-Dante DevilleWins!-

In an underground bunker, dozens of masked unconscious figures lay on the floor. Dante cracks his neck as he transforms his Duel Disk into its watch form. He grabbed the golden-bordered Gold Sarcophagus card from his coat pocket and held it up in front of him. The card emitted a golden light, as it violently shook which quickly ended. He looks around the room, then back towards the card. "Looks like that's everyone at this hideout, but sadly it doesn't seem like I'm done yet if the card is still glowing." He stretched his arm, before cracking his back. "I hope I can finally finish this mission, fighting all these goons is getting tedious."

Walking back to where he came from, he exited the bunker to find himself inside a forest. Once he left the bunker, his Duel Watch started ringing. Checking who it was from, he was surprised to see it was from his boss. He answered the call with a beep. "Yes, Boss?"

"How is the mission going? Did any complications appear?"

"Nah, I took them all out, but the card is still shining."

"Be patient, it will be like that for a while, as we haven't encountered any of the more problematic pests yet. So far you only dealt with the drones of this infestation."

"I hope they will at least be a bit of a challenge, I'm dying of boredom facing these guys. None of them have any flair or entertainment value to speak of."

"Take this seriously, we finally have a chance to get rid of these pests for good. We can't afford to miss any because you have to make everything a show."

"Yea, yea Bella already gave me this lecture."

"Very well, just keep taking out the hideouts. Very soon you will be too much of a nuisance for the more dangerous pests to ignore, and once those are taken care of; the queen will finally reveal herself." So far Dante was ok with all these bug and hive analogies and metaphors. He understands that not everything should be spoken out loud without filters. However, his boss's last comment caught his attention.

"How do you know it will be a queen?"

"What kind of nonsense are you trying to get at?" The boss's voice got colder as he said that.

"Typically you would just say the leader will reveal themselves, or the target will appear, or even that the head of this group."

"Get to the point Dante, you're wasting my time."

"You know something don't you boss, you know who is behind th-"

"Get back to work." The voice was flat and colder than Dante had ever heard it before. Dante glared at his watch, his voice turning to steel.

"You are hiding something from us, aren't you Fidel?" For a moment neither of them said anything, leaving Dante with only the sounds of nature around him. "At least tell me if any of this will bring any harm to Isabella. Tell me you're not heartless enough to bring any danger to your flesh and blood sister."

"Isabella won't be in any harm when all of this ends, does that satisfy you?"

"For now it does, so anything happening on your side of things?" Dante's voice returned to its original laid-back tone.

"Yes, Romach has informed me that his project has shown decent results." He noticed how Fidel's voice was noticeably warmer than it was before. "Two subjects of his manage to materialize and bind a DS, and one thing to note is that they're the same kids you given the decks too."

"You have to be more specific, I've given away several dozen decks over the years." Dante leaned against a nearby tree.

"The kid who traded you the left leg."

"Ah! I remember now, the kid who had the friend with him."

"Yes, Romach confirmed both of them managed to materialize a DS each." Dante whistled in surprise.

"Huh, I thought both of them had potential, but nothing like this. Well is there anything else, I doubt that is all the news you have."

"Indeed, Romach asked me if you were able to help him with the project."

"Let me guess, he needs me to be one of his test subjects?"

"Romach wanted to see if you can materialize a DS yourself, he said you have a high chance to be able to." Dante rolled his eyes.

"First, he does want me to be his test subject. Second, how does he know if I have potential?" He shook his head. "Don't answer that, I have a feeling I don't want to know the answer to that. And third, didn't you want me to focus on the mission right now?"

"Yes, your priority is the current mission. Once you are finished, you'll be tasked to help Romach with his project." Dante gave a lazy salute despite being alone.

"Got it boss, is that all?"

"Yes, inform me if any difficulties appear." The end call ended with a click. Dante pushed himself away from the tree he was leaning on. Cracking his neck as he checks on the card that started to pull his hand in a certain direction. He sighed once he noticed the card was pointing him deeper into the forest.

"Things are never easy, are they?" After an hour of following the pull of the card, Dante found himself a river flowing from a waterfall. Before he started climbing the wall of stone and dirt, he noticed that the card was gravitating not up the waterfall but towards it. Once he was in front of the waterfall, he check the card once more before bracing himself. Then in a burst of speed, he dashed and jumped through the waterfall. After not feeling himself collide with a hard wall, he opened his eyes to find himself in a small cave.

Dante stealthily followed the card deeper into the cave. After 30 minutes of walking, he found himself staring at a metal door with a key lock blocking his way. Taking a blue box out of his coat pocket, he pressed a button on the side. A razor blade popped out of the top of the box, which he used to slice through the lock. Catching it before it hits the ground, he then softly lowered the door to the ground before stuffing the box back into his coat pocket. Going through the door, he was greeted with the sight of what can only be described as a laboratory. In the center stood a man with wild blue hair, and a woman with short purple hair. Both of them were too busy looking over what Dante could only assume to be their notes to notice him. After transforming his Duel Watch and preparing his deck, Dante confronted the two.

"So what's the verdict doc?" Dante said with a wide grin.

"Why do simpletons never understand not to bother us when we are wor-" He paused when he noticed a clear lack of a mask from their guest. "Who are you? And what are you doing here!?" His shouting got the attention of the woman, who cursorily tilted her head at him.

Dante gave them a bow as his Duel Disk opens up. "You can call me Dante." He looked up and gave the duo a toothy grin. "And I have some questions that I bet both of you can answer." The man looked like he was about to run before his Duel Disk opened up and bound him in place.
