Chapter 19: Chapter 19: How Did This Strange Transformation Happen?
The apartment was a disaster zone!
Scattered everywhere were various types of shoes—sneakers, high heels, you name it. Suitcases occupied most of the living room space, while the sofa was buried under a chaotic pile of clothes, some of which were half-folded and others simply tossed around, including underwear and stockings.
Even though Su Sheng considered himself adaptable to various environments, this was a bit much even for him. After all, he needed a place to stay, and this mess wasn't helping.
Felicity's face turned beet red.
Despite being out of breath from climbing the stairs earlier, she now moved with surprising speed, navigating the obstacle course of her living room to start tidying up. Her method of cleaning, however, was rather straightforward—she simply gathered everything up and threw it all together.
Su Sheng couldn't stand by and watch. He had to help.
"Don't just toss your stockings anywhere."
"Do you have any garbage bags? We'll need a few more."
"Are you planning on keeping this? If not, just throw it away. If the living room is this messy, I can't imagine what the bedroom looks like. You should go clean that up."
Taking over as the impromptu commander, Su Sheng directed Felicity on what to do. In her flustered state, she didn't question it and just focused on cleaning as quickly as possible. They divided the work—he tackled the living room while she cleaned the bedroom. After more than an hour, they had gathered three bags of garbage and finally restored some order to the place.
The two of them collapsed on the now-clean sofa, looking around at the freshly tidied living room with satisfaction.
"It looks so much bigger now," Felicity remarked, unable to resist smiling.
"That's what happens when you get rid of all the trash," Su Sheng teased.
Felicity awkwardly defended herself, "I just moved in. I didn't have time to sort things out yet."
"I'm hungry," Su Sheng suddenly said, turning to look at Felicity.
At that moment, Felicity's stomach growled in agreement. "How about we order some takeout? I know a good Chinese place."
"Whatever," Su Sheng replied indifferently as he picked up the remote and turned on the TV.
After ordering the food, Felicity found herself staring at her phone and then at Su Sheng, who was watching TV. She was suddenly struck by how strange the situation was.
If she remembered correctly, this man had essentially hijacked her plan to go home, forcing his way into her apartment. She had intended to find a chance to call the police, yet somehow, she ended up cleaning her apartment with him and now ordering takeout. How did this bizarre transformation happen?
"How long until the food arrives?" Su Sheng asked, snapping her out of her thoughts.
"Half an hour," she replied, still in a daze.
"Then you should go take a shower first. I'll take one after you, and the food should be here by then."
"Oh," Felicity responded absentmindedly. After a brief moment of hesitation, she put her phone down and headed to the bathroom. As she replayed the events in her mind, she realized that Su Sheng hadn't done anything to harm her since they met. If he were truly a bad person, he wouldn't have helped her clean up so thoroughly, right? Maybe she didn't need to call the police just yet—what if she had misunderstood him?
As the sound of running water filled the bathroom, Su Sheng continued watching TV, trying to get a sense of what was happening in Starling City.
In a word—boring.
The news was either trivial or filled with minor criminal incidents that didn't interest him at all. There were a few brief reports about Gotham, mentioning that Bane had been killed and that the city had been liberated. He even caught a glimpse of Batgirl, Barbara Gordon.
After a while, Felicity emerged from the bathroom.
She was so used to living alone that she casually walked into the living room wrapped only in a bath towel. It wasn't until she saw Su Sheng standing there that she remembered there was a strange man in her home. Her face turned crimson as she hurriedly tried to make her way to the bedroom to get dressed. But in her haste, she tripped over her own feet and fell to the ground with a thud.
Embarrassed and in pain, Felicity quickly adjusted her towel to cover herself. But instead of helping her up, Su Sheng simply walked past her and entered the bathroom, not even pausing.

The bathroom door closed behind him, leaving Felicity blushing even more.
Ten minutes later, Su Sheng emerged from the shower, shirtless, wearing only boxers, and drying his hair with a towel. He casually walked over to the couch where Felicity, now fully dressed, sat rigidly. Her body stiffened, and she avoided looking at him, but she suddenly jolted when the doorbell rang.
Felicity quickly got up and ran to the door, relieved to find the delivery person outside.
After paying for the food, she returned to the living room, feeling as awkward as a guest in her own home, while Su Sheng acted as if he owned the place.
As the sun set and night enveloped the city, the time to rest drew near.
Felicity sat by the bed in her bedroom, clutching her phone, when suddenly the door opened, and Su Sheng walked in.
"What are you doing?" Felicity asked nervously.
"Sleeping," Su Sheng replied matter-of-factly.
"Well, there's only one bed," Felicity pointed out.
"So? Do you expect me to sleep on the floor?" Su Sheng asked with a grin.
Felicity breathed a sigh of relief, not catching the sarcasm in his tone. "The sofa... wouldn't the floor be too hard?"
"I'll try to restrain myself," Su Sheng said solemnly.
Felicity stared at him blankly. Restrain himself? From what?
