*3rd POV

"So, Tam... what kind of name is that?" George asked, raising an eyebrow at Tam. He was trying to break the silence that hung awkwardly over the dinner table.

"Vietnamese, sir." Tam replied, attempting to be polite.

"Sure... you know, I spent a little time over there." George said, nodding his head. "Army." he added with a smile, but that smile quickly faded. "…Your mom's name isn't Kim-Lee, is it?"

"No, sir." Tam answered, confused, and Sheldon frowned at George's sudden question.

"Why are you asking about his mother?" Sheldon asked after pondering the question but finding no answer in his mind.

"…It's a small country... Mary, how's that food coming?!" George suddenly shouted toward Mary, trying to change the subject.

"Oh... you're really trying hard, huh?" Georgie giggled, seeing George scrambling for words. "Here, let me show you how to start a conversation." Georgie said, turning to Tam. "…Marvel is better than DC."

"…." Tam squinted his eyes at Georgie, while Missy and Sheldon had no idea what Georgie was talking about. George, however, understood. Though he hadn't read Marvel or DC comics in years, he knew what they were.

"Hold on a sec… Marvel is better than DC? You've got to be kidding me." George interjected. "You don't know what you're talking about. DC is better than Marvel. They have epic battles and deeper themes than Marvel."

Tam nodded in agreement with George. "They have creative storytelling and inspire readers! Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman are not only legendary but also embody timeless ideals… especially Wonder Woman." Tam said, looking at Georgie.

"Yeah, especially Wonder Woman." George agreed.

Georgie grinned. "What are you talking about?! DC is just someone's imagination! A baby sent to Earth by their parents?! What kind of parents are those?!" Georgie retorted. "Meanwhile, Marvel has relatable characters connected to our society! They face real-world problems, making them more human-like."

"Oh really? A kid swinging in the middle of the city because of a spider bite? An alien that people think is a god of thunder?" George countered, scoffing at Georgie.

Georgie smirk and scoffed "Yeah, at least our heroes don't wear their underwear outside their pants!"

Tam added, "DC characters are archetypes. Batman's transformation from a traumatized child to a symbol of justice exemplifies resilience and determination."

"What about X-Men?! X-Men is an allegory for social issues like… discrimination." Georgie shot back, smirking as if he'd hit a nerve.

George glared at Georgie before responding, "Superman symbolizes hope and truth. Wonder Woman symbolizes equality and justice."

"Yes, DC characters are not just superheroes but symbols of humanity's aspirations to surpass boundaries." Tam added in agreement with George.

"Oh, please. Have you read The Night Gwen Stacy Died or The Dark Phoenix Saga? Marvel isn't afraid to take risks, tackling death, betrayal, and sacrifice. Those are things that happen in real life! Maybe Tam doesn't get that, but you, Dad? Really? I don't know why you don't like Marvel." Georgie sighed, accusing George.

"What?! I never said I don't like Marvel! It's just—you said Marvel is better than DC!..." George stammered, suddenly panicking as if he were on a podcast, afraid of being canceled.

Missy and Sheldon still didn't understand what they were talking about. Missy felt like she was watching a tennis match, her head moving left and right as each person spoke, despite not understanding the debate.

Sheldon knew what Marvel and DC were but didn't read the comics because he considered them childish.

"What are you guys talking about?" Mary appeared, carrying dinner, looking like a messiah parting the seas. "I decided I was going to make you a real Texas dinner." Mary said with a smile.

"Thank you." Tam said politely, glancing at Georgie as if to say, This isn't over.

"Georgie, Dad, and Tam were talking about comic books." Sheldon explained to Mary.

"Oh, really?" Mary looked at George, who awkwardly sipped his drink, avoiding her gaze.

"…Just an old hobby, no big deal." George muttered, dropping the subject. Mary didn't press further.

"Okay, let's say grace." she said, reaching for George's and Missy's hands but turning her gaze to Tam. "Now, Tam, when I say 'Jesus,' feel free to say the word 'Buddha' in your head." she added with a smile, attempting to show tolerance.

However, Tam, misunderstanding Mary's intent, responded, "Actually, I'm Catholic." He smiled at her.

Mary, slightly taken aback, replied, "Oh, well, that's too bad." dismissing the comment. They said grace and began eating dinner, punctuated by awkward conversations about Tam's family.

*Georgie POV

This is really fun! Tam's story feels like something straight out of a TV series. Ku Klux Klan? Damn. Tam's really lucky he didn't get killed by them!

