Until You Are Mine

Chapter 5: Chapter 4

Angelo's POV

I glared sharply at Chinny on the dance floor with Astrid. Damn it. I'm jealous of her friend, Astrid. But I felt even more envious when Kilorn walked up and wrapped his arm around the waist of the woman I love. Lucky bastard.

I wish it were me she loved. I wish… it's always just a wish.

I wish I could be her everything.

Out of all the women, why her? Why am I head over heels for her?

I mean, there's Karma, Astrid, and Farley, right? Yeah, not her. Let's not add Farley to the list because Khairro would plan an assassination and put a bullet in my head. He'd throttle me if I included Farley in the list.

Why did it have to be Shieneva Monasterio for whom I fell? Damn it!

"Looks like Chinny's about to melt under your stare, Gelo," Lucifer teased with a smirk. I just downed my drink.

"You should've just gone for it," Rhysand suggested, shaking his head as he looked at me disapprovingly.

"You're such an idiot. That'll only make her angrier," Khairro said, biting his lip at Rhysand's suggestion.

"If something happens between you two, it's not a bad idea. Chinny's your wife, for Pete's sake. Remember, Kilorn's just the other man because you and Chinny are married," Karma said, catching my attention. Among Farley's crew, Karma was the most serious one.

"You have more rights now, Gelo. You're her legal husband," I gaped at Karma's words.

Even though Karma is Kilorn's cousin, she never takes sides. She treats me and Kilorn equally, only pointing out what's right or wrong.

"Then there's Jessa," Khairro said, shaking his head while looking at me. I glared daggers at him, making Farley laugh.

"I can't relate to you guys. All this love talk—does she even love you back?" Farley asked seriously. "Why not prioritize food over love? Can't you focus on eating first?" Everyone laughed at Farley's quip. At least this crazy woman is happy despite her problems.

We drank deep into the night, and I shook my head as they started doing body shots. I could still see Kilorn standing beside Chinny.

That guy annoys me.

I was startled when Kilorn suddenly grabbed Chinny's arm roughly.

Fvck!

What right does he have to hurt Chinny?

No one at the table spoke, and I suddenly felt Jessa's arm wrapping around mine. I wasn't drunk, just tipsy, so my mind was still evident.

"You two look good together," Khairro commented with a grin, which made everyone else look at us.

"Ayiee!" They teased Jessa and me, making me shake my head.

"Yeah, you two would look great… in a trash can," Farley said sarcastically. I couldn't help but smile. The bitch is back again.

"Why don't you give it a try? Maybe it'll work," Lucifer suggested.

"Stop that. Jessa and I are just friends," I snapped. The jerks just laughed.

"Ouch, that hurts, friend," Karma teased Jessa. My forehead creased as I noticed Chinny walking toward me—or maybe just toward our table. I immediately pulled away from Jessa.

"I wanna go home, Gelo," she said as soon as she got close to me.

"Chinny, we're not done talking yet," Kilorn said behind her. I turned and saw his annoying face. He grabbed Chinny's arm roughly, and I felt like a demon possessed me.

"You're hurting my wife!" Chinny's jaw dropped, and even our friends turned to look at us.

"I'm still her boyfriend. We never actually broke up. Back off, fucker," he said. I didn't back down and held Chinny's arm.

"You've got some nerve. Without Karma and Farley's guilt-tripping, I wouldn't have let you marry Chinny. It's all your fa—"

"Shit! Gelo!" my friends yelled.

Damn it! It's a good thing I managed to punch him already. I was about to punch him again, but Lucifer and the others stopped me. My entire being was filled with irritation. I was livid. We got everyone's attention, but I didn't give a fuck.

"K-Kilorn?" I froze when Chinny quickly rushed to Kilorn. Of course, she'd go to him—they're still together, right?

"You okay?" she asked as she touched his cheek. I clenched my fists and turned my back on them. This is pure torture.

"I'm tired. I should go home," I said as I left the bar. By the time I got to my car, I felt like all the muscles in my body had melted. I was so close to beating Kilorn to a pulp.

"Angelo!" My energy returned when I heard her voice. When she reached me, she grabbed me and turned me to face her.

"Le—"

"Why did you punch him?" she asked, looking at me angrily. "You punched him. Say sorry!" I froze when I saw tears streaming down her face. Damn it! This is the last thing I want—to see a woman cry.

"Gelo, why are you doing this? Everything is already so messy—"

"Why? You're asking me why?" I shouted, grabbing her arm and pinning her against my car. I stared straight into her brown eyes, which began to melt my anger, but I needed to stay strong.

"Because you're the one I fell for out of all the women. The girlfriend of my cousin's best friend. Damn it!" My voice rose, and I almost slammed my car in frustration.

"It's maddening to admit that I love you, but it's even more frustrating that you can't love me back. I love you, Chinny. I'll do anything as long as you're mine."

I pulled her away from my car without looking at her reaction. Once I let her go, I sped off in my vehicle.

"Crap!" I laughed at myself, even as a tear slid down my cheek. I adjusted my driving, worried I might crash and make Chinny a widow too soon.

I don't suggest suicide over unrequited love. Who knows? Maybe one day, she'll realize I deserve her love.
