Chapter 152: Chapter 139: What A Little Space Can Do
Summary:
For all of us
Hekapoo laughed as she rode her dragon cycle. "I've gotta say, you're pretty skilled for a newbie." She told the new guy, Finn Mertins.
"It's not that hard. You just have to speak to their soul." He smiled, planting a kiss on the creature he was riding. "I cherish you."
"It's like listening to Nad, except platonic and he isn't a possessive vegan jerk." Kelly remarked as she rode on her fluffy and hairy dragon cycle. "You were worth every bruise." She patted the creature.
"Finally someone sees these things as more than a vehicle." Marco nodded, casually riding Nachos. "This is who you should be learning from, Tom."
"GET ME OFF THIS CRAZY RIDE!" The Lucitor kid shouted as his ride tried to kick him off.
Hekapoo just gave him a look. "You shouldn't call him crazy, that's offensive." She rubbed her own cycle affectionately. "So it's been a hot minute since last time. How's the crazy life treating you?"
"Pretty well since then. Got kidnapped, Star and Steven went on trial in space, and I almost had every memory of my girlfriend erased, so the usual heart-racing stress inducing adventures I've grown used to." Marco replied with a light shrug.
"Life is just wild when that's the default." Kelly laughed. "So how's life at the commission been?"
"Semi good … you guys have been opening a lot of portals, which is a lot of paperwork, but honestly it's nothing compared to Omnitraxus." She rolled her eyes. "He's really kept to himself for the past weeks. I mean, yeah, space time is basically swiss cheese due to you guys, but he's making it sound like it's the end of the universe when he can fix it with a snap." The guy was in a really dark place for some reason.
"Honestly space time shouldn't be messed with." Finn spoke up. "Where I come from it usually ends in catastrophe."
"You never told me about that." Kelly looked offended.
"I'd rather not repeat myself turning into an ice king to save Jake possessed by the Lich … or when touching my past self turned into a sword that fused with my grass sword, becoming Fern who was good but eventually needed to be put down."
"Yikes, that is terrible and your dimension sounds like a living nightmare." Heckapoo responded. "If it was anything like that, I get why Omni has been constantly cursing the sky, but he's treating basically a telescope that watches other universes like it's a blackhole that'll suck in all existence. I think he's taking after the Koala just a little too much."
"Wait, you met the Koala?" Marco asked. "We keep getting vague hints about it but nothing serious."
"I've met them … once." She muttered. "Mainly used Sean's body to talk, called out Glossaryck for making me a thing, said they were contemplating resetting the multiverse from scratch." Scariest moment of her life.
"And here I thought Golb was the biggest cosmic jerkward I'd ever faced." Finn said in shock.
"Oh no, Golb is essentially a mindless pet for the Snake, who first existed when the universe was nothing and thus wants everything to become nothing." Heckapoo clarified.
"Is there any 'nice' god!?" Tom complained as he was thrown into a wall.
"Let's see…Axolotl is kind of iffy, The collector's kind of neutral, Uncle Grandpa is okay if very annoying, and the President of the Universe is really into disco for some reason." She counted off her fingers. "Oh, the Kwami's are pretty cool though. Just give them a snack every once in a while and you have a friend for life." Even if Plag killed the dinosaurs…in more than one universe.
"Hmm." Marco hummed. "You know, talking about existentialism is a lot easier than talking to Lars."
"Dude, the guy just died, I'm pretty sure he has a lot more on his mind than whatever petty grudge you two have with each other." Kelly pointed out.
"I know that, but he changed as a person. He's 'nice' now, and that makes it awkward for me instead of the normal arguing." He sighed. "I've gotta push past it though, we're making a rescue team to get him off the planet, and I got the Horse Miraculous ready for warping us home."
"Space adventures…I remember the days where that was the one thing I wished for above all else." Finn nodded nostalgically. "Then I met my dad in space jail and it killed the mood for me…and I lost my arm."
"Yeowch." Marco winced. "Alright, now I'm going to be paranoid over my limbs instead of how awkward the Lars talk is gonna be."
"Pffft. It can't be that bad. If me and Steven can stay friends without awkwardness brewing, then you can totally get past this."
"You can't." The boy deadpanned. "Me and Star can feel that awkwardness from dimensions away."
"Whatever. You're just jealous that I've mastered the friend zone."
"That's not something to be proud of." Heckapoo rolled her eyes.
