Transmigration: Lady Chi Woos The Ice cold Professor Jun

Chapter 35: A surprise sponsor.

The office was as busy as a market place in the morning. Thanks to the rescue of the kidnapped girls, the phone was ringing off the hook with reporters who wanted to buy their footage or interview the witnesses.

After the new employees were given ID's, they set to work immediately.

So far, the web TV was running a couple of programs. They had news in the morning, at lunch time and at seven p.m. at night. All the news anchors were pretty much fresh graduates that barely had any real life experience however they were articulate, well-trained and determined.

Thankfully, the camera men had experience. And two of the reporters were also experienced; they joined the company because of the attractive salary Chi Lian offered.

Currently, they were on air airing basic news. The biggest story was the kidnapping of course.

After the news, they were going to show kids animation which Chi Rui had brought in as a surprise. He had stolen the rights right from under Ji Haolin's thumb.

When animation ended, they would show some historical documentaries until lunch time.

The talk show which the Princess would host was to be aired at eight p.m. It would be a one on one interview with a guest of some influence. In between the show, a musician would be invited to sing along with the in house band that Chi Rui had also found according to her instructions.

She wanted to add a children's bedtime story telling show at nine p.m. Of course, the stories would be those from her old world.

In due time, more programs would be added.

Today, the princess had chosen her own visitor to host. She would be hosting the state minister for security and the action king Wu Lian.

T4 was already advertising it on every public website with his dummy accounts. Thankfully, it had garnered plenty of attention and brought in new subscribers.

It also helped that the advert for 'Tea with the Princess' was cute and the jingle was catchy.

In a space of one day, three million subscribers had been added to the channel. It only cost about five Yuan to have full access to the channel per month.

Chi Lian left her secretary Wenli to handle the rest and she went into her office to see the business plan.

Wenli was Wenzhe's younger sister. When he heard that she needed an assistant, he recommended her and drove her over personally. After talking to her for a bit, Chi Lian could see that despite her young age, she was capable and professional so she hired her on the spot.

"Lady Chi, you have a visitor waiting for you in the lobby." Wenli told her over the phone.

Chi Lian who not expecting anyone paused her work and asked, "Who is it?"

"It's Mr. Jun Muyang and his assistant Wenzhe."

This shocked her so much that she jumped up from her chair. Why was he here? Why didn't he call her first?

"Send them in."

Her hands were shaking as she tried to make her already neat office appear presentable.

She left her chair behind her desk and moved to one of the comfortable black sofas in the open area. She crossed and uncrossed her legs.

When Jun Muyang walked in, he was alone. He was dressed in a dark blue suit with a white shirt. His curly hair appeared unruly and she longed to run her hands through it.

"Be cool." Her inner voice whispered.

She craned her neck and looked behind him for any sign of Wenzhe but he was nowhere to be seen.

"Where is Wenzhe?" she asked.

"He is with his sister, aren't you happy with just me?" he asked sarcastically.

"Of course I Am." she hurriedly pulled him to sit down. "I am just used to seeing him behind you always, like your shadow."

"Hmm"

She sat down right next to him and then realized she was being unprofessional so she jumped up and moved opposite him.

Wenli came in with two cups of coffee and excused herself.

"So, uhm_ how can I help you Mr. Jun Muyang?" she tried to sound as professional as possible.

"I saw the advert of your talk show tea with the princess. I didn't know Rize had moved here to work with you."

"That makes two of us." She mumbled.

Jun Muyang smiled softly when he heard her words. He was pretty sure princess Rize had showed up and forced her way into the company.

"Was the talk show your idea or hers?"

"Mine."

"It was a good idea. She draws a lot of attention because she is a princess, she has a lot of fans and she can convince a lot of high profile individuals to come on the show."

"Those are the exact factors I considered before allowing her to come onboard." Chi Lian looked proud of herself.

"She has a nasty temper. Are you sure you can handle her?"

"If she misbehaves I can spank her like a baby." Chi Lian swung her hand up and down in a spanking movement.

Jun Muyang chuckled bit louder than he expected.

"It's the first time I am seeing you laugh loudly." She observed. "You have a wonderful smile."

He stiffened his face up immediately.

"Sooo are you here for a reason or you just wanted to see me?" She batted her eye lashes.

He coughed nervously because she looked too cute, "Can you be more professional?"

"Yes, Mr. Jun Muyang, what business do you have with Phoenix media today?"

"Jun investments would like to be the sponsor of tea with the princess."

Chi Lian wanted to dance with joy. The show had not even started airing and it was already trending online and an investor was knocking on the door.

"Is this a professional arrangement or are you doing it because of our personal entanglement?"

He looked so offended, "What kind of man do you think I am? I don't mess around when it comes to my business. That's why the sponsorship is for Jun investments and not the Jun Corporation."

"How much money are you offering us?"

"We will start with twenty million because we have considered the value of the host and potential growth of the show. We want our adverts to be given forty seconds of air play in between the change of guests and word of mouth mention by the princess. "

She may have feelings for Jun Muyang but she was a business woman, this deal was not favorable in the long run.

"I don't agree with that offer. I admit that we are a new channel and the show has yet to see results but the potential for growth of this show is worth much more than your offer."

"Exactly, potential for growth, at the moment, it's still a caterpillar at the starting line; it has yet to spread its wings. We can re-negotiate the contract when it flies."

"Add five million to your offer and I can accept it."

"The additional five million will depend on the results of tonight's show. However if the numbers drop and there is no significant effect on Jun investments from advertising with you within a month then we will cancel the contract immediately."

"Agreed,"

"Excellent." He smiled.

"Can we discuss another business then?" She moved to her desk, opened a drawer and returned with an envelope which she handed him for review.

He looked the proposal carefully for around five minutes and put it down.

"When did you come up with this?"

"At the beginning of the week but I didn't put it all together until last night. I didn't approach you because I wanted your money." She waved her hands in denial immediately.

"Hmmm."

"So, what do you think about it?"

"I will have my people look it through and get back to you."

"Can I ask for a time limit because I am trying to get this off the ground immediately? I already have a script ready." She pulled out a script from her drawer titled the Last Emperor and handed it to him. It had been one of her favorite movies and it was a box office hit.

"I will give it a read as well and I will send it to the royal family. The title is a bit disconcerting. It is forbidden to air films and songs that may incite rebellion."

"There is no such thing in that script. It is the story of an Emperor of a fictional dynasty which does not exist in this world. However I am willing to make the necessary changes according to what is deemed viewable. If it will land me in trouble, I can shelve it and film something else. I have other scripts to choose from."

Having concluded their business, Jun Muyang leaned back against the sofa and finished his coffee slowly.

Chi Lian added a few cookies to his plate, sitting by his side like a dutiful wife.

When he finished, he left with a promise to have an answer for her in a few days. He also told her that the bodyguards he handpicked for her were waiting downstairs.

Wenli picked them up and brought them to his office. Unlike the handsome young bodyguards who were usually portrayed in movies and series as heroes that saved the female lead and fell in love with her, he had picked two middle aged men for her.

Clearly, he did not trust her not to hang around the young male bodyguards so he picked married middle aged ones. But it didn't matter, as long as they were good at their job.

She gave them the address to the house where they would stay and picked one female body guard to sleep in the main house. You never know when danger might strike.
