American Comics: The Strongest Villain

Chapter 24: Chapter 24: What Is the Use of Confession?

Language is an art. The same words, arranged differently, can convey vastly different emotions. From "don't... stop" to "don't stop" to "don't... stop," the tone and inflection make all the difference, perfectly capturing Felicity's fluctuating mental and physical state.

The storm had passed, but Felicity, who had just experienced her first voyage into uncharted emotional and physical waters, was still trying to process the aftermath. As she lay there, looking at Su Sheng, she realized how completely her life had spun out of control since meeting him.

"What... what are we now?" she asked Su Sheng, her voice laced with confusion.

Su Sheng chuckled, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "We can be friends, or a couple, whatever you like."

"Do you have many friends like this?" Felicity asked quietly, her eyes narrowing.

"Friendship with benefits, you know?" Su Sheng said casually.

"Is that why you were so attentive before? Or do you think that because of what happened last night, I'm easy to get?" Felicity's mind raced as she replayed Su Sheng's actions from the previous night, wondering if this had all been part of a plan.

Su Sheng shook his head with a soft laugh, his hand gently caressing her cheek as his eyes took on a more serious tone. "It wasn't last night; it was just now."

"So, you really think that?" Felicity's anger flared as she turned over to face him.

"Don't be mad. You're my first girlfriend in this world." Su Sheng pulled her close, planting a soft kiss on her lips. "If it wasn't for your funny reaction just now, I wouldn't have had this chance."

"Really?" Felicity looked at Su Sheng skeptically, but her anger was already fading. Slowly, she settled down against him. "Tell me about yourself. I don't know anything about you. Did you really plan to coerce me? Or kidnap me?"

Felicity struggled to find the right words to describe the bizarre situation she found herself in.

"Yes," Su Sheng answered with a bright smile. "That's what I did in Gotham before. It's quick, easy, and convenient. Speaking of kidnapping, I abducted a woman earlier today—a police officer's daughter, actually."

Felicity laughed, thinking he was joking. "That's not funny."

"I'm not kidding," Su Sheng said, his tone unwavering.

"What?" Felicity's smile faded, and she quickly turned over to face him. "Are you serious? You really kidnapped a cop's daughter today?"

"Yeah, at least she thinks so. It seems she didn't call the police, though," Su Sheng said thoughtfully.

"You're insane!" Felicity shouted, jumping out of bed and rushing to the living room. She quickly returned with her computer bag, turned on her laptop, and pulled out her phone. Slipping on her glasses, Felicity's fingers flew across the keyboard as she hacked into the Starling City Police Department's system. After a few moments, she confirmed that there was no mention of Su Sheng in any kidnapping report. Breathing a sigh of relief, she turned to Su Sheng, her face serious. "You're not joking, are you?"

"Check Laurel Lance. Her father is Quentin Lance. See for yourself," Su Sheng replied.

Felicity pulled up their information, frowning as she stared at Su Sheng. "Why did you kidnap her?"

After a moment of tense silence, she couldn't stand it anymore and asked, "Why kidnap her?"

"I'm a little interested in her," Su Sheng answered nonchalantly.

"You kidnap someone just because you're interested in them?" Felicity asked, her frustration mounting.

"Yes, your boyfriend is that headstrong!" Su Sheng said, getting up and hugging Felicity from behind.

Felicity's frown deepened as she typed on the keyboard again. She found that not only did Su Sheng have no records of any kidnapping, but the police didn't even have his information in their system. Thinking he might be from Gotham, she hacked into the Gotham Police Department's system, only to find that Su Sheng's file was classified as a high-level secret, even beyond the reach of the department's director. Although she could crack it, her current equipment wasn't up to the task.

"Who the hell are you?" Felicity turned to face Su Sheng, her voice trembling with a mix of fear and curiosity.

Su Sheng noticed that his file was set as a high-level secret but didn't seem to care. He smiled brightly. "Your man, have you forgotten already? Or are you quicker to like the new and dislike the old than I am?"

"Like the new and dislike the old?" Felicity was about to ask what he meant when Su Sheng continued, "Check out Quinn Industries Co., Ltd., a steel manufacturing and welding factory."

Felicity quickly accessed the surveillance system in the area and soon had a live feed on her screen.

"What are you planning?" she asked, glancing at the footage.

"I told her if she wanted to see me, she should go there and find me," Su Sheng said.

"You still want to see her? You said you were interested in her. Do you like her?" Felicity asked, feeling a pang of discomfort.

"If you like someone, go for it. How can you just wait for her to come to you?" Su Sheng grinned.

"Going for it? Is this how you express yourself?" Felicity asked, her disbelief growing.

"What's the use of confessing? You'll probably get rejected. If you can't catch up to her, try harder. If that doesn't work, well, you can always resort to drastic measures. And if things turn sour, you can always get a compromising photo. Worst case, you go to jail and start over. If you don't even have the courage to risk jail, you've got no business saying you like someone!" Su Sheng spoke with such conviction that it left Felicity speechless.

Felicity stared at him, dumbfounded. What kind of twisted, antisocial logic was this?