"STOP! I NEED MY LIVER!" Tom shouted from the way back as fire started spitting out everywhere. This is why she hated riding with newbies.
========================================================================
Steven looked at Lion, who rolled over. "So adorable." He muttered, giving the guy a belly rub.
"It's super precious." Star agreed. "Thank you for being there for us, buddy."
"So as someone who's never been inside of Lion's head, any tips?" Marco asked, adjusting his bag.
"Hold your breath for as long as possible and try not to trip over the pink grass." Steven instructed. "There's two island's inside. Once we're inside, head for the one that's completely empty and jump on the other side of it. Oh, and keep everyone chained by the hand, you can only enter and leave with me."
"It should be with the both of us." Star grumbled. "We have sibling powers, we should share magical hair portals."
"You don't have healing spit either, so I guess some things are just meant to be mine alone." He shrugged. "Just also be prepared to run for your lives the moment we step on homeworld. The off colors are friendly but the drones are relentless."
"Dude, running for our lives is basically our work out routine by this point." Kelly snorted.
"And Homeworld is surprisingly easy to trick with their absolute cluelessness of earth." Marco added in. "Alright then, let's go on and save our friends."
"Okay then, everyone hold hands." He immediately offered his out to Kelly, who ignored it and grabbed Marco's remaining hand, who was holding onto Star already. Again, he hated being in the friend zone. "Take a breath." He sighed, grabbing onto Star and putting his foot into Lion's mane. "And go!"
The group walked through the pink planes, Steven's thought wandering to how far this place went out. Who knows, maybe if he walked far enough he would find another tree somewhere out there. After signaling the group, they fit through the tiny space with some effort, Lar's head being smaller, as they all exited the pink lands with a gasp of air. "Alright Lars, we have a plan to get you out of-"
" LARS OF THE BARDIGA CLAN!" He turned to the voice, seeing a white skinned creature with multiple eyes, black claws, and a purple face on a large screen. "YOUR ACTIONS HAVE GONE TOO FAR!"
"Mind giving me a minute, I've got a massive headache, and I JUST lost Emerald three sectors ago." Spoke the supposed to be panicking boy casually, now sporting a fancy looking suit and cape as he rubbed his head. "Remind me what actions you're talking about?"
"You destroyed our Xenocite collection not but five minutes ago!!"
"Captain Lars, I predict we're about to be attacked by a Highbreed!" Padparadscha shouted out."
"They've taken out the blasters on the right side. We only have half our offensive power left. " The rutile twins explained as they looked at the screen.
"What did we walk into here?" Star asked with wide eyes.
"We don't need offense, we did what we came for anyway." The boy waved off the danger. "Fluorite, prep the nova thrusters!"
"Lars…are you a space captain?!" Steven shouted, impressed by the teens sudden shift into awesomeness.
"Of a space pirate crew, yes." He waved off handedly. "Now, if you wanted to keep your collection safe, you shouldn't have left them unguarded."
"I HAD OVER THIRTY SOLDIERS DEFENDING THE PLANT!" The thing on the screen shouted in outrage.
"Yeah, but if they were competent we would actually call it guarded." The pink teen smirked. "I had a harder time avoiding the GKND, and all I needed to do was lie about having candy."
"Your weapons are offline, you impure filth. Surrender now or we will blast you to oblivion and let your atoms roam across the endless void!"
"The…engines are…ready…for hyperspeed." Fluorite slowly said from the lower deck of the ship.
"Did she just say hyperspeed!?" Kelly asked as the two of them shared the same sparkly eyed look.
"You'll pay for your crimes against the Highbreed! Your existence will come to a swift and painful end, be well assured of that!"
"Listen buddy, you're not the first guy to tell me that. If you want to threaten me, make it intimate, will ya?" Lars waved off. "Now Rutile, floor it!"
"On it captain. Yes captain. "
"Laaaaaaaaaaarrrrrs!"
"Bingo-Bango." Lars shot two finger pistols at the creek as the ship moved at hyperspeed, the stars suddenly becoming blurry from the velocity they were moving at. "Man, those guys are so boring. 'Kill the impure' this and 'we are superior' that. You'd think that they would at least make things fun if their end goal is complete annihilation, right Rhodonite?"
"Can we stop trying to ask for more trouble on top of our existing one captain? I'm going to glitch if our danger threshold becomes any higher." The fusion asked with an exasperated sigh.
"I'm sorry, when did Lars become a badass!?" Marco shouted.
