BTTH: The Legend Of Xiu Emperor

Chapter 52: Hun Xiu's Insight

(Notes: Fighting Energy or Spirit/ Dou Qi. I'll slowly teach you some words.)

After just one exchange, Hun Feng and Hun Yu created some distance between themselves.

The two floated in the void, wings fluttering behind them, their faces pale. It was evident that their previous powerful moves had consumed a significant amount of energy.

As the aftermath of the clash dissipated, Hun Yu rushed toward Hun Feng like a flying arrow. His body radiated a red dou qi that spread outward, turning the surrounding power of heaven and earth into crimson flames—hot and domineering.

These overwhelming flames transformed into sharp arrows centered around Hun Yu and flew directly at Hun Feng.

"Well done," Hun Feng sneered.

Not one to back down, Hun Feng's body ignited with a powerful flame aura, turning the space around him into a sea of fire.

As Hun Yu approached, Hun Feng punched out with his flame-coated fist.

Boom!

The collision unleashed a fiery shockwave, sweeping in all directions. Both fighters retreated several meters before stabilizing themselves.

Hun Feng's eyes flickered with surprise but quickly returned to calm. "You've actually reached the level of a Five-Star Dou Huang."

From the brief clash, he could clearly sense the fluctuations in Hun Yu's dou qi, which matched his own. This confirmed Hun Yu had recently advanced to the Five-Star Dou Huang rank.

"It was just luck," Hun Yu replied.

He raised his palm, where a red flame danced, gradually condensing into a fiery spear.

Whoosh!

The spear flew straight toward Hun Feng.

Hun Yu was not one for words—he preferred action.

"Hmph."

Hun Feng snorted coldly and punched the spear mid-flight, flames surging fiercely around his fist.

Boom!

The spear disintegrated under the force of his punch.

Hun Feng then charged at Hun Yu like an arrow, his fiery fists aiming to overwhelm his opponent.

Hun Yu met the attack head-on, his own fist colliding with Hun Feng's.

"Xiu'er, who do you think will win?" Gu Yuan asked, his eyes fixed on the battle.

In the void, the two combatants appeared evenly matched, and it was difficult to determine who had the upper hand.

Hun Xiu didn't answer immediately, instead observing the ongoing fight.

Hun Xiu had to admit that while both Hun Yu and Hun Feng were outstanding talents with Dou Di bloodlines, they were still inferior to him. However, their cultivation realms were much higher than his.

Despite this, Hun Xiu felt confident. If he were to face either of them, he was certain he could defeat them.

Hun Xiu finally spoke. "Father-in-law, I believe Hun Feng will win."

"Oh? How can you be so sure?" Gu Yuan asked, his tone skeptical. "Right now, Hun Yu and Hun Feng are evenly matched. Are you saying this just because Hun Feng is your brother?"

Gu Yuan shook his head, appearing unconvinced. However, his words were deliberate.

Gu Yuan, with his vast experience, already knew Hun Feng would be the victor. He wanted to test Hun Xiu's perception and reasoning.

The elders on the platform also perked up, eager to hear Hun Xiu's "insightful" analysis.

While they too knew Hun Feng was holding back his strength, they wanted to see if Hun Xiu could discern the subtleties of the battle despite his lower cultivation level.

Hun Xiu, still holding Gu Xun'er in his arms, smiled faintly.

He understood that Gu Yuan was testing him.

"Father-in-law," Hun Xiu began, "although Hun Yu and Hun Feng seem evenly matched, there's a clear difference. Hun Yu is using his full strength with every move, while Hun Feng remains calm and composed. He hasn't unleashed his full power yet. Hun Feng is waiting for the right moment to end the fight with a single decisive move."

"Oh?" Gu Yuan's eyes gleamed with approval. "Now that you mention it, that does seem to be the case."

The elders nodded slightly, satisfied with Hun Xiu's observation. For someone at a lower level to accurately assess the situation was commendable.

Gu Yuan then asked, "Xiu'er, can you deduce Hun Feng's current cultivation realm and strength?"

Hun Xiu replied confidently, "Hun Feng is at the Six-Star Dou Huang level, the same as Hun Yu. He likely broke through recently and is using this battle as an opportunity to stabilize his cultivation."

"Not bad," Gu Yuan said, nodding in approval. "And if you were to fight either Hun Feng or Hun Yu, would you win?"

"Of course," Hun Xiu answered without hesitation. "One move is all I'd need."

Hun Xiu's tone was filled with confidence. Although his realm was indeed lower, defeating either of them was well within his capabilities.

Initially, he had thought about saying "half a move," but he decided against sounding too arrogant. After all, a lion uses its full strength to hunt even a rabbit. One move seemed a more appropriate claim.

"Ha!" Gu Yuan chuckled but didn't entirely believe Hun Xiu's boast.

The elders on the platform also exchanged skeptical glances.

While they wanted to dismiss Hun Xiu's claim as mere bravado, they hesitated.

After all, this was the same Hun Xiu who had survived the high-level Earth-rank attack "Extreme Wind Finger." What couldn't he accomplish?

Defeating Hun Yu and Hun Feng in one move seemed trivial compared to that feat.

At this point, Hun Tiandi spoke up. "Xiu'er, you're just bragging. You can't actually do it."

"Hm?"

The elders turned their attention to Hun Tiandi, puzzled by his remark.

Why would Hun Tiandi doubt what they themselves had already started to believe?
