Chapter 27: Chapter 27: The Church, The Nun, and the Little Boy

The pure white room was utterly silent.

Aponia gazed at the words before her, suddenly feeling a wave of dizziness.

How could the most powerful mental fusion warrior experience dizziness just by looking at some text?

"Mmm..."

The compassionate and saintly nun parted her moist lips, exhaling a warm breath. The sound was so seductive that even Aponia herself was surprised.

Her body swayed slightly, and she raised her hand to her forehead. As her graceful skirts fluttered like a butterfly, a few faint blue lights floated out.

However, unbeknownst to Aponia, the world around her had already begun to reorganize.

Or rather, this pure white space was being reconstructed.

In the early morning drizzle, Aponia, dressed in black, held a black umbrella as she walked through the damp maple forest.

Aponia had originally been an ordinary nurse, but after a certain event, she fully devoted herself to becoming a nun.

That morning, after returning from a free clinic at Grandma Mary's house, she received a pumpkin cake as thanks.

Yet, when she reflected on her life, it all seemed like looking at flowers through the mist — slightly unreal.

Standing in the rain among the maple trees, Aponia paused. She looked up at the sky, where the edges of the dark clouds gleamed white, and small raindrops fell from above.

"Something feels... off..."

Before she could think further, the sound of a baby crying shattered the fleeting moment of unease.

[The baby's cry caught Aponia's attention.]

[She picked up the swaddled infant from the bushes. The child's clear eyes gave her a sense of salvation.]

[She decided to adopt the poor abandoned child.]

[Since she found him in the maple forest, Aponia named him 'Maple.']

[Maple's arrival brought vibrant color into Aponia's previously black-and-white life.]

[The past pains she'd suffered were slowly healed by Maple's presence.]

As Aponia held the infant close to her chest, she lowered her face and pressed her soft lips to his cheek.

"I can't save anyone else — that is my sin. But at the very least, I will save you. Please, live on with me," she whispered, as if rebelling against fate, or perhaps giving herself a commandment.

In Aponia's warm embrace, the baby Maple could feel the smoothness of the beautiful woman's skin, even through her clothes.

"It seems like this 'simulator' isn't so bad after all," 'Maple' thought, gripping Aponia with his tiny hands and imagining what would come next.

[Very soon, Aponia faced her first dilemma.]

[What should the child eat?]

[Formula and milk from hired wet nurses — he rejected it all, leaving Aponia completely at a loss.]

[Aponia knelt in the church to pray, asking the divine for answers. What should she do?]

Baby Maple glanced around.

Though the church was spacious, the light was somewhat dim. Rays of sunlight filtered through the glass ceiling, illuminating the nun bathed in golden light as she knelt before a statue, pure and devout.

Maple couldn't help but take a closer look.

The white veil, woven with thorny patterns, rested upon her head, with a lock of flaxen hair falling over her serene, downcast eyes.

Her pointed chin almost touched her high, tight chest, and the chain of the crucifix she wore disappeared into the deep valley between her hidden assets.

Her upper body radiated an alluring warmth, while her lower body, with its graceful curves, carried an undeniable allure. Delicate blue butterfly wings framed her shapely legs, adding to her ethereal beauty.

A chain-like garter adorned her thigh, slightly indenting her soft, plump skin, inviting attention. A black silk ribbon trailed from her waist to her ankles.

The black attire symbolized solemnity, but on Aponia, it exuded a mysterious allure, tempting one to explore further.

'So beautiful, Aponia,' Maple thought.

'Such sacred nun attire, yet worn so seductively, stirring desire in anyone who gazed upon her.'

[Aponia's prayers were answered by a revelation from fate.]

[Though untouched by any man, pure and untainted, the nun could still produce milk.]

[Maple nursed from her until he was eight years old.]

[Perhaps because of the rich nutrients in her milk, by the age of eight, Maple was already as tall as Aponia.]

[Maple was incredibly intelligent, showing the potential of a prodigy. He had skipped grades and was now in his third year of high school.]

[Maple was Aponia's pride and her dearest hope.]

[However, occasionally, his small, childish requests left Aponia feeling embarrassed and conflicted.]

"I got first place in school again today," Maple said happily as he rushed into the church, eager to share his good news with her.

A genuine smile appeared on Aponia's face as she gently stroked his head.

"Little Maple, you're amazing."

"Well, it's because Aponia-mama wants me to study hard, so I do my best for you. I would do anything for you, Aponia-mama."

"Such a good child."

Aponia hugged Maple, and a warmth spread between them that she had never felt before.

"I'm hungry," Maple said.

"I'll cook something for you right away," Aponia replied, turning away, but Maple grabbed her hand.

"I want... something else."

His eyes drifted toward Aponia's chest, and the pure, saintly nun blushed.

Placing her hands gently on Maple's face, she softly but firmly said, "Maple, you're a big boy now. You can't keep... drinking that. People will make fun of you."

"But I want it! Please, please!" Maple whined.

"Maple."

Aponia's expression turned serious. "Please, don't be so stubborn."

But—

Maple tugged on her hand, begging, "Aponia-mama, you promised that if I came first in school, you'd grant me a wish."

"...I did."

"Well, this is what I want now."

Aponia's face froze, her eyes filled with disbelief.

She wasn't sure if she was more surprised by her "commandments" failing to work, or by Maple's bold request.

"Here? In the church?"

"Yes. Aponia-mama keeps refusing, and I've been hungry for days. If you don't keep your promise, I'll starve."

Maple turned away, sulking.

"...."

Aponia reached out her hand, but he evaded her touch.

Her loving, motherly gaze found no place to rest, leaving her momentarily forlorn.

Her eyes glimmered, and with a sigh of resignation, she finally said, "...Just this once."

"Yay!" Maple cheered as he threw himself into her arms.

The church remained silent, and the grand statue of the goddess looked down in mute observation.