"I want to say it was the third time I personally pissed off Emerald after dancing with her while wearing a mask." The pink boy snorted. "Oh man, I had her going for a while. I'm not sure if she's more bitter about the dance or me stealing her ship."
"Probably the ship, that's when her vocabulary tripled." Rhodonite pointed out.
"Okay, okay, time out here, time out!" Star waved her hands as she caught everyone's attention. "You made it off your homeworld by yourselves?"
"I predict Lars will be questioned about his interesting status." The small orange Sapphire stated. "When he learned he couldn't be detected by Gem technology, he became … how did that one group put it, 'a cocky little shizno'?"
"They can call me cocky all they want, we're still five steps ahead of everyone." Lars snorted. "And yeah, we got off that boring rock about three days after you guys left. The off colors really knew how to navigate the tunnels. I wouldn't have gotten this far without them."
"Aww, stop it. Keep praising us. " Rutile waved it off with a blush.
"Well this is awesome!" Star shouted. "We can open up a portal with the scissors and get you home with no magical interference!"
"Aw, I really wanted to use the horse miraculous though." Marco pouted.
"Maybe next time buddy." Steven patted the boy's back. "After all, the gems may come back soon so … it would be nice for an easy day for once, just in and out ."
"Do we really have to leave so soon? I mean…we're in a spaceship going at hyperspeed! Dragon cycles have nothing on this thing!" Kelly kept her look of awe.
"I mean it's definitely going to take a while to figure it out … not quite sure how to put an entire space ship through a portal." Star muttered as she looked at the entire place.
"Oh…hello there….Star, Steven." Fluorite came out from the deck. "I see…you brought….more humans…"
"Yeah. This is Kelly and Marco." He pointed to his friends. "She's actually a woolet, she can control her hair." He pointed to the top of her head.
" It looks so small . How much can you do with that?" Rutile asked.
"Tons. It's basically a backpack of infinite storage." She demonstrated as she shook her hair, and about a dozen or so swords fell out of it. "Harder to manage since the haircut, but workable."
"Meanwhile I have some Karate moves." Marco demonstrated slowed down movements and chops for the off colors.
"I foresee that everyone brought portals that Lars doesn't wish to use yet." Padparadscha interrupted all the current talking.
"Lars…is there something you'd like to tell the audience?" Star glared at the pink boy. "Your friends that have been worrying for over a month about how to save you?"
"I mean…do I really need to go back so soon?" Lars asked. "I want to get back home..but I'm actually LIVING unlike what I was doing before. It's about the journey, not the destination."
"But … everyone misses you." Steven pointed out.
"Steven … When we first got off of Homeworld, me and Rhodonite wanted to settle down somewhere and just wait it out until you guys came back." He admitted. "And then we learned that the planet was being enslaved, so we freed them and moved on before we were found out … and then another planet we helped … and another." He went on. "The universe isn't supposed to be a bad place but … nobody's doing anything about it." He looked back, determined. "I want to stop wasting my life, I already did it once … I'm using this second chance to help this whole universe!" He shouted out.
"Damn, he's even got the cool inspirational speeches down." Star snapped her fingers, and Steven couldn't help but agree. "Marco, talk some sense into him."
Marco looked hesitant, deep in thought. "... You find the adrenaline addicting, don't you?" The boy asked.
"I'm doing this for more than just the thrill of danger." Lars defended himself.
"You spent so long with these people you nearly forgot your old life?"
"Not like I had much of a life before space to begin with."
"And now you find yourself more at home in this environment and feel earth would be weird for you to live." He spoke like he had experience … ah corn, he was projecting.
"..what would you know about it?"
"Sixteen years in a dimension where one minute is two years." Marco explained.
"Oh, time dilation." Rhodonite nodded. "We got caught in a two thousand year time loop at one point, but it was a good thing Padparadscha got us out of it."
"I predict Marco will realize he can finally emotionally connect to his old friend after so many years of hating him." He was starting to see why Star loved the little gem, she just shattered drama almost instantly.
"Hm, maybe.."
Kabooom! The ship shook and rumbled.
"I also predict that Emerald has caught onto our trail."
"... Rhodonite … weren't you supposed to be on lookout?" Lars asked with a bit of a commanding tone.
"Sorry, I got caught up in this highly emotional and engaging situation." So their lives were basically a soap opera for anyone watching, joy.
"So on a scale of annoying midget to planetary destroyer, how bad is Emerald?" Steven asked.
