Chapter 1: I Am A Grey Knight!

'I Am The Hammer.

I Am The Tip Of His Spear.

I Am The Main About His Feet.

I Am The Bane Of His Foes And The Woes Of The Treacherous.

I Am The E-'

*thump*

"Cloudius, it's time to move." I opened my eyes and nodded my head. My brother in arms, Argentus Wallas. He stood before me fully armored and fully prepared. Something that took me a bit more time to achieve.

"Put on your helmet, this isn't the first time you've seen something like this." He added, slapping my shoulder and walking ahead of me.

Looking at the crest embroidered onto his back, I wondered how he could be so prepared to leave such a beautiful scene and willingly return back to hell.

For an instance my brain went silent. I tossed the small, pink and delicate little flower from my grasp and focused as my helmet decompressed the air inside my helmet.

'I Am A GreyKnight. Hell Is My Paradise." I steeled myself.

.

.

.

"We make landfall in 5 hours. Stay vigilant." The message sent from Brother-Captain Roman ended and I turned my head, watching as our fleet of spacecrafts blew through this endless sea of darkness and stars.

I looked beside me and watched as Argentus kept his gleaming blue eyes on the void in front of us as he drove the ship.

"What is it, Brother Cloudius?" Argentus asked, keeping his eyes ahead.

"Just thinking about the planet we'll be purifying this time around." I pulled up the information on my vambrace and summarized its contents.

"A demonic Incursion that's already taken over an entire planet. Somehow it went under our radar for so long it's begun stretching out to its orbiting moons. The information here isn't as detailed as I'd like it to be."

"So what? You scared?"

"Surely you jest? I fear no vile creature of the warp. We are the soul hunters of chaos and my blade will be their doom." My words carried my pride and creed as they reached the ears of my brethren.

"YOU GUYS HERE THAT? HE PLANS TO TAKE ALL THE GLORY FOR HIMSELF!!" At the sound of Argentus' voice my brothers roared in defiance.

"AS IF I'D LET YOU CUT DOWN EVEN ONE!!"

"IF YOU TAKE THEM ALL DOWN YOU'LL HAVE TO TAKE ME NEXT!!"

"LEAVE SOME FOR THE REST OF US!!"

"SUCH GREED!! THERE'S A WHOLE PLANET TO SHARE!!"

.

.

.

Listening to them shout at me, I caught a glimpse of Argentus glancing at me and I could tell he was feeling somewhat proud.

"We are Grey Knights! Our entire lives we've spent working towards moments like these and our entire lives we've trained to experience the time when it's over! Our purpose and reason is clear and simple, brother."

His words alone set my soul ablaze. Such inspiration could only come from a sworn brother in life and death! The feeling of pride, compassion and ambitious swelling inside me made it hard to distinguish which were mine and which came from my brotheren, but it felt good nonetheless.

"I know you were nervous too. You could've just put the ship into autopilot, heh!"

"Oh shut up!"

Following that, I focused my mind, repeating the holy scriptures to myself while keeping my senses sharp for anything unexpected.

Like that, before I knew it, we had made it just outside the reach of the Incursion.

"Look at it. Such a wretched phenomenon." Argentus cursed the sight.

"Indeed, may the touch of the Emperor heal this planet and erase it's diseased body. May the approach of retribution clense this planet of it's demons and return it to it's once beautiful self." Saying that prayer, I touched the golden cross that dangled along with the other ornaments and badges that adorned my power armor.

"Prepare for landfall!!" At the command from our captain, we all jumped into action! Equipping my utility belt and attaching a pouch on my leg guard, I held a small pole firmly in my hands as I went over and stood in a capsule-like are of the spacecraft.

"ALRIGHT EVERYBODY, LETS PURGE THESE WORTHLESS BASTARDS!!" The moment Argentus roared we were each enveloped in a blue light!

------

*Ptsssss~*

As if the heavens sent down its warriors to cleanse the planet, hundreds of blue beams of light blasted down from above releasing a high pitched frequency along with it.

In that same instance, Cloudius activated his nemesis weapon and with a swift spin of his blade, the heads of demonic creatures were launched into the air!

Blood painted his silver armor as he raised his empowered blade and brought it down, splitting a lesser demon in half as a wave of psyker energy cleaved more in its path!

One of the disgusting abominations lunged at him from above, Cloudius smoothly swung his halberd in a circular motion, creating a wheel of retribution that sent blood flying.

His glistening armor of heavenly will, bulldozed through waves of the demonic entities as he silently swung his blade.

With every dozen demons maimed, 100 more would come back to replace them! The battle seemed endless, but as too was the will of the Emperor that sent these soldiers of heaven into hell!

"I see yooouuuu~" The demon whispered into his head.

Cloudius looked between the fodder as buckets of blood obscured his vision. His eyes and targeting systems searching for the high demon that caused such treachery to this planet.

"I see your so~uuuulll~"

Unable to make contact with the demon, Cloudius summoned his will as a fierce, grey aura burned around him and with an magnificent burst of psychic energy he cleared more than 1000 demons in one go.

