Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Identity Crises
Upon noticing his strange reaction and behaviors just now, Larry felt strange, as if this sense of comfort was what he had been longing for his entire life.
He didn't know that the side effects of taking over a body would be this bad, and it seemed to be taking a huge toll on him.
He couldn't even activate his killing intent; it seemed like something was suppressing him from unleashing it.
He had just seen these new faces, yet their warmth seemed so familiar, probably because they were the previous owner's family members.
Larry, upon noticing that he couldn't escape this embarrassing situation he was stuck in, just let the time pass by until his parents eventually stopped hugging him.
They looked at Larry with his dumbstruck expression curiously while also making sure every part of his body wasn't hurt.
They were too late to realize that they had made a mistake by hugging their son tightly without considering his probable injuries.
They kept staring at each other for a few seconds, awkward in the situation they were in.
Finally, the father came back to his senses and asked his son with a concerned look, "Larry, are you still well?"
"...."
Seeing his son not responding to his question made him shudder a thousand folds.
Matilda then asked her son with a pitiful expression, "Dear, are you alright? Is there something you want? Tell us, and we will make sure to get it for you, no matter how expensive it is."
'How about if I tell you I want the whole planet? Can you afford it?' Larry thought to himself.
Still getting zero reaction from Larry, his parents eventually began to worry.
Upon noticing the awkward situation, Leni raised an eyebrow. Instead of wasting her time like her parents, she eventually left the room as she didn't want to bother with her useless brother.
Leaving her parents in dismay, dealing with a mute person.

It's been hours, yet they had not heard a single word from Larry. They just sat in chairs near Larry, looking at their son.
Meanwhile, Larry didn't bother with the concerned gazes; he was too tired to care and put himself to sleep.
They didn't want to ruin his mood by disturbing their son's comfort.
Actually, out of the four family members, Larry was the one most awkward in the situation.
Matilda then remembered all those things she had done to her child. She used to think that she had done a wonderful job raising her kids.
But the more she thought about it, the more she realized she was actually a more self-centered and selfish mother to her son.
She then shed tears of sadness, seeing herself and her son being so distant.
Benjamin, on the other hand, was still observing something odd about his son's behavior.
'He seems to be completely different from what I imagined his reaction would be,' Benjamin thought.
While his parents were still trying to ease the situation, Larry didn't want to care about it at all and began his self-meditation, examining how much power this body could endure.
Actually, when he took over this body, he was having trouble refining his powers and altering this body, which seemed to be contradictory to his own existence.
Larry then realized one serious problem: this body actually had a different kind of power that could not be absorbed by the anti-ether. This power was like the mortal enemy of the anti-ether.
In his past life, it took him nearly decades of research and thorough study to control both anti-ether and ethereal magic.
Ethereal magic was the natural power of the gods, while anti-ether was a power akin to absolute darkness.
His previous body wasn't normal to begin with, as he could harness both different kinds of powers, making him a certain existence difficult to be trifled with.
Anti-ether was like poison to gods and all creations, as its hunger for power knew no bounds; on the other hand, ethereal magic was an inborn power bestowed upon every newborn god.
It's not like it was his first time dealing with such a difficult problem with a difficult solution; it's just that this energy he got from this body was more pure and potent.
After fusing with its powers, it managed to balance out the three different energies without much difficulty.
It was filled with a noble yet righteous aura that seemed to balance his other two energies into submission.
Larry began to worry about himself now that this might result in tons of problems preventing him from doing as he pleased in the later stages.
This power not only had an energy contradictory to his own but could also control his thought process, making him unable to think of evil thoughts while also considering the results and repercussions of doing so.
In other words, his mind was in a state of chaotic dilemma right now; he couldn't think clearly.
Larry was in a grave condition right now, unsure of what to do and whether to do what was right or wrong.
How could he rule the world with this state of mindset?
This felt like a curse struck within his core. He couldn't even kill this body to look for other hosts, as his conscience wouldn't let him do so either.
Plus, even if he purposefully tried to commit suicide, Larry's soul, mind, and body were already bound and fused with his very existence, so in other words, he would also die.
Just thinking of leaving his parents made his heart ache as if pierced by something emotionally.
"Damn, I'm really dead. I'm really, really dead." Larry's voice echoed across the room to his parents' ears.
Matilda, having the most freaked-out personality, began to panic and hurriedly went to the ER to inform all the doctors, dragging them into his room.
As for his father, Benjamin, he was left speechless, oblivious to both his wife and son.

Meanwhile, outside the hospital, Leni met up with her classmate Rosaline Dion.
Her classmate seemed to be normal at first but hid a deeper and darker self than any other.
She's a yandere.
