A Cursed Reincarnation

Chapter 5: 5. The Decision has been made

The room was silent after her declaration as Armaros looked at his mother with wide eyes of shock as his mouth hung open. Mary gasped as she covered her mouth with her hands in shock at the words of the matriarch. Even his own sisters were surprised at her verdict as their eyes widened a bit as they looked at their mother, shocked that she would actually do that.

"Wh-What?" Armaros asked in shock as he looked at his mother as he couldn't believe his eyes.

"We have decided to exile you from the clan. While you will be a part of the clan, you are no longer allowed to enter our territory and you cannot freely get our help." Aurelia said to him calmly as if she hadn't just given the order to exile her own child.

"B-But... why exile? I mean, I know I'm not as strong as the others but—" Armaros said as he looked at her.

"Your power is not enough. Your progress is too slow, your body is weak, your Mana capacity is weak, you get tired easily whenever you use magic, you can't use Mana with martial arts. In all aspects, you are too weak." Aurelia said to him calmly.

Armaros felt his world crash at her words, hearing the harsh words from his second mother's mouth caused his breath to get caught in his throat, as she was sounded far more ruthless than his first mother.

"You can't. You can't just exile me like this. I'm your son." Armaros said to her as he looked at her as he felt distraught.

His sisters looked at him. Claudia and Arianne felt their fingers twitch when they looked at him. Solana and Fleur clenched their fists unconsciously as they watched him. Valeria gripped her hand rests tightly for a second. The five sisters became aware of their involuntary actions before their controlled their bodies and looked at their brother.

"You are a disgrace to the Clan, Armaros. For many centuries, the children of this Clan have upheld it's honour and there have been many children of varying strength. However, there has never been one so weak as you." The first elder said to him.

"You have the blood of your progenitor flowing through your veins, and you should've been born with great power. And yet, you do not have the power and are only slightly stronger than the normal man." The second elder said to him with a hard gaze.

"How do you think the other noble families will think when they realise that we still harbor a weak child like you? The Dawnbringer Clan, one of the guardian families of humanity, taking care of a weak child like you?" The third elder said to him with a condescending tone.

"You bring shame to our ancestors with your very existence, for there has never been a child so weak and pathetic as you in our history." The fourth elder said to him with disgust, as if the fact that he is alive is an affront to them.

Armaros flinched as he was never directly insulted like this, and the worst part about it was that he kind of agreed to it as he was quite weak compared to the rest of his sisters which didn't help much.

"Mom. I don't know how the outside world is. You can't just expect me to suddenly get familiar with it." Armaros called out to his mother as he looked at her.

Aurelia just looked at him with cold eyes before she raised her left arm, and then Holy Light gathered in the form of a tip as his eyes widened. She shot the energy as he immediately crossed his arms and gathered his own Mana in front of him as it hit.

"Gaaah!" Armaros cried out as he was slammed into the floor by the attack.

"M-Master Armaros!" Mary shouted in shock at seeing him being attacked.

Even his own sisters were shocked that he was attacked as their mother looked at him with the same gaze. He groaned as he raised his arms and saw that his forearms have been singed by the attack.

"M-My arms." Armaros said in pain as his arms trembled.

He groaned as he slowly stood back up as he started to use magic to heal his wounds as he looked at his mother.

"That attack didn't have the force needed, and yet it still managed to damage you like this. If I was even a bit more serious then you would've lost your arms." Aurelia said to him coldly.

Armaros opened his mouth but he wasn't able to say anything as he just looked down as he knew that the decision has been made. And Aurelia also understood that he has accepted their decision.

"You have a day to prepare and then I shall see you out." Aurelia said to him in a tone of finality.

Armaros looked at her at that before he glanced at Mary who is watching him with fear and nervousness due to the situation.

"Can I at least ask for something before I go?" Armaros asked her nervously, and there was a tone of fear in his voice.

Aurelia took note of the slight change in his tone, but she ignored it as she looked at him.

"Speak." Aurelia said to him as he looked at her.

"My caretaker, Mary. What will happen to her after I leave?" Armaros asked her as he looked at his mother.

Mary was surprised at his question as she glanced at the Matriarch nervously.

"Even if she has been working as your caretaker, she has excellent skills as a maid, so she shall become one of the normal maids in the mansion." Aurelia said to him without missing a beat as he thought for a second.

"Then, raise her salary to be even greater than when she was taking care of me. And also make sure that she is protected." Armaros said to her as Mary's eyes widened.

"M-Master Armaros, there is no need for you to ask that for me. You should use this chance for yourself." Mary said to him as she looked at him.

"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing. So, can you do that?" Armaros asked her as he looked at her.

"Of course, that is a simple request." Aurelia said to him with a nod.

"Thank you. That's... all I want. I'll get... ready." Armaros said slowly as if he was also getting used to this.

"Then you are relieved." Aurelia said as she stood up alongside the elders.

Armaros didn't wait for his mother to leave as he left the room followed immediately by Mary. He made a beeline towards his room as he has a frown as his caretaker made sure to be with him.

They reached his room as he walked inside and sat on his bed as he sighed to himself as he leaned forward and placed his head on his hands as he sat there.

"M-Master Armaros, you didn't have to do that for me." Mary said to him as she felt hurt from seeing him like this.

Armaros looked at her at that before he pat the spot beside him as she went and sat there. He then leaned on her and hugged her as she returned the hug and rubbed his head.

"I'm sorry this happened." Mary said as she held him.

She felt great pain for him, after all, she is the one who raised him as it was her duty as his nanny. So she cares deeply about him and couldn't believe that Aurelia would actually give an order like that to her own son. But alas, she is just a normal maid in the mansion and can't do anything to sway the elders and the Matriarch.

"It's fine. I suppose a part of me thought that something like this would happen. Can you help me pack?" Armaros asked her as she nodded to him as she knew that the decision was final.

"Yes..." Mary said in a sad tone as she knew that it was done.
