The world haunts her, and she fights back.
The relationship went on for a very long time, until she forgot any other way to relate to the world.
And she thought with despair.
Someone is trying to kill him, and he fights against it and kills it is the only relationship he can have with the world.
But at some point, even that only relationship disappeared.
Those who came to lay down their lives on the land of death polluted by the demon king disappeared after a long time.
No one came by her side who destroyed the surroundings with absolute power.
Instead, monsters, who are similarly distorted creatures, gathered beside her.
However, demons were not human.
Demonic Spirits showed absolute loyalty to the Demon King, but that loyalty was only filled with submission to power and selfishness.
Total peace, complete solitude.
The sadness she had longed for all her life and finally came.
Then one day, someone who suddenly came to the land of death and stood proudly in front of the demon king brought out a proposal.
“I will reincarnate you. How would you like to live a new life? at the cost of your death. After 100 years, the Demon King will be reborn on this land.”
A new life in exchange for death?
No one would believe such an offer.
As she tried to refuse, someone threw one more word at her.
“Shortly after you die, there will be people who will be called warriors in the world. They are the ones chosen by a constellation far away. They are different from normal people. The Demon King seems to know how to use them, but…”
‘Is it different from normal people…? then…’
can they understand me?
The demon king could not stand the solitude that was dotted with his life.
collapsed by itself
It’s just, endlessly… It becomes a tiny, tiny black piece.
And when she was reborn, Nias thought her life must be cursed.
The family was destroyed by the emperor, and no one took care of Nias.
“It’s because of you! You were born and your family died. You brought the curse!”
Nias remembered his father’s screams.
Maybe I really didn’t know.
Wasn’t he the demon king who distorted everything around him even before he was reincarnated?
Even after Nias came back to life, he couldn’t form a human relationship with anyone.
There was only a world that made him suffer as before.
The fact that Nias became a maid of the Leonhart family was not a desperate attempt to save Nias.
He just hoped that Nias would make some money and send it to his family.
It was handling things.
Nias was fine though.
such as human joy.
‘Because I am the Demon King. I have a plan.’
Coincidentally, there was a candidate for a hero in the Daneheart family.
I heard that it was also chosen by a high-ranking Constellation.
Except for the weak point of his body, it was the best for a warrior to take advantage of.
Nias had his own expectations.
100 years ago, about the existence of a hero who didn’t exist until he died.
They may be different from normal people.
“It’s like a filthy idiot. I don’t know the subject, it’s dirty.”
However, the warrior was no different from the others.
Hates, hates, hurts.
Only the feeling of betrayal filled Nias black inside.
Disappointment soon turned into murderous intent.
‘This isn’t him. There must be a better warrior in this world. The person I’m going to make into a hero has to be… a better person.’
After a long time, she decided to use the only way she communicated with the world.
It is against the attacking opponent. Usually it ends in death.
But since when?
“Looking at it, I thought it would suit me just fine. With that damn blanket. You just look like a nerd.”
Nias was staring blankly at the boy’s quivering eyes.
“You can only bully me from now on.”
The hesitation and pain in those eyes.
“Okay, that’s all right. Don’t do anything stupid in the future, be careful. Because it really bothers me.”
The sincere concern melted into the harassing tone.
“Call me in the future.”
Nias remembered the warmth on the nape of her neck that seemed to still linger.
He was obviously different from other people.
As if from another world.
The difference he harbored changed something within Nias like water spreading through a cloth.
Nias somehow began to enjoy her time with him.
Even when I was bullied, I came to expect the candy-like sweetness he would give me.
Little by little, he was getting better.
“Kluyak! Are you here?! Come out!”
In the blizzard, Nias looked around the forest and shouted.
After walking around the forest like this, that monster must have smelled it.
“Kluyak!”
After a long silence, Nias returned to his subordinates.
Then, in the midst of the snowstorm, a monster appeared.
With a head resembling an eagle, the body of a four-legged beast like a lion was covered with white feathers, the tips of which were stained the same color as red blood.
