Elder Cao glared at him and muttered, "Haven't you noticed that the town became quiet?"

Only then did everyone else look around and find the entire place empty, not even the owner or the waiter was there.

Gone was the bustle from outside, people no longer walked the street.

The wind breeze passing through the empty streets gave a freighting and eerie feeling.

"The town is suddenly empty, not a single soul in the vicinity."

*Crack*

Just at this moment, a fierce gale blew and a heavy pressure slammed into them.

The inn began to disintegrate, with sawdust slowly falling to the floor.

"Be careful!"

Elder Cao panicked and rushed outside with his companions.

*Rumble!*

A loud noise echoed and the entire inn was razed to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust as it formed a tornado.

Once the dust scattered, they saw dozens of arrows covered with weird inscriptions stuck in the ground.

*Sizzle* *Sizzle* *Sizzle*

A weird voice was coming from them with purple-colored smoke coming from them.

With so many people rushing outside at once, it was bound to result in causalities. Looking ahead, the group saw five of their brothers lying under the rubble. Their bodies were struck by those arrows and the area where the arrows had touched seemed to be melting slowly.

Poison!

Elder Cao and others were horrified by such a scene, a shiver ran down their spines.

This method of abusing someone was so ruthless!

Elder Cao gritted his teeth, the sound easily heard by everyone nearby. His eyes were bloodshot with veins bulging on his forehead. His white hair was floating in the air without the lack of wind and his beard trembling due to anger, his aura radiating from his body kicking off the dust around them.

"Who is it? Who dares to ambush us? Come out! This old man will peel your skin..." He roared at the sky angrily.

In his entire life, he had never been ambushed like that. This is the first for him. Normally, people would look at him in awe and show him respect for being a Heavenly King stage powerhouse but today not only he was targeted but he even failed to save his companions. This made the old man enraged to the point of boiling.

"Tch. Still so many escape." A sneer echoed in the town and a figure appeared at the top of the inn, floating in the air. Draped in black robes with a white oni mask covering the face, the eyes of that figure staring at the group of Heavenly Demon Sect who escaped the attack.

"Who are you? Why are you after us?"

Elder Cao and the other two elders glared at that person, their eyes spitting fire. From his aura, they could tell the newcomer was not weaker than them in terms of cultivation.

A Heavenly King stage powerhouse!

And a peak one to top that.

"Who are your excellency? Why do you target us?"

Elder Cao bottled up his rage, his eyes flashing with a peculiar light. He cupped his hands and asked politely.

"Hahaha... do you want to probe me for my identity? Hmph! You're not worth enough to know that. And as for your second question, I just find you not pleasing to my eyes and decided to do you guys a favor. To wipe you out from this world!"

"You!"

The disciples behind the elder glared at him in anger, wanting to devour him whole.

Elder Cao waved his hand, his attention on the masked guy. "We're the members of the Heavenly Demon Palace. Do you think you can escape from its pursuit after killing us? Even if we die today, you'll not be able to live a leisurely day anymore under our sect's pursuit."

"Hehehe..." Just as his words landed, an eerie laughter echoed over the town.

Looking at the masked guy in the air, they saw him laughing like a devil, shivering all over. It was like he didn't hear the threat but a funny joke.

A powerful pressure radiated from the masked guy and pressed down Elder Cao and the others, pressing them down on the ground, spitting blood out of their mouths.

Elder Cao and the other two elders were petrified, completely lost. The man hadn't even made a move but just with the release of his aura, he had pressured down all of them.

'What great strength! We are not a match at all!'

While the Heavenly King stage elder and the Zong stage disciple were in a state of shock, the figure of that person flashed in front of them, his speed so fast that their eyes couldn't see.

The masked guy made a few hand signs, dozens of golden tadpole-like characters shooting for Elder Cao and Co.

In just a few seconds, their meridians were sealed, rendering them unable to use their strength. They were no different from any fish on the chopping board.

The elders had planned to explode themselves seeing the strength of the masked guy to give a chance to their disciples to escape and told them about the masked guy but now they couldn't even do that even if they wanted to.

At this moment, dozens of black shadows appeared around them, surrounding the masked guy and members of Heavenly Demon Palace.

'My God! He is not alone?! Curse our luck, how did we mess with such a big character?!'

While Elder Cao and the other two elders were shell-shocked, the masked guy waved his hand and spoke in a commanding tone.

"Take them back first! I'll deal with them later."

"Yes, boss!" The black shadows cupped their hands and stepped forward, grabbing the members of Demon Palace like some chickens.

After the prisoners were taken away, one of the black shadows arrived near the masked guy, taking off the robe to reveal a familiar face.

Yi Shi asked, her eyes curious. "Young Master, why did you change the plan at the most important moment, almost sending our side into confusion? Didn't we plan to surround them first, split them from each other, and hunt them down easily? So why..."

The masked guy took off his oni mask revealing Zhou Weiqing's series face. He sighed and tossed a message jade slip to Yi Shi.

Yi Shi caught it and read it carefully, his eyes shivering in doubt and confusion.

"Now you understand. This news has even puzzled me but more so make me act on the spot and change my decision from wiping them out to capturing them instead." Zhou Weiqing released a sigh and said to Yi Shi. "You first return with everyone back to the base. I'll return in the evening and decide their fates."

"Yes, Young Master." Yi Shi bowed before turning around and leaving with everyone, the town became quiet with not a single soul being seen as far as one could see.

Zhou Weiqing gazed at the jade, his brows furrowed. It's a direct order from his master to not kill the elders and just capture them for the time being.
