Chapter 45 - Wan Zhong Baby, Don’t Raise the Flag Casually~ I
Pretending to be in pain turned out to be a highly effective contraceptive method.
Whenever Xuan Ming approached, Wan Zhong would feign a stomachache.
And every time, Xuan Ming would believe it, letting him go without hesitation.
While Wan Zhong breathed a sigh of relief each time, he also realized this wasn’t a sustainable solution. There might come a day when Xuan Ming no longer cared whether he was in pain or not, and when the moment came, he wouldn’t be able to avoid it.
…He really needed that green contraceptive fruit.
.
At dusk, while the black snake was engrossed in looking at itself in the mirror, snoring and sleeping, Wan Zhong wrapped himself up, grabbed a self-defense dagger, and stealthily headed south, over ten kilometers away from the snake nest.
From afar, he spotted a tree with lush branches and green fruits among the newly sprouted barren trees.
Standing nearly five meters tall, the trunk reached straight up to the sky. It was unclimbable, and throwing stones at it wouldn’t help.
Wan Zhong circled the tree several times, attempting to find a few fruits that had fallen to the ground, but to no avail.
“Hey~!”
Raising his head to face the cloudless blue sky, letting the free wind blow over him, he felt at a loss.
He regretted spending time with Xuan Ming during his estrus period, and he regretted giving in to his physical desires during that time, which only complicated their already delicate relationship further.
But if given the chance, he would still accompany Xuan Ming through his estrus period.
He couldn’t bear the thought of anything happening to Xuan Ming, because without him, he couldn’t go home.
He needed to go home. He had to.
He wanted to return to college, to reconnect with his brother, to be dutiful to his grandfather and spend his twilight years together, and also to find the person who had pushed him into the sea and bring them to justice.
There were too many worries weighing on him.
Sometimes he even wished for death, but then he would abruptly change his mind. Especially after Xuan Ming promised to take him home, the thought of dying became unbearable.
Yet, despite needing Xuan Ming to get home, he couldn’t offer it any emotional commitment.
.
Wan Zhong wandered aimlessly through the forest, his head hanging low, a stark contrast to the vibrant spring scenery around him.
As Wan Zhong was pondering over the possibility of meeting wheat or onion seedlings in the forest, he stumbled upon a small cluster of green seedlings, standing out conspicuously against the black soil.
Rubbing his eyes in disbelief, he hurried over to inspect them closely. After careful examination, he realized they were indeed wheat and onion seedlings!
“Haha, this is really strange,” Wan Zhong exclaimed.
He turned around to survey the surroundings, wondering why wheat and onions would suddenly grow in this redwood forest where even grass struggled to thrive.
Even if floodwaters had carried the seeds here after the snow melted, it seemed improbable that only this small patch would sprout, right?
Puzzled, Wan Zhong returned to the snake’s nest to assess the potential farming area.
Due to the black snake’s habit of uprooting trees when it didn’t get what it wanted, there was a sizable open space near the cliff outside the nest, perfect for farming. Additionally, a small stream had appeared next to the snake nest after the winter, providing water for irrigation.
Wan Zhong had already envisioned the basic layout of his future vegetable garden and farmland. However, all his plans hinged on the black snake’s approval.
But when Wan Zhong entered the cave, the black snake was nowhere to be found.
A rumbling noise echoed through the cave, akin to gravel and dust falling, causing the entire snake nest to tremble.
Initially mistaking it for an earthquake, Wan Zhong soon realized it was the black snake.
.
For some inexplicable reason, it had dug numerous small holes into the mountain, creating a maze-like network of tunnels.
Wan Zhong marveled at the sight, riding on the black snake’s tail while holding a luminous pearl. He couldn’t help but ask, “Handsome snake, why are you digging so many holes? Are you… playing hide and seek?”
The black snake transformed into a half-man, half-snake form, enveloping Wan Zhong with his tail, holding him in his arms, and planting a kiss on his lips. “These are nests I’ve made for the cubs,” Xuan Ming said, “I don’t know if there will be enough.”
Wan Zhong’s jaw dropped in astonishment. He looked at the honeycomb-like holes on the rock wall, utterly flabbergasted. How many babies did Xuan Ming intend to have?
Surely, even his grandfather’s old sow, which once birthed 15 piglets in one litter, couldn’t fill all these holes!
And yet, Xuan Ming had casually remarked, ‘I don’t know if it’s enough?’
Wan Zhong couldn’t help but feel that Xuan Ming must be joking with him.
Not to mention, this snake could be quite humorous and scary sometimes. Haha~
Wan Zhong asked Xuan Ming very seriously: “How many children do you plan to let me have?”
Xuan Ming nodded slightly, thought for a while, and said, “Of course, the more, the better. Keep having children until you can’t have any more. Because with my own cultivation, we will one day get rid of the mortal body and escape from the suffering of reincarnation. By then, even if I want to, I won’t be able to get you pregnant. So, we have to take advantage of now and seize the time to lay eggs and hatch cubs. Otherwise, wouldn’t my extremely perfect genes be wasted?”
Wan Zhong didn’t know what Xuan Ming was thinking.
He said yes from the mouth but in his heart~ ‘You, you obscene snake, not only treat me as a tool for ejaculation, but you also treat me as a fertility machine? Will you continue to live until you can no longer live anymore?’
But, was this what a serious snake should say? Why didn’t you just say that you will live until I die?
What a scumbag… a scumbag snake!
