Tom In The Multiverse

Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Tom breaks through the dimensional wall

The mountains were blanketed in snow, and the starry sky shone brightly overhead. A blue and white British Shorthair cat darted across the snowy landscape, its smooth fur gleaming in the moonlight. The cat wore a black Demon Slayer uniform, a shorter nichrin blade strapped to its waist, giving it an air of both handsomeness and cuteness.

As it ran swiftly over the soft snow, its paws leaving a trail of plum blossom-shaped prints, the cat—Tom—was multitasking. A translucent system screen appeared before him as he called out the system interface:

*[Current World: Demon Slayer]*

*[Main Quest: Kill Muzan Kibutsuji]*

*[Reward: Free access to this world, right to summon friendly characters in this world, 5% progress in transformation]*

*[Side Quest: Kill the Upper Moons (optional)]*

*[Reward: Different Blood Demon Arts depending on the Upper Moon killed]*

Tom's cat face turned serious as he dismissed the system screen. He continued sprinting on all fours, his paws barely making a sound in the snow.

"I finally found the location of the Kamado family. I hope I'm not too late," Tom thought as he sped up.

He hadn't always been a cat. Once, he had been human, but one day he woke up to find himself transformed into the famous Tom from Tom and Jerry—a change caused by a mysterious system. While he enjoyed the strength and agility of Tom Cat, the experience had begun to affect his mind, making him start to think like a cat.

Tom still desired to return to his human form, and thankfully, the system's rewards offered a way to restore his humanity. He could even retain the power and abilities of Tom Cat after the transformation.

But first, there was a mission to complete.

Here's the corrected and formatted version:

Although it sometimes felt like the system was deliberately stringing him along, forcing him to complete these tasks, Tom was still tempted. After all, he had nothing to lose. And so, his time-travel journey into the world of Demon Slayer began.

Tom had now been in the Demon Slayer world for two years. During that time, he had not only mastered breathing techniques at the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters but also asked Raven to help him locate the Kamado family's home. According to the first episode of Demon Slayer, Muzan Kibutsuji attacked the Kamado household, slaughtering the entire family except for the protagonist, who had gone out to sell charcoal. Muzan also transformed the protagonist's sister, Nezuko Kamado, into a demon.

Tom had a plan: if he could ambush the Kamado house before Muzan arrived, the elusive demon king would come straight to him. At that point, he could destroy Muzan in one swift move, pass through this world quickly, and claim the system's task rewards.

Tom wasn't overly confident about defeating Muzan Kibutsuji in a single encounter, but he was certainly confident in his own strength. After all, Tom's limits—both upper and lower—were famously high. Even if he couldn't kill Muzan, he believed he could at least hold him off until dawn. And with Tom's seemingly immortal body, he had no concerns about his own safety. He couldn't die, so even if Muzan managed to escape, it wouldn't matter much. Tom could at least test the ghost king's strength in advance.

"Hehe!" Tom's cat mouth curled into a smug grin as he imagined the possibilities. If he could speed through each world, he would soon be able to turn back into a human and live a normal life. At that point, the good life would finally begin.

"We're here. I see the house." As Tom emerged from the woods, he noticed that the terrain ahead grew gentler, signaling that he had reached the halfway point of the mountain. In the clearing, a simple wooden house stood before him.

Suddenly, the door of the house was violently thrown open with a loud boom! A long-haired girl in a pink kimono tumbled out, clutching a small boy with a watermelon-shaped head.

Tom's eyes widened in shock. "What the—? What a coincidence!" he muttered.

Inside the house, a young woman, tears streaming down her face, was desperately protecting a group of children behind her. Despite her fear, she stood firm, refusing to yield. Muzan Kibutsuji, standing in the room, sensed something and slowly turned his head toward the direction where Tom was approaching. He had heard someone shouting, and worse, he caught the scent of something he loathed—the Nichirin Sword.

"Someone from the Demon Slayer Corps? How... convenient," Muzan said, narrowing his beautiful eyes. Ignoring the woman and children inside, he calmly walked out the door. Cautious by nature, Muzan knew he had to assess whether the newcomer posed a threat.

Squeak—squeak—

His leather shoes crunched softly on the snow as he stepped outside. Muzan's sharp night vision immediately locked onto the figure approaching him.

"A... cat?" Muzan frowned, perplexed. "And a cat wearing a Demon Slayer uniform?"

His immediate thought was that there must be other Demon Slayers lying in ambush, with the cat acting as a distraction. "Why would they ambush me? Have my movements been exposed?" Muzan's mind raced, considering which of his demons could have betrayed him. But that seemed unlikely—his whereabouts were always kept secret, even from his underlings. Tonight's visit had been nothing more than a casual stroll, hunting for humans to turn into demons in his ongoing search for someone with a special constitution immune to sunlight.

"An ambush seems impossible. Could this really be just a coincidence?" Muzan pondered, scanning the area for hidden threats. His senses remained on high alert, expecting an attack from the cat's supposed owner.

But what Muzan didn't anticipate was that the cat, whom he had dismissed entirely, would suddenly stand upright! Tom, with a swift movement, gripped the scabbard with one claw, while the other claw drew his sword. In a flash, he charged at Muzan with incredible speed!

"Aha!" Tom cried, closing the distance in an instant.

"Flower Breathing - Fourth Form: Crimson Hanagoromo!"

With an explosive burst from his feet, Tom blew the snow off the ground as he rushed at Muzan Kibutsuji. Gripping the Nichirin sword in his claws, Tom executed two swift, arc-shaped slashes from bottom to top. Cherry-pink streaks, resembling petals, sliced through the air as Muzan leapt back more than ten meters to avoid the attack.

But as Muzan landed, his chest split open, a thin stream of blood trickling from the wound. It healed almost instantly, with even the blood vanishing as if it had never spilled. Now, the positions of both combatants had shifted: Tom stood in front of the Kamado family's destroyed gate, while Muzan Kibutsuji had retreated to a position some distance from the house.

Tom's cat ears twitched, shaking off the light snow that had settled on them. From the corner of his eye, he spotted the Kamado family's mother, still alive and protecting her children behind her. Nezuko Kamado lay unmoving at his feet, but she was still breathing. Tom noticed that Nezuko was cradling her brother, Kamado Rokuta, who had been injected with demon blood by Muzan and was in the process of transforming into a demon. Thankfully, Rokuta was unconscious but otherwise unharmed in Nezuko's arms.

"Good, I made it in time. The Kamado family is safe," Tom thought, breathing a sigh of relief. "Nezuko has a special physique, so it won't matter if she turns into a demon."

While Tom's immediate concern was protecting the family, Muzan Kibutsuji stood in disbelief, his pupils trembling as he stared at the cat wielding a sword. The scene before him seemed surreal—like something out of a nightmare.

To Muzan, it was strange enough that he had become a demon a thousand years ago, but now... a cat using breathing techniques? What madness was this? Was Tom a monster? Muzan couldn't understand Tom's methods, but one thing was clear: the cat had managed to injure him. The wound might have been small, but it was an unexpected sneak attack.

With dawn approaching, Muzan knew he had no reason to linger. He had never cared about pride or appearances. If it had been any other member of the Demon Slayer Corps, he would have simply killed them or turned them into demons. But Tom's wild and unpredictable approach unnerved him. Muzan decided it was better to retreat for now and investigate the cat later through his demons.

However, Tom—who had read the original Demon Slayer story—knew Muzan's character all too well and had no intention of letting him escape.

"Dance of the Bee Sting: True Flutter!"

Tom raised his Nichirin sword in both claws, took a deep breath, and charged at Muzan again with incredible speed.
