Battle Through The Heavens : I Am The Thunder Emperor

Chapter 25: Chapter 25: A Shy Ya Fei

Chapter 25: A Shy Ya Fei

As soon as Mo Yu saw the fiery figure of the newcomer and her academy uniform, an impression immediately popped into his mind.

This was Xiao Yu, the granddaughter of the Xiao Family's Great Elder and the elder sister of Xiao Ning.

Mo Yu recalled that they had some interaction when they were children, but as they grew older and their statuses diverged, their contact gradually diminished.

Judging by her appearance, she had just returned home from Jianan Academy. But why would she approach him?

"I am Mo Yu, and you must be Cousin Xiao Yu," Mo Yu said, giving the beautiful woman in front of him a slight once-over.

As they spoke, Xiao Yu moved closer, her long, alluring legs drawing his attention as she walked. Up close, Mo Yu could truly appreciate how captivating those long, straight legs were—a rare sight indeed.

"So, you're the one who defeated my brother and is now the family's rising genius, huh? They say you and that idiot Xiao Yan are called the 'Xiao Family's Twin Dragons.' I'm sure it's just talk," Xiao Yu said as she approached, her expression suddenly changing to one of disdain.

When she first returned home, Xiao Yu had made it a point to inquire about the family's recent developments. Aside from Xiao Yan's restored talent, Mo Yu was the most talked about.

Xiao Yu already had a poor opinion of Xiao Yan due to some childhood incidents. As for Mo Yu, the family's newly risen star, she initially didn't think much of him. As a student at Jianan Academy, she had met many prodigies from both the empire and prominent families, and she didn't believe the Xiao family could produce any noteworthy talent.

However, rumors had begun circulating that the family elders were considering arranging a marriage between her and Mo Yu. This news had infuriated Xiao Yu. As a proud and independent woman, she wasn't about to be married off so easily.

To her, Mo Yu was just another small-town genius who might be impressive in Wu Tan City but would be ordinary in the Jia Ma Empire or the entire Northwestern Continent.

Her visit today wasn't to greet him but to make it clear that they weren't in the same league.

Seeing the annoyance on Xiao Yu's pretty face, Mo Yu was momentarily taken aback. He couldn't understand what he had done to offend her.

For the past few days, he had been keeping to himself, focusing on training and cultivation. He had paid little attention to the thoughts of the family elders.

Even if he and Xiao Yan were both labeled as the "Xiao Family's Twin Dragons," it didn't seem like a reason for her to dislike him as well.

"My abilities are none of your concern. If there's nothing else, I won't be keeping you," Mo Yu said dismissively.

Women who acted irrationally were the worst. Mo Yu's gaze briefly flicked over Xiao Yu's ample chest, partially hidden by her pale purple academy uniform, where three golden stars were emblazoned. They signified Xiao Yu's rank as a Three-Star Dou Zhe.

To Mo Yu, this level of strength was hardly worth mentioning. Although he was only a One-Star Dou Zhe, his mastery of advanced Dou Techniques, his control over the mysterious Xuan Lei (Heavenly Thunder), and his nascent Tian Gang Lei Ti (Heavenly Gang Thunder Body) made him confident that anyone below a Five-Star Dou Zhe was no threat to him.

After his calm response, Mo Yu turned and walked away.

"You—!" Xiao Yu's face turned ashen at Mo Yu's indifferent attitude, and her hand instinctively moved to the hilt of her sword.

But in the end, she held back and didn't draw her weapon.

For some reason, the cold detachment in Mo Yu's eyes made her uncertain. He had clearly noticed the three golden stars on her uniform but remained unshaken.

This meant that either he had immense confidence in his own strength, or he was a fool.

But was this genius who had recently made such a name for himself in the Xiao family really a fool?

"Mo Yu, is Xiao Yu giving you trouble again?" Xiao Yan, along with Xun'er, had noticed the situation and came over to check on him.

"It's nothing, just a small misunderstanding," Mo Yu replied casually.

Seeing that Mo Yu wasn't bothered, Xiao Yan still grumbled, "Just ignore that woman; she's so stubborn!"

Mo Yu and Xun'er exchanged smiles, both shaking their heads at the little feud between Xiao Yan and Xiao Yu.

Just then, Xiao Zhan and a few others approached.

"Come here, Yan'er, Mo Yu, let me introduce you. This is Ya Fei, the chief auctioneer of the Miteer Auction House," Xiao Zhan said, stepping aside to reveal the alluring woman in the red dress.

Mo Yu and Xiao Yan turned their attention to the mature and seductive woman, greeting her politely, "Hello, Miss Ya Fei."

Ya Fei's enchanting gaze swept over the two young men. When her eyes landed on Mo Yu, they flickered slightly, as his demeanor reminded her of the mysterious man who had auctioned off a Xuan-Class movement Dou Technique.

As the memory resurfaced, a faint blush crept across Ya Fei's cheeks.

Recalling her behavior in the office after the cloaked man had left made her feel a bit shy today. Although she was generally a traditional woman, careful about her actions, she had found herself inexplicably drawn to the man's enigmatic charm.

Despite her public persona, Ya Fei had always maintained her dignity and never let anyone take advantage of her. Her primary focus was on expanding the auction house's business and gaining favor with her family's elders.

But that day, faced with the mysterious man's otherworldly allure, she had momentarily lost control and done something she now regretted.

Xiao Zhan gave Ya Fei a puzzled look, wondering why the usually composed woman seemed so flustered.

Fortunately, Ya Fei quickly regained her composure. With a smile, she said, "So, you two must be the Xiao Family's Twin Dragons. Your names have been making waves recently."

Mo Yu and Xiao Yan exchanged a glance, both nodding indifferently at the mention of their title.

Seeing that the two had been introduced, Xiao Zhan looked up at the sky, then patted Mo Yu and Xiao Yan on the shoulders, smiling warmly. "Alright, the adult ceremony is about to start. I need to go make some preparations. You two, don't let me down."

Both Mo Yu and Xiao Yan nodded in response.

As she followed Xiao Zhan away, Ya Fei glanced back at the two young men, her earlier shyness gone. Her years of experience in the auction business had given her a keen eye, and upon closer inspection, she noticed something that made her uneasy.

Though both young men were still in their youth, they shared a common trait: in the depths of their dark eyes, there was a calmness, like a deep, unfathomable pool.

"To control their emotions so easily at such a young age... The Xiao Family's Twin Dragons indeed live up to their reputation," Ya Fei thought to herself, feeling a hint of gravity.
