WorldCrafter - Building My Underground Kingdom

Chapter 8: Not Enough

[Calculating… Please wait while we make adjustments.]

Another screen then popped up, allowing Ben to modify the color and appearance. He could change the proportions if he wanted, like making one hand bulkier than the other. But Ben only changed the color to jet black.

[Processing… Making final adjustments and calculating the final cost... … …]

"The hell, why is it taking so long!" Ben complained, saying that the interface had been intuitive and fast so far. It seemed the system also had something it was bad at, like, for example, math.

"What's taking so long?"

Ben frowned, then only now realized Elvira was sitting in front of him. Patiently waiting for him to finish. "Creature creation system. I can make my own species under me."

Elvira's eyes lit up, "For real? Tell me in detail."

With Hive Mind and this ability, they could make their own army. Ben didn't hide the information. Even though it was forced, both of them were now in the same boat. The more she heard, the more excited Elvira became. "Forget that power armor! My beloved, we should just hunt down creatures and raise our own army!!! As long as we have enough time, we will be invincible with this ability!"

"Me! Not we! And who knows what kind of limitations it has. I doubt it's that easy to gain new body parts."

[Ding! Calculation completed, sorry for the long wait. Many adjustments need to be made.

Final cost: creature complexity 11, mana cost 367.5 rounded up to 400.

Biomass costs 275.6, rounded up to 300.

System is not good at math, so please don't blame the system for the rounded-up numbers.]

[Please give your creature a new name…

*At the moment, host can only save three creatures, and each design cannot be removed.]

"My Beloved~ don't be like that; what is mine is yours, and so does the reverse. Both of us are one now." Elvira moved closer, tightly hugging Ben.

But he ignored her right now; the system message made him feel annoyed. 'What the hell is this roundup! This is a scam! The difference is a few dozen points, but this means that for every ten or so creatures, he will lose one. Does this system hear what I think!?'

[Ding! System cannot hear your thoughts.]

'Just think of it as paying tax, sir Ben.' Ben's lips twitched, but he was sure the last one was a voice.

'Taxes? Dammit, everywhere is taxes, even a system asks me to pay tax!' He wanted to continue cursing despite his personality change. Tax was something that triggered his deep grievance.

He still remembered how, in his last world, everything was taxed. His income barely paid the bills and was still taxed; eating was taxed, buying items taxed, cigarettes taxed, and even his medical bills had a tax on them. But now, what mattered was the voice.

'System, you can speak!?' Unfortunately, no matter how many times he tried, the system didn't say any more words.

"What is wrong?" Ben looked at Elvira, confused.

"How could you tell I am annoyed?"

"We are bound in soul, of course I could tell." Hearing her flirty tone, Ben thought she wasn't serious. This was probably related to some of her abilities as Aetheris race, her unique skill.

"Nothing much; rather than that, I finished creating my creature. I just need to name it now. Do you have any idea?"

Ben had thought of some names, but so far, each one would make the copyright gods angry. Like for example, one that starts with Z… "Can you tell me what kind of creature you made?"

Ben used his crafting ability to create a figure out of rock. He made almost a hundred of them, making Elvira's eyes widen.

"Why so many?" She asked while studying the figure carefully.

Ben himself was surprised with the result. It was very detailed, even better than his imagination. "Creating one or two still consumed one stone block; might as well make a lot."

"You know, with this, we can do a statue-selling business; I am sure we could get rich easily, hehe…"

"Stop joking, so do you have a good name?"

"Hey, I am not joking. In this area, we may just need violence, But above, near the surface, we need more than strength. I am sure you understand."

"That is for later. Just focus on now." Ben replied with a huff; he disliked politics. In his opinion, it was filled with double-faced people, liars, and scammers.

"Yes… yes… My beloved… how about we name this one Bloodling."

"Bloodling?? Why?"

"There is a creature with a similar appearance in the future. The only difference is its body is all crimson, but the rest is similar."

"Hmm… Let's name it Blackling, then." Elvira looked wide-eyed at Ben. She was at a loss for words.

"So, you weren't lying. You are really bad at giving names." Ben's lips twitched.

"Then give me another one. Do you think Bloodling is good? The creature is black."

"Well, you carved it from stone, even though it's detailed, I don't know its color." Elvira put more thought into it, and then her eyes lit up. "How about we call all your creations Krell? Just add some title behind it for different types."

"Krell… Krell…That is a good name. Does it have any meaning?"

"Yes, Krell is an ancient species, just like humans.

It's said they were the species that invaded the planet and turned everything upside down. They come in legions, have high regeneration, and are very strong." "That is a suitable name then. Alright, I decided I will just name this one Krell Scout."

"A scout?"

"Yes, it's my first creation, so who knows how strong it is."

"Can you modify your creation?"

"No, it's final."

"Let me try to make one." Ben put his palm forward and then used his skill.

[Error… not enough mana.]

'Dammit, I forgot I spent all my mana.'

[Name: Ben Jay Vlontera

Class: Hivemind Sovereign, Builder

Species: $%er$%er

Condition: 100% (perfectly healthy)

Mana: 0/250]

'Hivemind Sovereign is a class? Then what is my species?'
