Vampire Queen : Fated Love

Chapter 16: Chapter 16 : Every family has problem!

☞ Josh Room .

Alia walked into Josh's room, her face a mix of worry and frustration. She had been uneasy ever since she found Sarah's photo tucked away in his things. Her son, for all his charm, had a reputation that didn't sit well with her.

Josh was lounging on his bed, scrolling through his phone, completely unbothered. When he saw his mother standing in the doorway, he raised an eyebrow.

"What now, Mom?"

he asked, his tone dripping with annoyance.

Alia stepped inside, closing the door behind her.

"We need to talk, Josh. About Sarah."

Josh groaned loudly, tossing his phone onto the bed.

"Seriously? What about her? Don't tell me you're going to start with your lectures again."

Alia ignored his tone and sat on the edge of his desk.

"I saw her picture in your room. What are you doing with that girl? Do you even care about her, or is this just another one of your games?"

Josh shot up from his bed, his eyes narrowing.

"What I do with Sarah is none of your business."

"It is my business," Alia snapped, her voice trembling with emotion.

"Because I've seen what you've done to other girls, Josh. You break their hearts, you ruin their lives, and then you move on like nothing happened. Sarah is different. She's—"

"She's what?" Josh cut her off, his voice rising.

"She's special? She's some kind of Goddess? Mom, you don't know her like I do. You're just judging me like you always do!"

"I'm not judging you, Josh," Alia said, her voice breaking.

"I'm trying to protect her. Do you even understand what it means to care about someone? To think about their feelings?"

Josh's jaw tightened, his face twisting with anger.

"Why do you always make me out to be the bad guy? Huh? I'm not some criminal!" He stepped closer to her, his fists clenched.

[ While thinking that josh suddenly remember that day , How he Kill that person or so call Birds]

"You act like I don't know what I'm doing. Like I'm some stupid kid!"

Alia flinched at his tone, but she stood her ground.

"Because you are acting like a pathetic again, Josh! Look at yourself. Look at the way you're talking to me! I'm your mother!"

Josh's face darkened. "Then stop treating me like this! I don't need you interfering in my life. Sarah's mine, okay? Stay out of it! You piece of shi—"

Josh grab his mouth try to speak any further..

Alia's heart sank. Her son, the boy she had raised, was now standing in front of her like a street mad man. The rage in his eyes, the complete lack of empathy in his voice—it broke her. She tried to hold back her tears, but they spilled over.

"Josh,"

she whispered, her voice trembling, "I'm scared for you. For her. You're my son, and I love you, but this... this isn't the way you treat others."

Josh scoffed, turning away from her.

"Spare me the guilt trip, Mom. You don't know anything about me."

Alia wiped her tears, her chest aching. She looked at him one last time, hoping to see some flicker of the boy she once knew. But Josh didn't even glance back at her.

Without another word, she left the room, closing the door softly behind her. As she walked down the hall, her tears came harder. She had always known Josh had his flaws, but this... this was different.

For the first time, Alia truly feared for her son's future—and for Sarah's.

——

As Alia opened the door to leave Josh's room, she nearly bumped into Eithan, who was leaning casually against the wall, munching on an apple. His carefree demeanor immediately shifted when he noticed her tear-streaked face.

"Mom?"

Eithan straightened up, his tone laced with concern.

"What's wrong? Why are you crying?"

Alia quickly wiped her tears, trying to compose herself.

"It's nothing, Eithan. Don't worry about it."

But Eithan wasn't one to let things slide so easily, especially when it came to his mother.

"You're crying, Mom. That's not nothing. Did Josh say something?"

Alia hesitated, unsure of how much to share. She glanced back at Josh's door before looking at Eithan.

"It's... it's about your brother. He's... he's about to ruin another girl's life, Eithan."

Eithan raised an eyebrow, trying to lighten the mood.

"Ruin? Mom, you make it sound like he's out there conquering kingdoms."

"Don't joke about this," Alia said, her voice stern but soft.

"You know how he is. He doesn't think about the consequences of his actions. I can't stand to see another girl hurt because of him."

Eithan paused, his usual goofiness fading for a moment.

"Look, Mom, I get it. Josh can be... a lot. But he's not a bad guy. I mean, come on, he's my little brother. He's just—"

"Immature?" Alia cut him off, her frustration spilling out.

"Reckless? Selfish? Eithan, do you know how many girls he's hurt? Fifty. Fifty girls, Eithan. And I'm not exaggerating."

Eithan whistled, half in disbelief and half to break the tension.

"Fifty, huh? Well, that's... uh, quite the track record." He tried to smile, mimicking Josh's exaggerated expressions.

"But hey, maybe he's just looking for the one. Trial and error, right?"

Alia couldn't help but let out a small, reluctant laugh.

"You're impossible, Eithan."

"That's what they all say," Eithan replied, grinning. He tossed the apple core into a nearby trash can and leaned closer to his mother, his tone softening.

