Wandering in Omniverse

Chapter 16: Re Ch 15

The next day, Jason arrived at Holy Orchid Institute early in the morning. Looking at the entire street filled with people, he was somewhat dazed.

Jason had only seen such a crowd in highly populated metropolitan cities in his past life.

'How was I supposed to find the person?'

With no better idea, he could only stand helplessly near the queue, his gaze constantly scanning the crowd

"Are you young master Nie Li?"

While he was waiting, a bulky middle-aged man sidled up to him and said.

Jason was pretty calm but he had already positioned his hand to move into action while asking casually. "Do you know me?"

The opponent was only an Early Gold rank, not worth mentioning.

The man smiled and bowed to him. "Please follow me. I'm instructed to guide you."

Jason looked at him deeply before nodding his head. "Lead the way."

The man bowed again and signaled him to follow behind.

A few of the applicants in the line saw that but ignored it, considering Jason to be a noble because only nobles were treated like that...

Jason followed the bulky guy at some distance, observing his every move. He spoke with a sweet smile. "Senior, where are you taking me?"

"Hehe... young master doesn't need to be suspicious. I'm instructed by an elder to guide you to the Principal's office." The man replied while continuing to walk.

"Oh," Jason nodded his head and continued to ask him a few more questions regarding the institute.

The gold-ranked man was more than happy to answer all of Jason's questions honestly. He was specially instructed to not piss off Jason, giving him proper respect.

Very soon, they reached the fifth level, which was a lot quieter than the rest of the academy. This was the level where all the high-ranking members of the academy had their offices.

Leading Jason to the deepest parts of the level, the bulky man finally stopped at a door with a sign portraying the Principal's Office. With a respectful expression, he knocked softly twice on the door.

"Principal, I have brought young master Nie Li."

A calm, elegant voice came from within. "Please enter."

Only then did the bulky guy push open the door and enter together with Jason.

The office was rather large, almost three hundred square meters, and was entirely adorned in a pale yellow look, giving a peaceful yet refined feel. All the furnishing in the room was meticulously designed and well thought out, and right behind a large semi-circular table sat an old man with his long hair and beard pure white as snow.

He was donned in white robes. He had a small, pleasant smile on his face, and his expression was peaceful and calm, without an imposing aura like one might expect from someone of his position.

He wasn't alone in the office. There was also Director Yang from the Alchemist Association and another elderly man donned in grey robes. This grey-robed elder just casually sat down but he gave off a powerful, prestige aura.

"Little brother Nie Li, you're here." Yang Xin greeted him with a smile.

Jason also greeted her back. "Director Yang, we meet again."

"Hehe... little brother Nie Li, call me Big Sis. Director Yang seems a little old." Yang Xin giggled and said. Even President Gu Yan had bowed down to Nie Li's talent, telling him to address him by his name. How could she let him address her like that?

Jason's face twitched at his words but he still nodded his head. "Big Sis Yang Xin then,"

"Little brother, let me introduce everyone to you." Yang Xin smiled sweetly as she took the initiative to be the one to do the introduction. She pointed at the old man sitting in the chair and said. "This is Principal Ye Kai, the principal of the Holy Orchid Institute."

Jason cupped his hand at him in greeting.

Following, she pointed at the grey-robed elder and said. "This is Lord Ye Shuo."

"Greetings," Jason cupped his hands at him, neither humble nor arrogant.

Ye Shou's eyes sparkled with a surprised light before returning to normal. He murmured slowly. "Interesting!"

Yang Xin then introduced two other men present in the office: Ye Sheng, the vice-principal, and Lu Ye, a professor at the Holy Orchid Institute.

In the office, the strongest would be the principal, a 5-star Black Gold rank demon spiritualist, followed closely by Ye Shou. Even though both of them were 5-star Black Gold but the principal was slightly stronger than the latter.

"Lad, what is your cultivation realm? How I'm unable to see through your strength?" Ye Shuo gazed at him deeply and asked.

Jason replied, unfazed by his strong aura. "It's all thanks to my special cultivation art gifted upon me by my master. Even a Legend rank expert will find it difficult to see through my realm. As for my cultivation realm, forgive me sir, but I can't reveal it. The same goes for my cultivation technique."

"I understand." Ye Shuo also did not pry any further, changing his question immediately. "Lad, then will you tell me something about your master?"

"Sir, even if you ask me I can't tell you much. Despite me being his disciple, he never even revealed his name to me. The only thing I know is that my master likes to travel around the world, already completing a trip around the entire Divine Continent. It's my pure luck that my talent was able to impress him, letting me worship him as my master." Jason replied with a calm face, speaking fluently with no signs of making up or lying, and no fluctuation in his aura.

"And where is your esteemed master now?"

"I don't know. The last time, I saw him was in the Infinity Forest in the St. Ancestral Mountain range."

"What?! Infinity Forest?" Ye Shou said loudly, losing his emotions. The piece of information really shocked the elderly expert.

The infinity forest was an infamous place in the St. Ancestral Mountain Range filled with countless demon beasts. Even a legend-rank expert would find it impossible to stay there, with death at every corner.

Jason purposely mixed truth and lies together while giving him information. He could feel that Ye Shou and the principal were not easy people. From start to now, they were observing his every move from the twitching of his facial muscles to his aura's fluctuations, searching for any signs of lies.

Jason was the King of Assassins in his previous life. One look and he could see that both of them were trying to fish out all the information, trying to find out his real background.

Such people were very difficult to deal with even in his previous life. Not complying with them would cause such people to be extremely suspicious and they would resort to extreme methods to get their answers.

But if he mixed lies in truth, then there would be no way for them to find anything, after all, his master didn't even exist in the first place.

Yang Xin on the other hand was very nervous watching the exchange. From President Gu Yan's behavior and words, she could guess how important Jason was to the Alchemist Association. Offending him would only worsen their relationship.

The principal and Ye Shou secretly exchanged looks, their eyes revealing a peculiar light.

Apart from Jason, nobody else noticed anything, their cultivation was too low, same went for their instincts.