"Hey, Georgie." I heard a girl's voice and turned to see Kayla standing next to me.

"Hey, Kayla. Where are James and Edo?" I asked, noticing they weren't with her.

"They're already in class." Kayla said, walking beside me.

"So, what's up?" I asked, wondering why she suddenly approached me.

"Nothing." Kayla replied with a smile.

"Really? I thought you three were always together." I said, looking at her curiously.

"We've been friends since middle school, but that doesn't mean I have to be with them all the time." Kayla said. Then, her tone shifted, "Oh, look, there's your slut." She smirked, nodding toward Veronica, who was glaring at us. Her voice was loud enough for others to hear, and I sighed, gently bonking her on the head.

"Don't call her that…" I said, and Kayla rubbed her head, pouting as she glared at me.

"Go to your classroom." I added firmly. Kayla opened her mouth as if to argue, but I just gave her a serious look, and she finally huffed before walking away.

"Hey, Veronica." I said, walking toward her with an irresistible smile.

"Who's that girl?" Veronica asked, her tone sharp and her face annoyed.

"That's Kayla, a new friend I just met. By the way, you look more beautiful than yesterday." I said, smoothly changing the topic to avoid a confrontation.

"…Are you saying I didn't look beautiful yesterday?" Veronica shot me an annoyed glare.

But who am I? I'm Georgie, the Ladies' Man.

"Girl, I said more beautiful. That's a big difference, you know." I replied, brushing her flowing hair back behind her ear.

"…Good enough." Veronica said, a smile finally gracing her face. "Where are you going?" she asked, walking alongside me.

"Class, of course. You're not skipping, right?" I teased, smirking at her. "Are you skipping class with your boyfriend?" I emphasized the word boyfriend to poke fun at her.

Veronica blushed, flustered by my comment. "Actually, I'm n—" she started to explain, but I cut her off.

"I know." I said with a knowing smile.

"Wha… what? What do you know?" Veronica stammered, looking at me nervously.

"Of course, I know you don't have a boyfriend right now." I said casually, not missing a step.

Veronica stopped in her tracks, shocked, but I kept walking.

"Then why won't you kiss me!" Veronica suddenly exclaimed loudly.

"I kissed you before, didn't I?" I pointed to my forehead. "Right here."

"That's not a kiss!" Veronica protested, stepping closer to me. "You should kiss me on my lips." she whispered, wrapping her arms around mine.

I looked at her and then at her hand, which was now resting on my arm as her body pressed against mine.

"…" I stopped walking and turned to look at her face. "…You should stop smoking. It's bad for you." I said seriously. From the moment we started talking, I could smell the cigarette smoke on her, and it bothered me. I was a smoker in my past life, but I'd resolved not to do it again.

Veronica pulled her arm away and stepped back. "…Sorry." she said quietly before walking off.

"Huh…" I sighed, not chasing after her. I'm done begging women to stay by my side. This is my fun world now.

I headed to class and saw Sheldon pulling out his supplies to start the lesson.

"Shelly!" I called, smiling as I approached him. My family is a different matter—I love them very much!

"Georgie." Sheldon greeted me with a polite nod, like a little gentleman.

"What are you doing this afternoon?" I asked as I took my usual seat to his left. That spot had practically become my permanent place.

"Tam and I are building a rocket. In fact, that's how our relationship started—he likes rockets, and I like science." Sheldon said matter-of-factly.

I squinted at him. "…You're not building a rocket with uranium, are you?" I asked, catching the guilty look on his face. He wasn't taught how to lie.

"Mom said I could build and launch it!" Sheldon defended himself, turning away from me.

"…Oh, poor creatures. I hope your rocket doesn't disturb the squirrel family living nearby… but I'll pray for them." I said, feigning worry. "You know squirrels have excellent memories, right?"

"…" Sheldon knew this. He'd read about it after the first rocket incident.

"…But Mom said it might just be a rat family." Sheldon added.

"Even worse! You know rats can live anywhere, right? In the house's walls, the kitchen, or… skewers!" I teased, smirking as Sheldon gulped nervously.

"…Did you already get the uranium?" I asked, silently praying he'd say no.

"…Yes." Sheldon admitted, and I looked at him in alarm.

"Damn, Shelly… you can't just buy that stuff! We're telling Mom and Dad about this, alright?" I said, exhaling deeply.

Sheldon still insisted on building the rocket, but he finally relented when I reminded him how angry and disappointed Mom would be.
