You’re Supposed To Be The Villain, But You Effortlessly Win Over The Female Leads?

Chapter 24:

Chapter 24:

In the past few days, Song Lin was utterly exasperated by her colleagues. The moment anyone saw her, they would ask, “What’s going on with you and Old Jiang? Are you really going to divorce him?”

The second question always followed: “Old Jiang is a good man. He stays at home, and doesn’t get into trouble outside. He’s just too kind, that’s all. Isn’t that a small issue? Why not reconsider the divorce?”

Even her closest friends, the ones who usually supported her, began to advise her, “Maybe you should let it go. Don’t expect too much.”

Song Lin heard this advice so many times that her face hardened each time it came up.

There were so many things she wanted to say, but the words seemed stuck in her throat. It was as if, in everyone’s mind, she and her son were the ones in the wrong, while Jiang Jiandang was some kind of saint.

Feeling overwhelmed, Song Lin took leave from work and didn’t even want to go back.

When Jiang Feng suggested they appear on the show, she resisted immediately.

“Son, why do we need to go? We’re getting divorced anyway. Why make a spectacle of it on TV?” she said, worried about what people would say.

If they appeared on the show, wouldn’t the public criticism only get worse?

“Mom, don’t worry,” Jiang Feng said with a calm smile. “I’ll handle everything. If we don’t take care of this now, he’s going to keep feeding off us like a parasite, sucking us dry.”

“But…”

“Maybe at first, Dad really did want to get back together with you. But now? Now that he’s gotten a taste of fame, his motives are different.”

“Alright…” Song Lin finally gave in.

In recent months, she had developed a deep trust in her son, especially after discovering how much money he had made. Her faith in him grew stronger.

“Don’t worry, Mom. I’ve got this.” Jiang Feng reassured her.

The weekend came quickly.

When Jiang Feng arrived at the recording studio, Jiang Jiandang was already in makeup, dressed in a sharp suit, looking far more polished than usual.

He appeared clean, neat, even somewhat handsome.

For the show, Jiang Feng and his mother sat in the audience while Jiang Jiandang took the stage first.

After the host finished his introduction, Jiang Jiandang stood as the first guest.

“Hello, host,” he said with an awkward bow, scratching his head nervously. “I’m a middle school teacher. I came here today hoping you could help me convince my wife and son to come back. They… they…”

His voice faltered, and his eyes reddened.

He looked pitiful and vulnerable, and the audience watching the livestream felt a wave of sympathy.

[Sisi: My heart breaks for Teacher Jiang. He’s such a good man, and all he wants is for his son and wife to forgive him. I don’t think he did anything wrong!]

[Weiwei: How can kindness be considered a mistake?]

The audience was firmly on Jiang Jiandang’s side.

Even Li Xin, the host, seemed to be rooting for him.

“Hello,” Li Xin began, “Could you briefly explain why your wife wants to divorce you, along with your son?”

“Don’t be afraid. Just tell the truth. We’re here to help.” The host added.
