You Are My Whole Life

Chapter 5: 5. Aloof and Arrogant Man 5_1

Lingzi was right, everyone was moving forward; only she was still lingering in the past and suffering, feeling that Li Chengyun owed her an explanation, owed her an account!

But in reality, he had long forgotten the past and treated her like a familiar stranger upon their reunion.

"You naughty girl." Shen Anlingzi was slightly startled, then smiled. She walked forward to open the car door: "Welcome home!"

The next day, Yu Jingrong requested a year's leave from the company, and returned to Q city with Shen Anlingzi. Returning to the familiar city and walking down the familiar streets, thinking about seeing her missed family, Yu Jingrong's feelings were strong.

It had been three years since she last went home, but nothing had changed in this old residential area, except for becoming more worn.

She had wanted to see her mother many times during the three years she was away, but she was a coward. Even though she had once returned, she still did not dare to go home, afraid of encountering that man again.

And then she hid again, but what was destined to happen would happen.

She took step by step to the front door of her house, but then she hesitated, not daring to knock on the door. She had walked away just like that before, and now she had suddenly returned; she was a little afraid to face her mother, and afraid that she would burst into tears upon seeing her.

Just at this moment, the door suddenly opened, and a woman stood at the door with a garbage bag in her hand.

Time had left deep, old traces on her face, but one could still see that she must have been a beauty when she was young.

Seeing her, Yu Jingrong's entire being seemed to freeze, standing there, gazing at the woman in front of her.

"Jingrong," a voice of surprise sounded and the woman grew excited. The garbage bag in her hands fell to the ground, and she hugged Yu Jingrong in her embrace: "You're back."

"Mom," Yu Jingrong's lips quivered, she forced out the word. Her heart was like a raging tide, her mind filled with countless thoughts as she hugged the woman tightly: "Mom, I'm back! Mom, I've missed you so much!"

She really had missed her so much, her sleepless nights were from missing her too much. Countless times she had dreamt of returning home, lying next to her mother, holding her arm and sleeping soundly, all because she missed her.

"I've missed you too, Jingrong. Don't leave anymore, alright? Promise me you won't leave anymore," mother and daughter sat next to each other on the couch, expressing their mutual longing.

Yu Jingrong smiled brightly: "Okay, I won't leave anymore, I will never leave again!"

Just then, a bedroom door was pushed open and a man, around twenty-five or twenty-six, with handsome features and starry eyes, walked out looking indifferent and cold.

His expression noticeably stiffened when he saw Yu Jingrong, then his expression slowly changed, he began to look somewhat agitated, extremely restless.

"Chenxi, look who's back." Their mother, Huo Shufen, stood up and waved to Yu Chenxi: "It's Jingrong!"

"Brother..." Yu Jingrong also stood up, then walked over, trying to take Yu Chenxi's hand.

But Yu Chenxi, he shook off her hand. Retreating back, creating a distance between them, and from his throat came a few unclear "ah ah" sounds, indicating that he did not want Yu Jingrong to touch him.
