Chapter 31: Discussion

{Lucien pov}

From the day I arrived at the castle bringing those evil beings to the castle I have heard the gossips about lady aurora being engaged to Dave , God knows from where he popped up and I have finally confirmed that as I secretly peek at them a they hold hands together and walk around the castle .

When I got the news I was filled with rage as I can see clearly that Dave also has an unusual relationship with lady Evelyn .

Dave even after getting engaged to lady aurora still has illicit relationship with another women I have to inform of this to lady aurora and the count and the engagement will be broken.

Yes, all I have to do is catch him in the act .

Evening,

The evening had settled into a comfortable stillness as the Mikaelsons gathered in Elijah's room, the fire flickering quietly in the hearth. They had known Dave Nightshade for only a month, but already, he had become something of a friend—especially to Klaus, who had taken a liking to him almost immediately.

Kol, always perceptive, was the first to bring up what had been on his mind. Leaning casually against Elijah's bookshelf, he tossed a glance at his siblings. "Has anyone else noticed that our dear friend Dave might not be just a talented artist?" Kol's tone was light, but his eyes were sharp, filled with curiosity.

Elijah, seated in his usual chair, raised an eyebrow but said nothing, waiting for Kol to continue. Klaus, however, was quick to defend his friend.

"Dave's been a good friend." Klaus said firmly, standing near the window. "He's a brilliant painter and a good man. If you're implying something more, Kol, I'd suggest you tread carefully."

Kol rolled his eyes with a smirk. "Relax, Nik. I'm not accusing him of anything. I'm just saying... he's got a few odd habits. Have you seen some of the symbols he painted during our little art session? They weren't just creative flair."

Finn, who had been standing by the fire, nodded slowly, his brow furrowed. "Kol's right. The designs in his paintings—especially today—reminded me of magical symbols, ones that a witch might use unconsciously. It wasn't intentional, but it was there."

Klaus frowned, turning to Finn. "And what are you suggesting? That Dave's a witch?"

Finn met his gaze, his expression calm. "That's exactly what I'm suggesting. It's possible he's like us—part of this supernatural world, even if he hasn't realized we are too."

Rebekah, lounging in one of Elijah's chairs, leaned forward, intrigued. "But he's been so... normal around us. Why wouldn't he have said something if he's a witch?"

Elijah, who had been listening quietly, finally spoke. "Perhaps because he believes we are normal, Rebekah. If he is a witch, he might have no reason to suspect that we are anything but human."

Kol chuckled, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "Which means we've been hiding our true nature from him, and he might be hiding his magic from us. How delightfully ironic."

Klaus, however, wasn't entirely convinced. He glanced at Finn, then back at Kol. "Dave has had every opportunity to show his hand if he were hiding something. He's been nothing but a good friend, and we've only known him for a month. If he's a witch, why wouldn't he say so?"

Finn sighed, his expression thoughtful. "Maybe it's not that simple. Witches don't reveal themselves lightly, especially if they think they're among humans. And the symbols he's drawn, whether intentionally or not, are powerful. He may be more connected to magic than we think."

Klaus's frown softened as he considered his brother's words. "If Dave is a witch, it doesn't change anything. He's been nothing but loyal friend to us. If anything, it might make him an even greater ally."

Elijah nodded in agreement. "I don't believe he poses a threat. In fact, if he is a witch, His magic could complement our abilities, especially now, while we are still learning to control our new nature , and father after us. "

Rebekah, though still intrigued, had a more personal question. "But if he is a witch, does that mean he could know about our nature? Could he find out what we are?"

Finn shook his head. "Witches don't have the ability to sense us whatever we might be as we are now, not unless they perform specific spells or rituals. He would have no reason to suspect unless we give him one."

Klaus, finally relaxing, nodded. "Then we keep it as it is. We don't reveal ourselves, and if Dave is a witch, I'll talk to him. If he's hiding his magic, there's probably a reason, but I trust him."

Kol, still grinning, couldn't resist a final jab. "Or maybe he's just waiting for the right time to dazzle us with a magical performance."

Rebekah sighed, shaking her head at Kol's enthusiasm. "You really enjoy stirring the pot, don't you?"

Elijah, ever the composed one, stood up, signaling the end of the discussion. "For now, we observe. If Dave is a witch, we'll find out soon enough. But until then, we continue as we have. Trust, but keep our secrets close."

As the siblings began to leave Elijah's room, Klaus lingered for a moment, glancing back at the fire. Dave had become a close friend in a short time, and the thought of him being a witch didn't bother him—if anything, it made their connection even more interesting. If Dave had been hiding his magical nature, it was likely out of caution. After all, the Mikaelsons were hiding too.

But one way or another, Klaus would find out the truth.