"Raging ex with a fleet of ships and enough raw power to manhandle a single Topaz." Not the best odds they could ever have, but somehow not the worst either.
========================================================================
Pumpkin barked, lapping at the new thing's tail. It smelled nice enough that it wouldn't harm them. "It's rare to see food that doesn't want to eat you." The thing with blue eyes and slimy skin spoke with confusion.
"I barely understand what food is to begin with." The pink thing said as they laid down on the hay covered ground. Their home has been filled with more and more things, but pumpkin didn't mind. Green master didn't yell for their destruction, so they must've been friendly. "I mean, where does it go once it's inside your mouth?"
"I eat magic, so it just kinda vanishes." The slimy thing shrugged. "Other than that apparently there is a 'digestion' process humans and witches have that I don't really know about." She rubbed Pumpkin affectionately like Green Master did, making them snuggle against the slimy thing more. "So you really have this place to yourself?"
"Relatively speaking. Peridot's usually in the back messing with some kind of machine. Lapis mostly sits on the balcony throwing paint at the walls, and the Centipeetle are usually hanging out in the cornfield."
" Hssssh." One of the long black and green creatures leaned their head against the slimy thing. She was right, the creature did seem cold. It seemed like she could use a little warmth.
"And here I thought I'd be the strangest thing on earth when I moved here." The blue eyed creature let out a light chuckle.
"Well apparently I have the exact same face as Steven's 'dead mom', so trust me when I say you will never be creepier or more awkward than that." The pink one patted the slimy one's head.
"I'm able to shapeshift and use any face I've seen, so I've actually gone into that exact same situation with dozens of other people before." The slimy one laughed nervously. "Maybe that's why everyone keeps saying to use my real form."
"Just be real to yourself, and you'll be real to the universe." The pink one nodded, rubbing the head of a scaly wheeled thing that had shown up recently.
"Real to myself…isn't that something to think about." The slimy one looked at the ceiling. "I was locked in a cage for so many years I never even had the chance to figure out who 'myself' really was. Then the door to the human realm opened and I never looked back."
"I was in a bubble for six thousands years, and my only real identity was 'move stuff around' every once in a while and stand by while looking pretty." The pink one shrugged. "In hindsight, I never realized how…boring my life was."
"Honestly, I couldn't even process six thousand years." The slimy one spoke, rubbing against the long and black creature. "It's times like this I think I got off easy with people hunting down and eradicating my family."
"I'm starting to think no one really has it easy." The pink one responded. "There's always some kind of trouble that comes along, and it affects different people differently. When something bad happens, we're all equal in the fact we all feel pain. When something sad happens, we're equal in that we feel remorse, and so on and so forth."
"I feel if we were all equal Steven wouldn't have to deal with so many of his mom's sex life stories." The slimey one deadpanned. "I don't think the universe gives him enough compensation for that."
"Probably not." The pink one smirked. "So you've gotten chummy with him too?"
"A little. Cami-Ms Noc-mom..ugh that's weird to think about…wanted me to get out more, so Luz, my sort-of sister introduced me to her new friends." The slimy one scratched her head. "Apparently mom wants to mate with his dad, so we might as well get along if that's going to happen."
"I still don't really understand humans and how they view relationships, but I can tell that's a brew of awkwardness coming."
"Tell me about it." She groaned. "I'm just lucky they're such nice people …" They leaned back. "They just accepted me without any problems."
"Same…it was never like that on Homeworld. The moment you didn't fit the mold you were made from, bam, shattered." The pink one clapped their hands dramatically. "Even if I don't fully agree with it, I can understand why a gem would turn traitor for this place. It's…liberating."
"Earth is … a lovely little patch of dirt in the multiverse." The slimy one agreed, once more rubbing pumpkin. And pumpkin would always agree with that as well.
========================================================================
Marco watched as Lars merely stood up and cracked his neck at the impending danger. "Alright, pull up the coms, Em wants to talk to us probably."
A green gem was shown on the screen, laughing. "After all this time I finally found you! You still haven't fixed the highly recognizable energy signature on my sun incinerator!"
"Not for a lack of trying." The captain of this ship they were riding pointed to Fluorite. "How much time do you need to work on that?"
"It's….Hard…to work on…when…we're constantly…on the….move…another….month…is required." The caterpillar gem slowly responded.
"Aww, did you hear that Em?" Lars spoke with a cocky grin. "A whole nother month of our cat and mouse game. Doesn't that sound captivating?"
