At The Beginning Of The Novel, The Villain Forced The Protagonist’s Step-Mom To Bear His Children

Chapter 40:

Chapter 40: Teaching His Daughter to Draw! The Stepmother’s Shock:

“Brother Hao, what’s going on with Shiqing and Huayi? Why are they suddenly so close to you?”

Back in the bedroom that night, Su Wanqiu couldn’t contain her curiosity and asked Xu Hao.

“What else could it be? They’re my daughters; blood is thicker than water.”

Xu Hao gave a seemingly reasonable yet evasive answer.

Su Wanqiu rolled her eyes.

She wasn’t sure why Xu Hao had suddenly become so capable, but she was almost certain that the seven daughters weren’t biologically his.

Where was this ‘blood is thicker than water’ nonsense coming from?

Su Wanqiu thought back. The change in the daughters happened within a day. Xu Hao had taken them to an amusement park.

Could it be that easy?

Were young girls nowadays so easily won over?

Just a day at the amusement park, and they went from distant to calling him ‘Dad’?

Still, it seemed like a good thing.

Recently, Xu Hao had been behaving well, actively trying to win back the daughters. Finally, a bit of warmth had returned to their cold home.

“Instead of worrying about the daughters, maybe you should think about yourself. Have you picked out your outfit for tonight?”

Su Wanqiu blushed.

Since he had given her a bunny girl outfit, Xu Hao had developed a taste for these costumes and had her buy whatever he wanted her to wear.

“Not tonight… I have my period…”

Su Wanqiu bit her lip.

Xu Hao’s strength demanded nightly passion, but surely he wouldn’t be so unreasonable?

Of course not.

Xu Hao understood that women had those few days every month. Forcing himself upon her during this time wouldn’t be enjoyment but rather cruelty. However, he had a solution.

“Do you know how to get through a snowy mountain when the main road is blocked?”

Su Wanqiu was puzzled by his question.

“Take the side path, silly…”

The next day.

Xu Hao began teaching Xu Shiqing how to make paintings.

She brought her sketchpad to the courtyard, where Xu Hao asked her to draw something first so he could point out the mistakes. Xu Shiqing’s skills were quite good, and she quickly sketched the layout of the courtyard, capturing the pavilions, rockery, and pond with precise detail.

“This is well done,” Xu Hao praised, before pointing out the flaws. “For instance, the rockery doesn’t need such fine detail. You should do it like this…”

He explained the changes while demonstrating. His vivid instructions made Xu Shiqing nod frequently in understanding. However, when she tried to apply what she’d learned, things didn’t go as planned.

What was she drawing again?

Eyes: Understood.

Brain: Got it.

Hand: No… you don’t.

As she painted, it felt increasingly wrong. She couldn’t capture Xu Hao’s essence. Frustrated and nearly in tears, she suddenly felt someone hold her hand.

“You should draw it like this…”

Xu Hao had come up behind her, holding her hand and guiding it. Xu Shiqing’s body stiffened, her mind went blank, and she let Xu Hao control her hand. When they finished, she returned to her senses.

“Did you get it?” Xu Hao asked.

Xu Shiqing lowered her head. She had been too distracted to remember anything.

[Ding! Xu Shiqing…]

Seeing the emotion points rise, Xu Hao mentally praised himself. The sooner he could win over his daughters, the sooner they’d stay home, providing him with ample emotion points.

Looking at his daughter, now timid and shrinking like a little bird, Xu Hao found it amusing and gently said, “It’s alright. Take your time. I’ll teach you again.”

His patience and willingness to teach her again touched Xu Shiqing deeply.

She scolded herself internally, “Xu Shiqing, Dad is just teaching you to paint. What are you thinking about? Calm down and focus on learning.’

With Xu Hao’s hands-on guidance, her painting skills improved significantly throughout the day, reaching a master level. She was thrilled to feel such progress.

Previously, she doubted Xu Hao’s claim that a bit of training could prepare her to win an international competition. Now, she had no doubts at all. At this rate, she’d soon be able to paint at the level of the modified sunset scene her father had done on her painting. Although she still had a long way to go to reach his level, the path seemed clear.

To show her gratitude, she and her sister went to the market to buy ingredients for a feast.

Xu Hao retreated to his study room.

After a thorough cleansing, the company was running smoothly again. He could manage things remotely from home.

Once his work was done, Xu Hao shut off his computer and rubbed his forehead.

When he heard his daughters cooking in the kitchen, he had an idea.

He still had a pair of necklaces: twin lotus pendants.

He brought them out. Each necklace was exquisite, with every tiny gem masterfully crafted. However, the central gem seemed to lack something, making it imperfect.

An idea struck him: why not engrave his daughters’ names on them? His divine calligraphy skills would ensure the engraving wouldn’t ruin the necklaces’ beauty but rather enhance their charm.

He glanced around and found a silver needle on the desk…