"You're words do not sway my heart nor shake my WILL! Cease your tricks and face me you wretched creature!" With a spiteful tone Cloudius reached into rhe pouch on his leg guard and layed out a talisman on the bloodied ground beneath him.

Over his head, the disgusting sight of something with twisted and nightmarish flesh coupled with jagged bones and tattered wings flew over his head.

Taking aim, he fired three rounds from his built-in Storm Bolter, blowing the demon from the sky and creating a rain of blood and organ traces.

"iiiimmmmpressive~ It's impressive that even as your Emperor sit idly on a throne, rotting away, you give your life to that scum! Come with us and-"

"IT'S FUTILE!!" At the might of his roar, his energy fluctuated across the battlefield, his intense spirit resognated with his hundred brethren, impowering each other simultaneously!

{We Will Not Falter! Prepare For Air Support At All Designated Locations!!}

The captains transmission ended with the strength of his brethren coursing through Cloudius as he empower his great weapon even more, lashing out with devastating wavss of psychic energy, completely destroying the creatures of the warp.

He advanced forward, taking a signal bomb from his waistline and tossing it into a dense population of demons.

'This situation isn't good. Was this world a wasteland before the Incursion? There isn't a single sign of infrastructure!" His thoughts swarmed as he fought on, receiving another transmission.

{Brother Cloudius, pair with me and set a double layered clensing dome.}

"I've already started over here! Make your way to my location, I'm nearly done!"

{Copy, in route to your coordinates!}

Blowing the head off of a demon beside him, Cloudius plaved another talisman on the ground amd again advanced.

The cries of the slain demons, the sinister cackling of the ones who still live and the constant whispering of the high demon molded together to shake the Grey Knights' will!

He riased his halberd and impaled a demon.

He took aim with his Bolter and eviscerated 20 more.

His heavy armor, now a bloody red badge clammered and hummed with each action. One step acoss the battlefield pushed up a grotesque mix of blood, flesh, bone and internals.

He wiped his visor with one hand and beheaded a demon with another.

His armor was struck, but the low class demon was purified among contact.

They tried their magic, but the protective inscribings and talismans that adorned the terminator armor defended against the magic and Cloudius shot back with power dwarfing their own.

From above, Argentus was able to meet up with Cloudius and the two layed seige, just like they have done a countless number of times before.

....

(45 Hours Later)

I raised my wepon and disbanded what seemed to be the last of an endless nightmare. Inside the ruins of a city, me and my brethren stood tall among the horrors that dominated this planet.

"Damn Cloudius, you look like you belong to the Blood Angels!" Argentus joked, saying so as if everyone wasn't covered in multiple layers of dry blood.

"I can't wait to give my armor a nice wash and clense." I replied, sighing heavily as I was about to take my helmet off.

*Cliiinnng*

A hand held the helmet onto me as a shadow towered over from behind. Even without looking I could tell who it was or what what it was. And I felt nothing but admiration.

"Brother Cloudius, only this battle has been won. We're going to purge a small section of it's moon immediately." A strong and demanding voice fit of a captain.

I turned around and put a fist to the Liber Demonica on my chestplate, receiving a nod of acknowledgement from the captain.

"As a brother of the Terminator Squadron, I expect to see many more great things from you. All of you." When he said those words, I could feel his eyes beaming at the black skull badge with three golden swords running through it.

A medal given to those who have killed high ranking demons. In my 140 years of service, I've slain 3 with my halberd. My brothers call me Cloudius; The Sky Terror.

It both a play on my name and based off the fact I killed the demons with a surprise attack from the sky, although it was tactfully calculated.

Argentus pat my shoulder with a slight chuckle and begun to walk away, but I heard his footsteps stop in motion.

I turned and laid eyes upon one of my brothers in arms, being carried over to us. A brothers in our Terminator Squad, dead with a huge wound nearly splitting him and his armor in half.

It's been 35, years since I last seen something this happen and once again, it's brother Minaro who has fallen.

His intestines and bodily organs could barely stay inside his split abdomen. His helmet was squished flat with blood and brain matter seeping through the openings.

Seeing this hadn't shaken me or my resolve, but how could I not pity my fellow soldier.

"Dont pity him, Cloudius. This could have been any one of us. If anything, make the demons feel your rage even beyond the warp! Make the heat of your anger be the only wepon you need to exterminate their foul existence!"

The squardron grew silent along with the other teams around us.

"For now, we must honor him as traditions guid us."

Following that I gave the prayer and we indulged in yet another horrid feast of tradition.

....

Grey Knights' 2nd Terminator Squard, Ambushed by Horde of The Nether. Fate Unknown.

-------

In a world far far away, a rift in the sky crackled as objects of unknown nature were blasting through the atmosphere, sure to impact the ground heavily.

To all that were abls to lay eyes upon the cosmic event, their spirits were filled with a sense of strong dread and sorrow.

They all knew by no means was this an event that would bring prosperity, but more dread and woe into the land and the hearts of the natives.
