Being A Law God In Marvel!

Chapter 31: Ares Appeared!

"Ahhhhh—!"

"Oh, come on, Steve!"

Ryuji dragged Steve and Samir down from the sky. Samir seemed to handle it better, but Steve's hair was standing straight up, blown wildly by the wind, making him look like a video game character.

"Hey, Steve, you okay? You're looking like Benimaru right now."

"What?" Steve asked, confused, as he frantically tried to smooth his hair back down. His heart was still pounding from the sudden flight and descent. "Are you trying to kill me?!"

"Hey, I saved you twice now. Don't be dramatic. If I hadn't pulled you out of there, you'd be dead from that poison gas explosion. And if I didn't carry you just now, you'd have been caught by the spreading gas. A couple of scratches from tree branches—what's that compared to death?" Ryuji smirked.

"A couple of scratches?! Look at my face!" Steve pointed at the red marks left by the branches. "And anyway—"

"Speaking of which," Ryuji interrupted, turning to Diana, "did you locate the base? What's the situation?"

Diana, who had been watching the banter, remained calm. "It's in the southeast corner."

"Figured as much," Ryuji nodded.

The wind was blowing south and east, carrying the mustard gas toward where they had just been. The base had clearly been positioned so that the gas wouldn't blow back toward the castle—tactically sound.

"I scouted around but couldn't see the castle from that direction. By the way, is Ludendorff dead?" Diana asked, her brow furrowed slightly.

"Yeah, he was near the cannon with Dr. Poison when it exploded. The gas got them both." Ryuji shrugged.

"What's next?" Diana pressed.

"We head to the base, destroy the remaining gas, and deal with any German soldiers standing in our way. Trust me, Ares will show up—or maybe he already has," Ryuji said, closing his eyes for a moment, as if listening to something. When he opened them again, they glinted with certainty. "He's here."

"Ares?" Diana's attention sharpened immediately.

"Yeah. I can feel the magical energy. He's in the southeast—exactly where the base is. And there's something familiar about the presence. Same vibe I sensed back in that London tavern."

"London tavern?" Logan asked, confused, while Diana's expression shifted into one of realization.

"You mean… Sir Patrick?"

"Exactly." Ryuji nodded.

Diana's expression darkened, remembering how she had doubted Ryuji in the tavern when he mentioned Patrick's suspicious aura. Now it was hard to deny.

"Sir Patrick?!" Steve exclaimed.

"Yup, the very same one," Ryuji replied.

Logan and Victor grinned, the excitement clear on their faces.

"So, that pompous god finally shows himself, huh? Let's go rip his head off and use it as a trophy," Victor growled.

"Easy there," Logan said. "This guy's a god. We need to be cautious."

"Whatever. I'm ready to fight," Victor grinned, cracking his knuckles.

"Diana, you'll take on Ares. He's stationed in the observation command room," Ryuji said, his tone commanding.

"Understood."

"Logan, Victor, Doutzen Carlos, your task is to neutralize the planes carrying gas bombs. Don't let them take off, but don't destroy them either."

"Why not just destroy the planes?" Victor asked.

"I've got a theory," Ryuji replied, "but I'll need to confirm it once we're there."

"What about you?" Logan asked.

"I'm going to set up a trap. Ares is powerful. If we're going to beat him, we need every advantage," Ryuji explained.

With that, Ryuji spread his wings of energy, grabbing Logan and Victor before soaring into the sky. Diana followed close behind, carrying Doutzen Carlos.

Back on the ground, the remaining group—Steve, Charlie, and the Chief—exchanged uneasy looks.

"What now?" the Chief asked.

Steve mounted his horse. "We follow. The gas is still a threat, and it's part of my mission."

"Alright, let's go!" Charlie said with a grin, hopping onto his own horse.

"Finally, we're seeing the God of War," the Chief muttered, his tone a mix of apprehension and excitement.

As the riders disappeared into the forest, Ryuji and his group neared their targets.

"Diana, Ares is all yours. He's in the observation command room," Ryuji said firmly.

"Got it," Diana replied, determination flashing in her eyes.

"Logan, Victor, Carlos—handle the planes and the soldiers guarding them. Make sure none of those planes take off," Ryuji ordered.

"Fine. Let's go smash some heads," Victor grinned, already itching for a fight.

As Diana and the others split off, Ryuji prepared his magical tools, his expression unreadable. The trap he was setting up wasn't just for Ares—it was a test of his own strength and ingenuity.

Ares would soon realize that this battle wasn't going to be easy.
