Chapter 9: CHAPTER 9: Dual Academy Orientation (Part 1)
The meeting with Mokuba took a bit of time.
It was not an in and out sort of deal.
He was more than willing to sell me a small plot of land in the forest located between Obelisk Blue Dorm and the Central Building where classes took place.
I also arranged to have my meals catered to me by the Obelisk Blue Cafeteria.
I wanted to make sure my living arrangements were as comfortable as possible and had to go right to work.
I had 2 weeks to secure living quarters for myself and wanted to make sure everything was perfect at least 3 days before my arrival.
To get this done, I outright purchased a 1/3 of an acre which included a small portion of the lake that situated next to the Obelisk Blue Dorm.
I then called up a general contractor to build a very cozy fairy tale like house near that lake but was still obscured from view.
The lake in general was around 2 acres by itself.
I also needed to make sure I had a form of transportation to and from the Academy Building.
This was solved by simply ordering a custom made golf cart for myself with off-rad capabilities and high end suspension.
This unassuming beast can take on all terrains and weighed half a ton.
It also had a Biometric and Retinal scanner in case I lost my keys.
The best part though, was the Butt Scanner.
Yes, you heard me right.
I said Butt scanner.
If the cart did not have my butt impression in any of the seats, the vehicle would never start.
That being said, I called up the general contractor and had them start on the building right away.
You would be surprised how money can be considered a great motivator.
Yes, I had to pay 50 percent more than market price but I felt it was worth it.
I had already drawn up the plans and sent them to the builder to get right on it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2 weeks later...
I was standing on the docks on Central Academy Island with my Slifer Red Blazer.
To be honest, I had to fight tooth and nail from all sides to allow this to happen.
The Dean, Mokuba, as well as the Chancellor insisted I be put in Obelisk Blue but I did not budge.
I want to see the treatment I would receive.
Being underestimated is always a forte in my books.
All students get a weekly stipend.
The higher the rank the higher the stipend.
You can also exchange money for DP as well the stipend was irrelevant to me and made it known to them.
They still didn't agree and tried to fight me tooth and nail on this.
Mokuba even went as far as to tattle on me to my mother, can you believe this guy?
That conversation was another headache for me as well but ultimately, father convinced her that it should be fine as I wouldn't even be staying at the dorm.
According to Father, Mother was worried I would be bullied by the other students or that I would isolate myself too much.
So they set a condition stating that by the end of the year, I would need to get at least one friend.
This didn't seem to be too hard considering Jaden's personality so I agreed right away.
The journey there wasn't too difficult.
We came by helicopter and the trip itself was a breeze.
"Everyone, please line up in a single filed line and follow me!!"
I looked to notice everyone following a professor to enter the academy together.
As we walked in I noticed how huge the academy building itself was.
The building took up at least 4 acres of land at the center of the island.
The hallways were clean with marble and the facilities were no joke.
I can tell Kaiba spent a fortune on this project.
As the professors ushered us into a large unused classroom with a Projector display set up, I looked around to see the crowed.
I noticed the key figures of the story.
Jaden with light brown kuriboh hair was standing and chatting really friendly with a light blue haired midget.
They were both wearing Slifer red uniforms like me.
Off the the corner, I noticed Chazz Prinston with his Obelisk blue uniform with 2 of his Cronies.
In the center surrounded by other intellectuals like him was Bastion Misawa fashioning a Ra yellow uniform.
"This is gonna be one fun year." I mumbled to myself with a smirk.
suddenly the projection turned on and the Chancellor came into view.
"Good Morning and welcome my students."
The chancellor himself had a bit of a gut and fashioned a Red uniform.
He had a friendly demeaner and looked the part of a friendly uncle.
"I Chancellor Shepherd, the headmaster here and you are the best and the brightest young duelist in the world. Now please, get yourself settled in you assigned dorms. I think you will find them quite comfortable depending on how high you ranked of course. hahaha"
After that, the students all started to file out and cluster together.
I noticed Jaden and Syrus hanging by a monument checking out their PDA's to locate their dorms as I walked over to them.
"Well, I don't know about you Sy but it looks like I'm in the Slifer Red Dorm." said Jaden.
Sy was on the other side and responded
"That's cool, same with me."
At that point Bastion Misawa walked out as Jaden called out to him.
"Hey, you in red too?"
Bastion just smiled as he responded.
"Well now, lets see here, yellow sleeves, yellow buttons, I don't think so"
Jaden, looked at his own attire as a realization across his face.
"Oh, I get it. That's why Sy and I are in Red."
"Please don't tell me you've just figured that out now." Bastion said with a dumbfounded expression.
I cut in at that point.
"Well, he could make a case that he was color-blind" I said with a smirk.
Bastion seemed to ponder that fact.
"That is true. Are you color-blind?" he said to Jaden.
I responded instead.
"Of course not. He just admitted he was wearing red not to long ago." I said with a chuckle.
"True" Bastion said with a smirk in return as he walked towards me.
I extended my hand out to them.
"I am Shiro. Nice to meet you three" I wanted to make sure I gave him a positive impression of me.
"I'm Bastion, I don't remember seeing you at the practical examination. Are you an upper year?" He returned my shake.
"No, I am first year like you. I was very busy that day so I opted to take my written and practical exams early." I said with a grin.
I moved to Jaden and Syrus as I offered them a handshake.
"Hey, names Jaden and this is Syrus!" He and Syrus shook my hand enthusiastically.
"Wow, since your in red, I guess that means we will all be staying together from now on." I chuckled.
"Not exactly, I have alternative accommodations but I will take the time to stop by every once in a while." I said with a gentle smile as I walked back into the building to talk to the staff about my Golf Cart situation.
"Alternative accommodations? Was that allowed?" Bastion mumbled to himself as he watched me walk back inside.