"But seriously, Mom, you've got to have a little faith in him. Josh might mess up—okay, he will mess up—but he's not hopeless. He'll figure it out. Eventuall."

Alia shook her head, her smile fading.

"You're always so optimistic, Eithan. But I've seen what he's done. This isn't about him learning a lesson. It's about the damage he leaves behind."

Eithan sighed, running a hand through his hair.

"Look, I know Josh isn't exactly Prince Charming, but he's still family. And family doesn't give up on each other, right?" He placed a hand on her shoulder, giving it a reassuring squeeze.

"I'll keep an eye on him, okay? Make sure he doesn't do anything too stupid."

Alia studied her son, the one who always seemed to find humor in the darkest situations. Despite his goofy nature, Eithan had a way of making her feel a little lighter, even if she didn't fully believe his words.

"You really think he can change?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Eithan nodded with exaggerated seriousness, putting on his best wise-older-brother face.

"Absolutely. With the right amount of sibling pestering and maybe a few reality checks, Josh will be a reformed man in no time. Or, you know, in like fifty years."

Alia chuckled despite herself, shaking her head.

"You're ridiculous."

"But you love me for it," Eithan said with a wink. He gestured back toward Josh's door.

"Now, go take a break, Mom. Let me handle Captain Chaos in there. You've done enough worrying for one day."

Alia smiled, her heart a little lighter.

"Thank you, Eithan. You always know how to make me feel better, even if you're full of nonsense."

"Hey, nonsense is my specialty," Eithan replied, flashing a grin.

As Alia walked away, Eithan leaned against the wall again, his playful demeanor intact. But as soon as she was out of sight, his smile faded, and he glanced at Josh's door.

"Fifty girls, huh?"

he muttered to himself, shaking his head.

"Damn, Josh. You're really making it hard for me to defend you, buddy."

——

As Eithan leaned against the wall, still contemplating how to handle Josh, he heard the familiar sound of his mother's footsteps approaching again. He sighed, already guessing what was coming.

Alia appeared around the corner, arms crossed and eyebrows raised.

"Eithan," she began in her no-nonsense tone,

"what exactly are you doing out here? And don't say 'nothing.'"

Eithan straightened up, forcing a casual smile.

"Oh, you know, just taking a breather. Thinking about life, love, and the pursuit of happiness."

Alia rolled her eyes.

"Stop dodging the question. Your father mentioned he gave you some work to handle. Where is it?"

Eithan's smile wavered, but he quickly recovered, scratching the back of his neck.

"Uh... yeah, about that. The work. I'm... totally on it. Just taking a strategic pause, you know, to ensure maximum productivity."

Alia's eyes narrowed. "Eithan."

"Mom, I swear," Eithan said, holding up his hands defensively.

"I'll get it done. Just... give me a couple of hours, okay? I've got this."

Alia tilted her head, clearly unconvinced.

"You're lying, Eithan. I can see it all over your face."

Eithan chuckled nervously.

"What? Me? Lying? Never. This is my 'I'm totally responsible' face."

He gestured toward his face dramatically.

"See? Completely trustworthy."

Alia wasn't amused. She stepped closer, her tone softening but still firm.

"Eithan, this isn't a joke. Your father has high expectations of you, and you can't just keep pushing things off. If you don't take this seriously, how do you expect him to trust you with more responsibility?"

Eithan sighed, his carefree mask slipping for a moment.

"Mom, please. I just need a few hours to breathe. I promise I'll handle everything. Just... not right now."

Alia frowned, studying her son's face. Despite his usual playful demeanor, she could sense a hint of exhaustion beneath the surface.

"Why are you like this, Eithan? You're smart, capable, and your father believes in you. So why do you always avoid the work he gives you?"

Eithan shrugged, looking away.

"Because it's never enough for him. No matter what I do, it's like I'm always falling short. He's the seventh richest man in the world, Mom. Do you know what kind of pressure that puts on me? On all of us?"

Alia's expression softened. She reached out and placed a hand on his arm.

"Eithan, your father's expectations might be high, but that's because he knows what you're capable of. He wants to see you succeed, not fail. But you have to meet him halfway."

Eithan sighed again, rubbing his temples.

"I know, Mom. I just... I need time to figure out how to deal with all this. And right now, I just need a break."

Alia hesitated before nodding.

"Fine. A few hours. But after that, you'd better be ready to tackle that work, Eithan. No more excuses."

Eithan gave her a small, grateful smile.

"Thanks, Mom. You're the best."

"Don't push your luck," Alia said, but there was a hint of a smile on her face as she walked away.

As soon as she was gone, Eithan exhaled deeply, leaning back against the wall.

"A few hours," he muttered to himself.

"That's all I need... just a few hours to not be a disappointment."

While Eithan grab josh shoulder and said , his heart full of disspointed —

" Does every family has problem!! Like this Josh!!?? "
