To Live in YU-GI-OH (Rewrite)

'I can't believe it took me this long to find my way back...' The dark sky has reached its near complete darkness as the only form of light is the moonlight reflecting off the dirty snow, ice and slush on the ground.

'Thankfully I was able to learn a couple street names before I decided to walk in a random direction...I still won't be able to read or write in Japanese fully though, kanji languages are a pain in the ass.'

Breathing out a frosty white breath, I move down a familiar street and turn into an alley reaching a tucked away door. Stopping for a second I reach into my shoes and pull out a small key that I use to open the door. Stepping inside a familiar but hardly there scent of dust reaches my nostrils along with a the satisfying smell of fresh cardboard.

Closing the door from behind me I throw off my thick and slightly wet coat and hang it on a small coat rack in the corner of the small game room. 'I still can't believe how lucky I am..I've got a place I can actually sleep in for free. Two quote on quote gaurdians who give me free food and things like clothes and actual baths. Considering how I'm an assumed orphan that was freezing my ass off just a couple of weeks ago, my situation isn't that bad.'

Patting my pant to check for wetness I lay down on the couch in the northeast corner of the room and drape the blanket over myself. 'Though I wish this play had a heater or something...It could be worse I guess, after all for a previously abandoned place the insulation is actually pretty good.'

Curling up into the cushions I slowly relax myself and let the slight sound of snow falling lure me to sleep.

I slowly rouse to the sounds of the clunking of glass? ceramics? Slowly opening my eyes I roll over to look out and see two familiar people and one new face.

"Oh? Your awake? Took you long enough." Sitting up I see Kenji staring at me before holding up a little box and turning back around towards a bigger boy.

Both of the boys are seated at the small table in the middle of the room and they seem to be playing Duel Monsters while digging into their own respective foods. Looking around the room, I spot a familiar woman watching the apparently pathetic game state while shaking their head.

'When did they get here? And what time is it? I need to get to the clothing store and pick up some more clothes. Though who the hell is that other guy? I know the girl she was the one who always hits Kenji after he gets out of line.'

Stretching out my arms and my back slightly I get up and start approaching the table and the other teenage boy gives me a little wave and hello as I approach. Looking over the small table I see a shameful game.

Kenji has three monsters in his graveyard, no cards in hand, and only an Acid Crawler on his side of the field while the other boy has two monsters in his graveyard one card in his hand and a Stone Ghost on his field.

'W-wait..How did? If you start with 5 cards in hand...Then how???' The teenage girl whoses name is Aina notices the confusion on my face and slides over to me and whispers in my ear. "Don't worry about it..I have no idea how they managed to do it..."

"Dammit! How did you get that! It's way too stro-" Kenji shouts out in frustration before a flying fist goes into the top of his head and shuts him off while Aina stares at him, and while I can't see her expression the sweat that runs off Kenji's face gives me an indication on what face she was making.

"Ha! You should know better! Don't say that while kids are around!" The other boy laughs at Kenji's expense. "It's still your turn, don't forget to draw."

At that I chose to save my braincells and I grab the container pointed out to me and I move back to couch and open up the container to find a still warm Omurice and a small plastic spoon.

'Oh! I always wanted to try Omurice! Though I'm not the biggest fan of ketchup..This really is the best part of reincarnation! Or I suppose transmigration? Either way, I've been dying to try this! Maybe I'll stop by the convience store and try some Natto beans..'

Eating a spoonful of the Omurice it's...pretty good. Nothing mind blowing but its actually very well seasoned strangely. 'I thought they didn't season their rice here? How made this?' Looking back over to the table I see Kenji still holding his head over both the lingering pain of getting hit and the way too strong Stone Ghost on the other side of the field. 'Well I know it wasn't him...'

Pulling out my own cards I start taking out a couple cards. 'It was fun running around with a bigger deck but all I want is my 40 card deck back...' And upon me bringing out cards the other boy gets out of his seat and rushes over to me in 5 seconds flat.

"You play the game too?" The large boy who while looking similar to Kenji's age he towers over him and casts a huge shadow over me. "Yeah..I play sometimes..." The boy sits down next to me and looks over my...I would say shoulder but he towers over my shoulder and just looks over my body to my cards. "Those are really good! That Worm Drake is crazy strong!"

"Get off him. If you want to play with him then just say that." Aina comes over as Kenji picks up his cards begrudginly while grumbling. "Ah. Sorry. Well you heard her I want to play can you play a game?"

"Sure...bu-" 

"Great! Come over! Kenji has to wait because he lost, but we can start right away!" The large boy drags me over and practically sits me in one of the chairs. "Don't drag him like that!" Aina hits the shoulder of the boy as he passes her.

The boy ignores the hit and sits down before addressing me. "Are you ready!?"

"Yes I am. But you should know I don't just play for any reason..I want 500 Yen if I win." The boy's head tilts at me but he just shrugs his shoulders before putting his cards on the table. "Fine. Then we can start!"

"Then I'll go first and I'll draw!"

".....What's a draw?"

'....God help me..'

After 30 minutes of explaining the rules only for a 3 minute Duel as I drew Wanderer Of The Red Dessert in the first turn. I'm finally making my way down and towards the clothing shop Ms.Meiko runs quickly enough.

Breathing in the frosty air I let the temperature cool down my frustrations as I navigate the now busy streets. 'That was totally not worth it..I guess I got some more money out of it, but still...I also need to pick up some new cards soon I don't know when power creep will strike!'

Making my way through the salary men crowd I move past multiple stores before turning into a more "homey" part of the neighborhood and I spot the familiar pale yellow sign as I older woman leaves the shop.

Walking up and into the shop I see the short, long black haired woman talking to another woman as she holds up a simple baby blue shirt. "Do you think he'll like it? My boy's picky and won't touch anything blue.." Meiko leads the woman to the counter while nodding her head. "Of course he will. Look at it not only does it feel very soft its such a nice shade!"

Deciding to stop eavesdropping I look around and grab a few items including underwear and socks. 'I'm so tired of dealing with 3 pairs of underwear..Plus I'm still a child and wetting the bed is still a problem....And who wants to deal with 2 pairs of socks? I mean in this weather they get instantly soaked if I make a wrong step and I'm tired of waiting for them to dry out.'

Getting up to the counter I wait behind the lady holding the blue shirt and as she leaves she ruffles through her pockets and pulls out a small candy before exiting. "And what are you doing here?" Aftering seing that no one else is in the store she looks down to me and moves from behind the counter.

"I thought I said for you to only come here with Hara?" Meiko pats the top of my head before slightly pushing me to the back of the store. "W-wait..I came here to buy these." As I say that Meiko raises an eyebrow and takes the underwear and socks out of my hands before gaining a motherly smile on her face.

"Oh. Your so adorable! Listen you don't have to pay just come to me and ask if you have it. A cutie like you can get anything you see in the store!" Meiko then picks me up in tight hug before putting me down as the sound of a bell alerts us to another person entering the shop.

"Listen I've got to go back out there you can stay here if you want..You know what?" Meiko goes back to the front of the store and comes back with a small box. "I just got these cards from a nice man. I heard you and Hara play this game a lot so you can have them if you want."

As she puts down the box I see on the side a title, "Duel Monsters- Begining Of The Magic Knights."

'There is no way...'
