Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Gathering Storm
Oscar's mind was still reeling from the events in the alley. He couldn't shake the feeling that his life was about to change forever. He decided to gather his friends and acquaintances, hoping that together, they could unravel the mystery.
First, Oscar called Kaito. "Hey, Kaito. I need to talk to you about something. Meet me at the old oak tree in the park at 3 pm."
Kaito's voice was laced with concern. "What's up, Oscar? You sound serious."
"Just be there," Oscar replied.
Next, Oscar texted Joyce. "Hey, Joyce. I need to talk to you about something. Meet me at the old oak tree in the park at 3 pm."
Joyce replied with a simple "OK."
Oscar then called Mitch. "Hey, Mitch. I need to talk to you about something. Meet me at the old oak tree in the park at 3 pm."
Mitch's voice was cautious. "What's this about, Oscar?"
"Just be there," Oscar repeated.
Finally, Oscar approached Sam in the school hallway. "Hey, Sam. I need to talk to you about something. Meet me at the old oak tree in the park at 3 pm."
Sam's expression was skeptical. "What's this about?"
Oscar hesitated. "Just come."
At 3 pm, everyone gathered at the old oak tree. Oscar took a deep breath and began the introductions.
"Everyone, this is Kaito," Oscar said with a smile. "The new kid you've all probably noticed around school."
Kaito smiled and waved, looking a bit shy.
"This is Joyce," Oscar continued. "And Mitch."
Joyce smiled and said hello, while Mitch nodded curtly.
"And this is Sam," Oscar said finally. "We... met recently."
Sam's expression remained skeptical, but he nodded.
As the introductions were made, Oscar noticed that everyone seemed a bit more at ease. He took a deep breath and plunged into the reason he'd gathered them all together.
"Let's talk," Oscar said, his voice firm. "I think we're all in this together, whether we like it or not."
Joyce leaned in, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "What's going on, Oscar? You've been acting weird all day."
Oscar took a deep breath. "It's about what happened in the alley. With that guy Zein."
Mitch's expression turned guarded. "What about him?"
Kaito's eyes narrowed. "Who's Zein?"
But before Oscar could answer, Sam spoke up.
"Hey, you mean that guy I beat up in the alley?" Sam asked, a hint of a smirk on his face.
Oscar nodded. "Yeah, that's the one."
Sam's smirk faltered. "What about him?"
Oscar hesitated. "He said some weird stuff. He said he was a member of the... Twelve Stars."
The group exchanged confused glances.
"Twelve Stars?" Joyce repeated. "What's that supposed to be? A gang? A club?"
Oscar shook his head. "I have no idea. He didn't explain what it meant."
Mitch frowned. "Sounds like some kind of joke."
But Oscar knew that Zein hadn't been joking. There was something serious, something ominous, about the way he'd said those two words: Twelve Stars.
Oscar's eyes locked onto his friends. "So, we gotta be on the lookout. I have a feeling that more weird, bizarre stuff is about to happen."
The group nodded in agreement, their faces set with determination.
Meanwhile, in a hidden chamber deep beneath the city streets, the Four Great Elders convened in secret. The air was thick with the scent of old parchment and burning incense, and the flickering candles cast eerie shadows on the walls.
Balthazar watched from the shadows, his eyes gleaming with interest.
"We know you're there, Balthazar," one of the elders said, their voice low and mysterious. "Come, share your thoughts with us."
Balthazar stepped forward, his eyes fixed on the elders. "I've been watching Oscar," he said, his voice dripping with intrigue. "He's... intriguing. The power he possesses, the fragment that Zein had... it's all connected, somehow."
The elders nodded, their faces grave with concern. "The balance of power is shifting," one of them said. "We must be prepared to act."
Balthazar's smile grew wider. "I'll be keeping an eye on Oscar. And the fragment. It's only a matter of time before we uncover its secrets."
