Chapter 33: Unexpected Find
After Yu Nianzhen chose a sword, they moved to the whip section. The whip was also a common weapon, and the selection was wide.
Jiang Yue looked through the weapons, but he knew nothing about whips.
He had chosen a whip because he felt it was a weapon for the lazy.
He could imagine himself standing at a distance and whipping a villain without exerting too much effort!
Yu Nianzhen also suspected his motive, and he couldn't help but smile when he saw Jiang Yue's confusion as he looked at the selection.
"I will take this."
Jiang Yue was impatient, and he randomly chose one that looked good.
The whip was five metres long and was made from blue snakeskin.
'As I thought, he chose the blue one.'
Yu Nianzhen was amused, but he didn't say anything.
The sword was twenty thousand gold coins, while the whip was more expensive and cost fifty thousand gold coins.
After paying for the weapons, they left the floor and headed to the fourth floor.
Many hours later, the two left the resource hall.
Jiang Yue was very excited as he lightly rubbed the small bag in his hand.
The bag was the size of a money pouch and was tightened with a drawstring at the very top.
"I can't believe we bought storage bags." He said happily.
When they went to the fourth floor, they found that the floor was filled with clothes and shoes.
However, these clothes and shoes weren't ordinary.
Defensive runes were sewed onto the robes and shoes, which elevated the items from ordinary to silver rank artefacts.
Fortunately, they weren't expensive.
The two had bought four pairs of robes and four pairs of shoes for one hundred thousand gold coins.
After that, they went to the fifth floor.
The floor had all kinds of unique artefacts, and for a time, they walked around hoping that their treasure compass would react to something.
Unfortunately, there was no reaction, but they did find a pile of storage bags on one of the shelves.
The bags cost five hundred thousand gold coins, and the two used a million gold coins to buy two.
"We only have three gold coins left." Yu Nianzhen lamented.
After buying the storage bags, they could no longer purchase anything else.
"Who cares."
Jiang Yue was pleased with the purchase.
The storage bags only had one square metre of space, but he was satisfied with that. Having them meant that they didn't have to carry large sack bags on their backs.
Also, the storage bags looked like ordinary money pouches, which was very convenient.
The only drawback was that the storage bags were low-grade products and couldn't store living things or recognise an owner. This meant that a person could gain access to their belongings if they stole the storage bags.
However, all these disadvantages were secondary.
The convenience of carrying things was the most important at the moment.
"Let's go to the restaurant."
Jiang Yue put the pouch in his sleeve and grabbed Yu Nianzhen's hand.
The two walked down the street and arrived at the restaurant a few minutes later.
Although it was already past lunch, the restaurant was filled with disciples.
Most of the disciples on the first floor wore navy blue robes, but there were a few new disciples.
Yu Nianzhen and Jiang Yue could recognise them because they didn't wear the sect robes.
"Wait." Jiang Yue thought of something, and his face turned ugly.
Yu Nianzhen also had the same thought, and his mouth twitched in amusement.
They had been so excited to buy things that they had forgotten that they would need to wear sect robes after the next test. This meant that the new robes were unnecessary.
"It doesn't matter. The robes can still be worn when we leave the sect." Yu Nianzhen consoled.
However, Jiang Yue wasn't convinced.
After joining the sect, one couldn't leave the mountain for at least one year.
Also, that time could be longer since meridian awakening realm cultivators couldn't leave the sect.
If one took a long time to break through to the origin forging realm, they would already have outgrown the robes before they got a chance to wear them.
"It's a trap."
Jiang Yue was very disgruntled.
"Don't worry, there will be chances to wear them."
Yu Nianzhen had read all the books he had borrowed from the martial hall.
The Sea cloud sect had seven peaks.
All disciples needed to join a peak, but they didn't have to live in their peaks.
Other than the seven peaks, there were many mountains in the inner region.
If one had enough contribution points, they could lease a small mountain to live in.
Alternatively, they could lease a courtyard outside their own peaks.
After reading about this, Yu Nianzhen had made up his mind to lease a courtyard.
In this way, he could live with Jiang Yue even if they chose to cultivate in different peaks.
Although it was required for everyone to wear sect robes within the sect, they could wear whatever they wanted within a private courtyard.
However, Yu Nianzhen didn't mention any of this to Jiang Yue.
One of the reasons he didn't say anything was because they currently had zero contribution points.
The other reason was that he wanted to surprise Jiang Yue.
Although he hated surprises, Jiang Yue liked them.
"Second floor or third floor?"
"Let's try the second floor."
Jiang Yue was reluctant, but he wasn't ignorant. He knew that they needed to save so he couldn't be spoiled at this moment.
Yu Nianzhen rubbed his head and spoke, "don't worry, we will exchange for more gold coins."
The second floor was the most popular floor amongst the three floors in the restaurant.
Most of the disciples were not rich and could not afford to frequently eat on the third floor.
Because of this, the second floor was relatively crowded when the two arrived.
There weren't any open seats, and the two had to stand to the side to wait.
When a seat finally opened, a group of disciples rushed to grab it.
Luckily, Jiang Yue was a step faster, and he successfully grabbed the table.
Yu Nianzhen sat across from him and was very ashamed.
This was the first time he had fought for a table with others.
'How the times have changed.' He thought solemnly.
In his previous life, restaurants would clear the place if he wished to dine alone.
Who would have thought he would be reduced to grabbing tables with others?
He sighed and ordered from the odd job disciple that was serving as a waiter.
Food was sold in two sets.
The first set had rice, meat, and vegetables.
The second had rice, meat, and soup.
However, both sets cost one silver each.
Yu Nianzhen chose the first set, while Jiang Yue chose the second.
The two were waiting for the food to arrive when a group of three girls approached them.
"These fellow disciples, can we sit here?" One of the girls asked.
The girls had been waiting for an hour and hadn't managed to grab a table.
In the end, they couldn't wait any longer, and since the two had a six-person table, the girls decided to approach.
Yu Nianzhen didn't want to sit with them, but Jiang Yue was a social person.
"Please sit."
"Thank you, fellow disciples."
The girls were grateful, and they immediately sat down.
"I am Qin Junjun and they are Wang Yu and Lu Ming. We came together from Red Ore city."
Red Ore city was one of the major cities in the Sea Cloud region.
It was called so because it was the largest producer of red ore that was used in alchemy and forging.
"He is Yu Nianzhen and I am Jiang Yue. We came from Fengying city."
Qin Junjun was also a social person, and she found a kindred spirit in Jiang Yue.
"I hope to join the third peak." She said after their conversation turned to peaks.
"Why?"
"Most of the girls hope to join the third peak because it is led by elder Chen." The girl called Lu Ming was the one who answered.
Yu Nianzhen looked at Jiang Yue, and both were thinking the same thing.
Bai Zheng had previously invited them to join the third peak, but they had been keeping their options open.
However, now that they knew that the third peak was led by elder Chen, Jiang Yue's destination was immediately decided.
Elder Chen had an illusion origin and was the perfect person to guide Jiang Yue.
"Which peak is led by a swordsman?" Jiang Yue asked.
"That would be the fourth peak." Wang Yu answered.
Unlike the rest of the girls, she hoped to join the fourth peak.
The fourth peak was also known as the sword peak because it had the most swordsmen.
Although she did not have a sword origin, Wang Yu hoped to be a swordsman.
