Chapter 5: The Frightened Brother Long

After an unknown amount of time, when the four of them woke up again, they found that they had arrived in an abandoned manor. It is a wasteland shrouded in moonlight. Under the dim glow, the ground is filled with a faint black mist. Not far away, on an abandoned and rusty car, a huge crow stood on the roof, squawking.

"Where is this? Prison?"

The four people who woke up looked around in shock. It was obvious that they still couldn't understand what had just happened. There were no guards with guns or cold cells, just a factory building in the distance that looked as though it had been abandoned for a long time. It was clear that this was not the Iron Castle Prison but outside the prison. Precisely because of this, they were shocked. They knew that the four of them were serving prisoners, so how could they be outside the prison?

Of course, the four prisoners never thought that they hadn't actually left the prison but had entered a different space created by Yang Chi through the [Prison Reform System] - the world of Dead by Daylight. Looking at the unfamiliar scene around them, the four prisoners looked at each other, a trace of confusion in their eyes.

"Where are we? Did that kid let us out?" one of them asked.

"Damn it, you didn't throw us out on purpose to kill us for escaping from prison, did you?" another questioned.

"It's impossible. There is no death penalty now. Even if we escape from prison, he can't kill us," a third reassured.

Among them, Brother Long knew the contents of the prison law the most. However, the scene in front of him made Brother Long a little confused. Didn't they want to lock them in a small dark room? Why throw them into such an abandoned manor? They decided to try walking a certain distance in one direction.

What makes the four of them a little frustrated is that they thought they were out of prison, but the sudden appearance of a high wall in the distance broke their illusions. Obviously, this was still a prison, just an open space within the prison. After trying many methods but failing to get over the wall, the four prisoners recalled the contents of the previous letter.

"Do you still remember? The letter said that we can only leave here if we repair five generators. How about we try?" one prisoner suggested, but the suggestion was quickly met with scorn from the other prisoners.

"Try it! Do you really believe the nonsense in that envelope? It also said that a butcher is chasing us."

"Haha, if he really has the guts to send people to kill us, he will be finished. The people of the prison committee will definitely make him miserable."

Hearing his companion's words, the prisoner who had previously suggested repairing the generator nodded. It was true that the Prison Committee kept a close eye on the Iron Castle Prison. The young warden didn't even dare impose a slightly heavier punishment, let alone kill someone.

At this time, Brother Long spoke up. "Well, we are just sitting here, why don't we separate and see what is going on here?"

Brother Long's proposal quickly gained support from the other three people. In everyone's opinion, this place was really weird, and it would be better to figure out the situation as soon as possible. But the four of them could never have imagined what was about to happen. At that moment, behind an abandoned wall in the distance, a pair of cold eyes was watching them closely.

The cold moon hung high in the sky, casting dim moonlight. Brother Long walked carefully along the high wall, but he felt disappointed to find the manor seemed to be enclosed by high walls, making it unrealistic to climb over them alone. While walking, Brother Long discovered a huge iron gate, and next to it was something resembling an electric switch. It was clear that the switch controlled the iron door, but when Brother Long tried to operate it, he found there was no electricity.

Only then did Brother Long remember the contents of the letter by the campfire. "Do I need to fix the generator before I can go out? Damn it, what on earth is this pretty boy doing?" Just as Bald Brother Long was cursing under his breath, a scream suddenly pierced the silence of the manor. This scream was like thunder on the ground, causing Brother Long to tremble in fright.

At this moment, Brother Long forgot about the door in front of him and hurriedly ran towards the sound of the screams because he recognized it as the voice of one of his companions. Sure enough, he found a prisoner among the weeds sitting on the ground, covering his legs and screaming in agony. "What happened?" Brother Long hurried to his companion, whose face was pale, and sweat beaded densely on his forehead, showing the degree of pain.

"My legs! Help me," the prisoner wailed, pointing to his thigh. It was only then Brother Long discovered a dark object on the prisoner's right calf. Under the dim moonlight, Brother Long was shocked to realize it was a large bear trap. The sharp serrated teeth of the trap pierced deeply into the prisoner's calf, and the blood had soaked through his trouser legs.

"Damn, why is there such a thing here?" In shock, Brother Long hurriedly squatted down to help, but the trap was too tight. Despite his efforts, he could only manage to open it a little. Just as Brother Long tried to break open the trap with all his strength, he suddenly heard heavy breathing behind him. A very bad feeling crept over him, and he looked back suddenly. Brother Long was completely stunned.

Not far behind him stood a man who was two meters tall, holding a giant machete and looking at him coldly. Under the moonlight, the man's wooden mask appeared pale and ferocious, like a ghost. Staring at the opponent's figure, as solid as an iron tower, Brother Long was utterly lost. Was this guy a human or a ghost?
