Vampyrias - The City of Vampires, and how I became its Ruler.

Chapter 31: Chapter 31 - Victoria mortuus est

Unexpectedly, we arrived faster than we imagined. Only after half a day, we arrived back in the Palace. To our surprise, the Palace looked like, as if they were already planning for our arrival. The Palace is ordained in a beautiful golden coat and flags are hanging down from the Pillars.

Soldiers are parading and Music is playing.

As I and Elyria land, I immediately ask one of the Superiors what's going on?

But his reply shocked me.

With wide eyes he responded, "Y-your Majesty you... are alive?" He immediately dropped his checklist in shock.

I answer with suspicion, "What do you mean? Isn't this Event orchestrated for me?"

He slowly shakes his Head. "N-no... it... it is for the Coronation... of... of... of..."

I grab his shoulder and tell him with a stern look, "Go on, tell me. I won't get mad at you".

He nods, "We prepare for the coronation of Victoria, as the new Queen."

I stare at him in shock, my eyes widen and my grip on his Shoulder tightens.

"You do what?!?" I yell at him in a threatening tone. He immediately flinches.

I calm myself for a moment, "Sorry, I can't get mad at you." I pull away and turn around towards Elyria. "Alright, we need to go to the Throne Room immediately."

With shock Elyria answers, "What? Why? What happened?".

I shake my head, "You'll find out soon enough." A bit later, we are at the Throne Room. I tell Elyria to wait outside and then step in.

The Door feels heavier and the Room seems darker. But what shocks me the most is Victoria. Sitting on the Throne with a devious grin. As if she is enjoying what she is doing.

"Victoria...?" I ask her carefully. The Dark Aura in this Room thickens, it's almost choking. I feel like I'm the only one who should still be alive by this much. But Victoria doesn't seem to care.

"Who are you?" A voice calls to me. It doesn't sound like Victoria's, but it comes out of her Mouth.

"Don't you recognize me? It's me, Lyara!" I talk in a calm tone, surprising myself. I don't know when it happened, but somehow I'm calmer than before.

Victoria giggles in response. "Finally. You are here. MY LOVE! Finally God's Judgement will be upon you, you Devil!" Without explaining or letting me talk, she instantly jumps towards me trying to infuse me with a large Ball of Dark Energy. But I can react quick enough and defend.

It almost feels like the fight about 10 years ago. Where I was out of Control and-- WAIT! That's it!

But how? I... Oh... I feel... I feel...

I collapse to the ground. My Vision darkens and a dark Aura engulfs me. All the while, I hear devious laughter in front of me.

What is happening? What is going on? How can she best me?

"NO!" I shake my head and stomp my hands on the ground, summoning a shockwave, disrupting the dark fog around me. I can see again. And I look at Victoria.

She... looks like the Devil herself, like... I remember!

Just like back then, when I...

I immediately stop attacking. Instead I try to calm Victoria down. I don't want to kill her. But she won't listen to me.

"Victoria! Please! I'm your best Friend! Don't you recognize me?"

"Best Friend? Ha! So that's how you feel about me? Just a best friend?" She uses another attack on me, this time it is an explosion of Darkness. I can barely evade it.

"How are you this strong? It's almost like you are filled with hate and anger. Just like me back then." I smile gently.

But Victoria ignores me. "You think that I'll fall for my own tricks? Never! You vile demon deserve nothing more but death!"

I ignore her antics and instead open my arms, ready to hug her. "Please, Victoria! Please, accept me! Please, embrace me! We can be whatever you want, even Lovers. Just please, return to me!"

In an unexpected turn of Events, Victoria seems to actually listen. She comes closer to me.

And with a gently smile she opens her arms, standing right before me and she proceeds to--

"Aaaaaah!" I quiver in pain and fall to the ground. Looking up, I see Victoria, unrecognizable and shrouded in darkness. She doesn't look like a Vampire anymore. She looks like a demon, or rather, a Shadow. But I can still see her eyes and mouth. She grins, she grins like a devil.

