World of Warcraft: Stormsong

Chapter : Author's note V1

Hey guys, it has been a pleasant journey to write Volume 1 of this fanfiction with all of your support. Your comments had greatly taught me, and dare I say I have so much to improve on. This idea has always been in my mind ever since I was in my teens, actually, this was a rework. Thorwin was originally named Daniel, and Caspian was called Cirias. When I was writing Chapter 1, Thorwin's mother was supposedly Katherine but it would be conflicting to write it since Lady Proudmoore has the same name.

I wrote Volume 1 in order to lay the foundations for each of the characters, especially Thorwin. I imagined a child thrown here and there amidst a war, powerless against the world of adults. He isn't supposed to be the hero at his age, fighting with the alliance against the full might of the orc. He is supposed to be a child, to listen to the talks of the adults, to make friends, to learn everything around him, and even to express his feelings. I wanted to emphasize that feelings last for a long time, I didn't want the feelings to be cast aside easily as if he was a machine just so that the story could continue forward. There should be passing thoughts, of lingering emotions even if he acts contrastly on the outside. Though, each emotion and relationship shown thus far will have its significance in the following volumes.

I admit, however, that it was really hard to write about a kid without skipping until his old enough, I guess it was from a thought that wanted to cover the first and second war through the perspective of our main character. After this, I will add some storylines that will be directly or indirectly connected to some stories in the lore so writing Volume 2 chapters might take some time except the first few chapters.

Anyway, I am having so much fun writing each chapter, even if it's currently just about writing off their emotions and interactions while the war happens in the background. I'll try to answer each question in the comment section, and I accept and will consider suggestions.

What do you guys think of 3,000 words per chapter or should I stick with 4,000 - 5,000?
