THIS IS WAR

Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Orenden

As the 7 Element's Ship landed on Orenden, they noticed the beautiful scenery of the planet. There were a sea of trees of all different colors, and flowers that looked as if they were picked straight from a fairytale storybook.

As they disembarked they were greeted by a welcoming party lead by Orenden's crown princess, Lumeria Orenden.

"It's a pleasure to meet you all. Allow me to escort you to the arena." The princess said gesturing to the grand arena that was at the top of the hill behind them.

"I don't think I've ever heard anyone say it was a pleasure to meet their invaders." "War" said.

Princess Lumeria led the team into the arena and to their waiting area, which was a luxurious suite filled with the best food and drinks the Orendish could offer.

"This is where you all will be staying for the duration of the festival. I hope it is to your liking." The princess said. "Sir "War" I am having tea and cakes in my personal suite upstairs if you would care to join me."

"Humph! Do you think Lord "War" would be interested in a tea party you silly gi-" Toudou was cut off by "War" before he could finish his question.

"That sounds nice let's go." "War" said offering his arm to the princess. As the two walked away the rest of the team pondered the reason behind the generous welcome they received.

"Do you think she's trying to seduce "War" or something?" "Fire" asked.

"If so she's going to be disappointed when she finds out that he's more interested in the cakes than her. Plus she doesn't seem the type to." "Wind" said.

"Perhaps she's trying to poison him?" "Earth" suggested.

"That's not really a concern either. Don't you remember what he said the last time someone tried that?" "Wind" reminded them.

"That tart wasn't bad but one thing I would say is that the poison was too bitter. Next time use a sweeter poison, or maybe don't use poison at all. Don't feel too bad poison is a tough ingredient to use." They remembered "War" saying.

"Yeah what was the deal with that anyway?" "Fire" said.

"I don't know my brother has always had a high immunity to poison, even when he was a child." "Wolf" said.

"He really has been a monster since he was born I suppose." "Earth" said.

Meanwhile "War" and the princess had been treating themselves to an assortment of cakes and tea.

"Wow princess, you weren't kidding this stuff is really good! You must have really good taste!" "War" declared.

"I'm glad you like it. I actually made a few of these myself." The princess replied.

"Seriously? If being a princess doesn't work out you might have a career as a pastry chef." "War" said causing the two to chuckle.

"Now, while I am enjoying your company, I am curious as to why we are receiving such a warm welcome. It's a bit… unusual to say the least." "War" said taking a bit more serious tone.

"Yea well, my father the king, has determined that our chances of victory are very slim. Therefore, he thought being accommodating towards you would garner a more lenient occupation." The princess said.

"Ah Haha! So you guys aren't even expecting to win? How lame!" "War" laughed.

"Just so you know I am completely confident that our warriors will win." The princess said a bit more forcefully than the polite tone she had been using.

"Huh, well at least you have some guts, unlike your father. I guess he was too much of a coward to show up." "War" said.

"Yes my father has been called a coward before, and perhaps it is true. That being said, I believe his cowardly nature has lead our people to the peace and prosperity that we have enjoyed for many years. He has kept us out of danger and raised up the powerful warriors we have to protect us now. Perhaps a good king needs to be a bit of a coward." She replied.

"Yeah you probably have a good point there, but the problem is that your father is more than just a "bit" of a coward. Plus, when the enemy is at the gates is when a great king needs to be brave. I am glad that you were brave enough to face us." "War" said.

"Well, I will admit that my bravery is just a front. I truly am afraid. Not of you, based on your reputation I don't believe that you would hurt a defenseless woman. But I am afraid of what will happen if we lose." The princess said.

"You know, being brave doesn't mean that you're not afraid. Me and my men are mighty warriors, you'd be a fool to not be afraid to face us. You're brave because you're still here despite being afraid." "War" said.

"Thank you for that Sir "War". Were you afraid when the Empire invaded your planet?" She asked.

"No, I was too stupid to be afraid." "War" said with a smile and the two shared a laugh as the first match was about to start.

"Coming out of the Eastern corner, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing in at 190 pounds, he has a record of 749 wins and zero losses, it's the brutal wild card of the 7 Elements it's…. WATER!!!!"

"Now for his opponent out of the Western corner, he stands at 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing in at 185 pounds, he's making his War Festival debut, he's a commander in the Orendish Royal Army, it's …!!!"

"Garo Sirio!!!"

Garo Sirio

Age: 19

Ht: 5'10

Wt: 185

Special Ability: Desert Sands

"A commander at only 19 that's pretty impressive." "War" said

"You're not much older Sir "War", but yes Garo is quite accomplished." The princess replied.

The fight started with "Water" sending waves of water at his opponent and Garo responding with waves of sand.

"So the kid's ability is sand? That's an advantage for "Water" right?" "Fire" asked.

"It is, but the Orendish must have known we'd send "Water" out first like we always do. Why would they intentionally put themselves at a disadvantage?" "Earth" said.

"I don't know but it's obvious that they're up to something and I have a bad feeling about it." "Wind" said.
