BTTH: The Legend Of Xiu Emperor

Chapter 15: Multi-layered Technique

Who is Hun Xiu?

He is none other than the son of the clan leader, Emperor Hun Tian.

But that's not all.

Hun Xiu's talent is astonishing, and his potential knows no bounds. After all, he activated a super-divine bloodline—a grade eleven bloodline—which has never been seen in the history of the ancient races on the continent.

To put things into perspective, a person with a grade ten bloodline has the potential to become a Dou Di. As long as such a person doesn't meet an untimely death, their future as a Dou Di is almost guaranteed.

However, this potential can only be realized under the right circumstances.

Without the presence of source energy, even possessing a legendary grade ten bloodline, the highest achievable level would remain at Dou Sheng. The dream of becoming a Dou Emperor would never materialize.

For example, Hun Tian Di and Gu Yuan have both remained at the peak of Nine-Star Dou Sheng for a millennium. Despite their unmatched strength on the Douqi Continent, the road to higher realms has been blocked. They lack the power to break through to the heavens.

Hun Xiu understood the elder's words but remained resolute. Nodding firmly, he replied, "Elder, this technique resonates with me, so I chose it. It suits me perfectly."

The elder glanced at the Man-Killing Palm and shook his head in disappointment. "Hun Xiu, listen to me. This technique is only a yellow-level fighting skill—it's unworthy of your talent."

The elder was clearly frustrated. How could someone with such unparalleled aptitude make such a poor choice? The Man-Killing Palm, a mere yellow-level fighting skill, was not even chosen by the weakest talents in their clan.

Yet, here was Hun Xiu, the most gifted soul in the history of the Soul Clan, choosing such a technique.

The elder suppressed his urge to shout, "Are you out of your mind?" Instead, he handed the Man-Killing Palm back to Hun Xiu, who calmly stated, "This is my decision. Just record it. No need for further persuasion."

With that, Hun Xiu left.

Despite the elder's concerns, Hun Xiu had his reasons. The Man-Killing Palm, while classified as a yellow-level skill, was far from ordinary. It was merely the first style of a multi-layered technique.

The first style was yellow-level.

The second style was black-level.

The third style was earth-level.

The final style was heaven-level.

With the system's assistance, Hun Xiu was confident in mastering the technique to its full potential. But he knew others wouldn't understand his perspective.

"Geniuses are always misunderstood," he thought with a sigh.

After leaving the pavilion, Hun Xiu retreated to the secluded back mountain—his personal training ground. Sitting under a familiar tree, he began studying the Man-Killing Palm.

Despite its modest classification, the technique was profound. Hun Xiu couldn't help but marvel at it. "Even as a yellow-level skill, its power rivals that of black-level techniques when cultivated to the extreme. As expected, the system never disappoints."

Having memorized the technique, Hun Xiu stored the manual in his ring and began practicing.

Each movement of the Man-Killing Palm was fierce and domineering. When Hun Xiu struck a nearby tree, the power of his palm shattered it instantly, leaving behind a deep imprint and sending shockwaves that toppled several other trees in succession.

He observed the destruction and shook his head. "This technique is indeed too simple for my current strength. The yellow-level skill doesn't fully unleash my potential. I'll need to find the second style soon."

Since only one fighting skill could be borrowed from the pavilion per day, Hun Xiu would have to wait until tomorrow to retrieve the next style.

Until then, he resumed his cultivation atop the mountain.

The Next Day.

By noon, Hun Xiu returned to the pavilion.

"Elder," he greeted with a slight bow.

The elder, seeing him return, raised an eyebrow. "Hun Xiu, what brings you back so soon?"

"I've come to return this fighting skill and choose another," Hun Xiu replied calmly.

The elder couldn't help but smirk. "So, he's realized his mistake," he thought.

"Have you finally come to your senses, boy?" the elder asked, his tone filled with slight mockery.

Hun Xiu, however, didn't reply. He silently placed the Man-Killing Palm on the elder's desk and re-entered the pavilion.

The elder watched him leave and sighed. "If you'd listened to me from the start, you wouldn't be in this situation now."

"If I had known this would happen, I wouldn't have done it in the first place," he muttered to himself, shaking his head.
