A Tale That Never Known

Chapter 2: Lu is something more

Little Lu stood on the soft white ground, this endless white land is something she don't understand. She looked up, her greyish-blue eyes gazing at the up of the horizon that is nothing but also white. This time she notice that it was cloudy? Or is it not exactly white like.... but still, everything IS STILL so white. She don't have much sense of knowledge. She don't know what is call 'time' or if the time in this place might never exist. The Land of White never changed. It's not like what we know of 'Earth', here was no sun to rise or moon to set. Was there a day? Was there a night? But anyway, Little Lu don't know that existence.

Little Lu wondered why it's white including her? She didn't know. She didn't know what is existence in this world of white. Something is waiting for what? Lu wasn't sure. She blinked, and then, without thinking, she whispered softly, "Lu... Luu... Lu!" Her words echoed in the silence. It felt good to say them, though they were the only words she knew. It was like a calm soothing coming from her that accompany this existence, a rhythm, just for her. Suddenly, Little Lu felt a strange burst of energy. She wiggled her tiny feet and hopped forward, her body feeling light. She began to twirl in the air, spinning around in a circle. Her feet tapped on the soft ground as she danced and ran, giggling to herself.

A discovery of what she can do with this form of body. There was no sound except for her own little voice saying, "Lu, Luu, Lu!" over and over again. Breathe, she thought, suddenly aware of the air around her. This feeling that rise her chest and the soft sounds from the nose entering and out. She took a deep breath, feeling it fill her chest. Blink. Her eyes fluttered, and she felt the world around her more clearly now. She could feel her body moving, could feel herself. Then, with a little too much excitement, she spun too fast. She lost her balance, and before she knew it, she was falling. Fall...Little Lu tumbled to the ground, landing softly with a gentle thud. She felt a strange feeling in her body. Luuu! Something sharp was tugging at her. Pain? Yes, it was pain. She had never felt this before, and it confused her. She looked down at herself, blinking in surprise.

The changes from this whiteness in everything, her body on that little pain part, a new touch of this whiteness, red? What was this strange feeling? She touched her legs, her hands trembling a little. What is that? she wondered in her mind. There, just below her, something new. She felt the bump of her knees, the soft sting where she'd landed. Her small hands gently touched the spot, feeling the skin and the small ache there. What is this? She thought again. What was this thing? She could think! I am.... what is this call? Lu's mind swirled with this new feeling, this new discovery. Knee... she thought.

She never heard the word before but it came to her mind, though she didn't understand it until now. She tilted her head, looking at her knees in wonder. They weren't soft like her body. They were different. But... they were part of her! A little giggle escaped her lips as she realized that this—this thinking—was something new. Another thing can come from her, sounds! She could feel the world, and now, she could understand a little more of it. Little Lu tried standing up, her small feet a little wobbly.

She took a few cautious steps, touching her knees again, and then, she smiled. She blinked once more, looking at the endless white around her. I can feel. I can think. I can move. There was so much more to discover. Little Lu didn't know what would happen next, but she was ready. With a giggle and a joyful heart, she spun around again, a little slower this time, and laughed. A whole world of new feelings and lessons was waiting for her.