"Is he flirting with her?" Star whispered to him.
"I did the same thing with Hekapoo after being trapped trying to chase her for so long." Marco answered back. "It helps keep the tension down and spirits high when you try to not take the enemy seriously."
"Oh, I will be so..so…SO satisfied and fulfilled once I wipe that coy attitude from existence!" The green gem shouted from the screen said lividly. "You and your ridiculous Off Colors will soo be even less meaningful than the stardust when I'm done obliterating you all!"
"I have a visual, it's the Destiny Destroyer sir!" Rhodonite shouted.
"I … that's it?" Lars asked. "You only came to us with one ship? Oh I'm hurt, wounded even." The pink shit swayed dramatically. "Is the thought of me actually being beaten so impossible you're not even trying? Do I need to make it easy and let your tender and dainty fingers rest upon my rugged and handsome neck?"
"You know, part of me finds this genuinely hilarious." Kelly muttered to the group.
"No kidding…is this how other people feel when we do something crazy?" Steven said. "It's half amusing and half concerning.
"I'm warning you! Surrender the sun incinerator or be annihilated!"
"Aww, but haven't you wanted to destroy us this whole time?" Lars asked with fein concern. "In fact, my earlier comment gave me an idea." He snapped his fingers. "Rhodonite, drop the shields."
"But..BUT THAT'LL LEAVE US OPEN AND UNDEFENDED!"
"Yes, yes it will." He shrugged. "But there's no point in carrying around something so useless and will just eat up the battery."
"Are you kidding! I have the DESTINY DESTROYER! One clear shot and you're history." Emerald shouted as visible lightning emanated from her.
"Yes … if you wanted to." Lar's continued with his shit eating grin. "But you don't have the guts to do anything."
"If this is about that forign idea of romance than you are sorely mistaken!"
"Oh, you do have room in your silicone heart, but not for me." Lars clarified. "But for the Sun Incinerator herself!"
"Wait, no, no! That's ridiculous!"
"Come on, we all have best friends, people close to us. Even if we don't admit it we can bond with the most unlikely of people." Lars gazed in their direction, Marco looking into his eyes as the space captain turned to Emerald. "But go ahead, call my bluff. The shield is down after all … Pull. The. Trigger."
"So just to be clear, we're all fine with him gambling our lives?" Marco asked.
"It wouldn't be the first time. Lars has taken many risks for us." Rutile explained.
"We've done crazier and won, so might as well see where this goes." Star shrugged.
"Alright! You asked for this!" The gem shouted, and for a brief second, the ship shook and rumbled…but otherwise they were fine.
"I predict Emerald will miss on purpose because she doesn't want to risk destroying the only thing she has any emotional attachment to."
"Bingo, Bongo!" Lars shouted. "You'd rather see us leave than destroy your ship, no matter how much my adorable face haunts your dreams."
"Oh it haunts me, for how disgusting its organic contents are!" Emerald shouted back. "And while it disgusts me to have your filthy hand all over it, I cannot bring myself to destroy the Sun Incinerator…but I can still take out your Nova thrusters and slow you down!"
"If you think one Nova thruster down is a problem, then you clearly forgot what I can do with just a rock." They laughed.
"VENGEANCE WILL BE MINE!" They hung up.
"Rhodonite, options."
"She's taken out our shields, it'll take five minutes for them to get online again!" Rhodonite responded.
"We don't need to focus on the shields, their weapons would pierce them and drain our battery fast anyway. Give me something else." He waved the instant problem offhandedly.
"We still have the comet crusher. The secondary one man ship ." Rutile offered.
"I need to stay here at the moment … Do any of you guys know how to drive a stick?" He asked the group.
"Oh, I totally got this!" Kelly shot her hand up excitedly like a rocket. "I've taken control of alien drones and ships hundreds of times back on OOO, I can pilot it no problem!"
"Not even gonna ask, go and take out her four primary weapon cannons. We won't have to worry about anything else she pulls on us and we can outspeed her then." Lars explained with authority.
"It's a pretty big ship, she'll need someone to cover her." Steven said as he looked at Star. "Whaddya say? Think Starry Quartz can handle it?"
"Space battle!" Star shouted. "Let's go shoot lasers in the cosmos like the aliens we are!!" Star grabbed her brother's arms and twirled them in the air, the light quickly overtaking them and soon becoming one.
"Whoa, since when was that a thing?" Lars asked, confused by the dragonfly creature that was made up of his friends.