"You got what you deserved! I'm finally free. I will kill you now. And then, everything here, it will be mine!" With a devious laugh, Victoria attacks me. She hits me and I--

I open my Eyes. I'm not dead? No... instead. Before me is Elyria. A hole is in her Stomach. She...

"NO!" I scream, jumping towards her. I lift up her Head and look into her Eyes.

She is already dead.

"Why... why did you kill her?!?" I turn around to look at Victoria, tears in my Eyes.

But she just laughs. "He! She deserved it. Jumping in front of me." That's all she said. But it's enough for me.

"This is enough! You pest! I will remove you from this Earth! I knew from the Beginning that something is wrong with you! And this time, I will make sure that you'll never live again!"

With one fell swoop, I attack her with a dark blade. I attack her multiple times. Slashing her and slashing her. But something is strange, she isn't resisting. This is too easy.

Suddenly I feel something behind me.

I turn around. It is... "Heira!?!" No. That can't be. She... was practically dead. How is she?

I look below me, to the ground. There lies Victoria.

She is bleeding, but... how? I didn't kill her, did I?

I look up again. Heira has a Blade in her Hand. With a smile she says, "I did what I couldn't do back on Earth. Take Revenge for my Death." With an exhausted giggle, she collapses to the ground.

Luckily she still seems to be alive. But the same isn't for Victoria.

She is...

A hand touches me. Her hand. "Don't worry. I need to thank you. Thank you, for killing me. I will use my last power to... revive her." Victoria looks to Elyria and suddenly she glows and her wounds heal. The same goes for me and Heira. "What are you?" Confused I ask her, but she stops me in the middle of my Question. "Don't ask. I did what I needed to do. I needed to protect you. I needed to let you survive. You... were destined to die the moment you were born. Yet... you survived until you came here. But when I finally got to see you, you were empty inside. Only filled with rage, darkness and Anger. You... you don't deserve such things." She giggles gently, "You... are a great Woman and you... are my proudest Treasure." She smiles Gently,

"You really are... my... Daughter..." Her smile fades and the life in her eyes Vanishes, the same goes for the Darkness around her.

What... has happened? I wonder that to myself. The only thing I can think of right now is... her. Who was she, who was Victoria? Was she really... the Queen? But then... doesn't that mean that she actually was my Mother? But how? I thought it was impossible... But then...

I shake my head, it's all too confusing. And I don't really feel any sadness towards her death. It's as if... it never happened.

I sigh "Well, no matter what happened, we need to fix this Situation." I look around. The Dark Aura in the Throne Room has completely vanished. And... Heira is sleeping.

I run over to Elyria, she is breathing too. But not only that, but her Wounds are also healed and... she is slowly waking up!

"Elyria! How are you?"

She smiles at me. "Fine as ever, as if nothing happened! I didn't know you had this much power!"

I shake my head "No, I didn't it was..." I turn around. "It was her, Victoria. She healed you."

"But... wasn't she trying to kill you?" Elyria seems confused.

"Yes, but suddenly... she didn't want to anymore? It's as if... in her last moments... she was sane again." I sigh "Whatever, you are healed now. And that is all that matters."

We both smile. "Now then. Let me make one thing clear to you. Elyria, I will reward you for your great Courage and rational thinking. You were astounding not only in the Conquest of the Tribes, but also in Protecting me. And I'm sure you'll be able to protect many others too, including this Nation. From now on, you will be the Head of the Military. And thus my Personal Military Advisor and Minister of Defense! Will you accept this role?"

With a look of excitement on her Face, she immediately bows down. "Yes, your Majesty! I accept!"

"Good. You may now raise your Head and stand up."

She does exactly as told. After that, we both laugh for a while, calming down a bit.

But now, there are other Problems, for example... cleaning up this mess...