The appearance of a monster that seemed to exceed 7M was abrupt, as if removing the veil from the world, but Nias was not surprised.
Special ability, natural assimilation.
To completely melt into nature and its colors and textures.
That was one of Klujak’s abilities.
“Meet the ruler of all monsters. You look quite different from when I saw you before.”
Klujak politely bowed his head and said.
“okay. Kluyak. Long time no see.”
Nias walked in front of the monster.
Soboksobok, the footprints left by Nias were covered in snow and disappeared as soon as she stepped off.
“Why did you come looking for a lowly being like me?”
Nias let out a breath.
Thinking of the child once, Nias raised his head.
“There is something I want to ask you.”
“Hmm…as long as it’s the order of His Majesty the Demon King.”
“A little boy will come to this forest soon to find me. i want to kill that kid you take care of it Surely.”
At Nias’s request, Klujak laughed and clicked his beaks.
“okay. By the way, His Majesty the Demon King also said. Always. Power rules the world…”
Klujak slowly lifted one foot.
The snow piled up on the monster’s feet poured down onto the snowfield like hailstones.
Nias immediately noticed the disturbing sign.
“Still, do you think you are the ruler? It’s already been 100 years! You are just a child with no powers!”
Klujak slammed his foot at Nias.
Nias reflexively threw herself to avoid her feet. In the spot where Nias was, snow sprang high like a spray of water.
“It is not a betrayal. Just, if I ingest the demon king’s soul, wouldn’t it be possible for me to aim for the position of the demon king instead of the fake demon king established by the demon king?”
Klujak looked at Nias with his cruel eyes shining brightly.
Nias’s body froze even colder than now at those terrifying eyes.
It was a disaster.
I thought I understood the evil existence of monsters more than anyone else.
He would have known their lust for power and their selfishness.
I should have waited until my body had grown enough and my mana was restored…!
“If you hadn’t appeared in front of me, I wouldn’t have known that his power was weakening! You have come too soon!”
Klujak slams his foot again. With the wind created by that blow, the blanket that had been warming Nias like a cloak flew up into the sky and disappeared into the blizzard.
Ah, it flies.
Nias reached for the torn blanket as it fluttered away, but she couldn’t catch it anymore.
Klujak’s foot crushed Nias so that he could not move.
Excruciating pain ran through Nias’ body from the crushing of her lower body and her internal organs being crushed by the claws.
Nias struggled and tried to resist, but her body didn’t move at all.
Klujak looked down on Nias and showed a look of joy.
“I never thought playing with the Demon Lord would be this much fun. I didn’t know.”
Klujak slowly lowered his head towards Nias’s torso revealed through his claws.
“Is this really fun? Oh, come to think of it, did you say you’re a kid who will come later? I will play with it and kill it like the Demon King.”
Klujak opened his beak.
There was a terrifyingly deep abyss.
A world without any light.
A space of perfect solitude.
Nias was not afraid of such a space.
The world was a solitary space for Nias from her previous life.
So, death also just goes back to that place.
But as the darkness drew closer, Nias felt a sense of dread.
I was afraid of death. I was afraid of loneliness.
Nias didn’t know why.
Nias closed her eyes tightly.
bang!
Nias opened her eyes with a loud noise.
The weight that was weighing you down was gone.
It was because Klujak’s huge body collapsed as if it had been hit by a large shapeless battering ram.
“young master…”
Nias found the boy flying in the sky in a violent snowstorm.
The boy slightly lowered his eyes and met Nias’ gaze.
Nias’s lips moved. I wanted to say something.
Are you sorry? Did you do it wrong?
However, the words I wanted to say pooled at the tip of my lips and were not made into words.
However, all of Nias’s hesitation and the boy’s one word made everything worthless.
“Hey, Pig. How dare you run away Know that you will never forgive after it is over.”
Nias was unable to react to the accusation.
He was just blankly looking at the savior who had appeared for the first time in his life.