"Since we saved Mewni from an evil lizard." Marco shrugged. "Their main focus is combining and multiplying Steven's powers with Star's … meaning flight, super stats, shields, and an ungodly amount of magic."
"Why doesn't that sound even the slightest bit strange to me anymore?"
"Because this is your life now." Marco patted his old friend on the back as Kelly was sucked into the lower decks.
========================================================================
"This…is…AMAZING!" Kelly squealed as she was plopped into the smaller ship. "It kinda looks like a car."
"The one year I had in engineering class helped with that, the rest is on Fluorite." Lars answered through the ship's radio. "Apparently she has two Peridots and a Bismuth inside of her fusion, so she's really great when it comes to making and maintaining tech."
"Alright Steven, I now share your sentiment of Fluorite being the best!" She shouted, shifting the levers into position and starting up the engine.
" Steven greatly appreciates the thought." Starry answered through their coms. " Ready to make skid marks across the galaxy?"
"I was born ready!" She stepped on the gas. "Let's see what this baby can doOOOOOO!!!" She flew right past the giant warship they were supposed to fight. "So … many … gs …"
" Sorry…..it's still in….the prototype stage….so the kinks haven't…been fully tested." The polygamous fusion answered slowly.
She pulled back, slowing down to a more manageable speed. "It's cool … just flew too close to the sun there." Would have to ease herself into this.
"But there's no sun nearby. Is it cloaked somehow?" This was going to be another Peridot situation, wasn't it? They had to make sure to be selective about what the off colors watched on tv when they got back to earth.
"Alright space ship, taste the power of space magic!" Starry Quartz shouted, blasting off one of the cannons. "Why don't we form more often? We have lasers that can cut through gem ships and take open portals regardless of scissors."
"Not to offend all the fusions that like staying that way, but there is the problem of them taking control and overwriting personalities and all that." Kelly reminded them as she shot off another one of Emeralds blasters.
"I was just saying for fights. I mean Mina alone would be less of a nightmare, we still haven't gotten anything to actually damage her with and Marco only made her stronger."
"It was either that or she rip us to shreds, I think she just hates anything not Mewman by this point … Jasper notwithstanding weirdly enough." Marco defended himself.
"Two Xenophobes bonding on a hybrid that offends them both just by existing." Kelly pondered as she flew away from a couple of missiles locked onto her. "We bring people together in weird ways."
"Yeah, there's Marco and Peridot, Lapis and Mom, Princess Spiderbite with Slime, Tom and Jana, odd friendships and relationships all around." Starry did a barrel roll under an incoming middle. "Even Lars and the Off Colors."
"And I couldn't be happier for it." The pink skinned captain smirked. " Okay Kelly, Star, Steven, you got one left and we're home free."
"Let's double team it then!" Kelly grinned, rushing at the one cannon with her lasers primed.
"Oh heck yeah!" Starry's arms glowed in a rainbow of colors. "They might not hear screams in space, but I got a little song I like to perform. Shiney Emerald Music Note Rainstorm!" A barrage of shiney and pointy music notes manifested and rained down on the destiny destroyer.
"And combine it with Comet Crushing Giga Rush!!" Kelly shouted, firing up a barrage of blasts herself.
The ship was helpless, even as it fired off the last of its missiles, the weapon exploding instantly, all but one of the missles being destroyed and..heading towards her. "Oh crap, oh crap.."
Kaboooom
She tried turning away, only for the missle to hit the back of her thrusters, forcing her downwards fast. "KELLY!" Multiple voices shouted as she fiddled with the controls.
"I can't steer, and this thing is overheating!" She shouted, noticing a small flame come out of a hole. "Guys, I'm going down!"
" Hold on, we got you! Kelly I'm coming! Steven hold on a second…!" The familiar and uncomfortable sounds of a fusion arguing with itself started ringing in her ears. "We have to stick together! I'm saving her now!"
Kelly could barely focus as she heard the 'shing' of a fusion deforming, and a loud thump on the back of the ship along with a bright pink light following it.
"Steven, what are you doing!?"
"Bracing you for impact! We're going into orbit! " Steven shouted as she finally noticed the planet that they were hurtling towards.
"Ste….Kell….hold o…" The radio became more static until it went silent, the heat from the fire forming around them starting to get to her.
"Ste..Steven…why..?" Why did he still care about her this much, and why was he acting so brash and dumb? She'd have to ask these questions later when she wasn't on the verge of fainting.
