CELESTIAL Chronicles: Death and Vengeance

A giant serpent, the size of an anaconda sprung at Keith with incredible speed and swallowed him whole. The snake hissed in victory after successfully swallowing the human. It thought that he wouldn't survive due to the acids in its stomach.

As if he could read his mind Merlin said, "You think a little acid is going to be enough to kill him? If you do, I guess you are dumber than I initially thought."

The serpent could understand his words because Merlin could speak in beast tongue very fluently. The serpent was clearly pissed off and wanted to kill Merlin. It raised its tail and got ready to slam Merlin but its heart suddenly stopped beating and it died. Its body fell to the ground with a loud resounding thud.

Keith allowed himself to be swallowed because of the snake's hard scales, he could break them if he wanted to but he thought that it would be more fun if killed it from the inside. As soon as got inside he went straight for the heart and pierced it with his sharp dagger. Keith then crawled out of the snake's mouth and removed the green liquid on his body and washed himself using water manipulation.

"I am never doing that ever again," Keith said. He was disgusted by the smell of the green like liquid and this horrible scent smelled even worse due to his strong sense of smell.

Keith wiped off the blood of his dagger and they ventured further into the cave. They encountered countless B Rank serpents. Each one of them having different unique features. Some of the serpents they encountered had a high speed and were also good at being stealthy.

Keith would deal with these types of serpents because of his agility and when he encountered snakes faster than him, he would use his lightning manipulation to increase his speed to match the serpents' speed. Merlin would deal with strength types and magic-types.

With the strength types, he would use his speed to his advantage to dodge their heavy attacks and hit them with all of his force. He would also use blood control to stop the movements of the snakes that attacked him from the back and would throw them to the wall.

The magic type serpents would spew out green fireballs at Merlin and he would teleport away from the attacks because of the explosions they caused that would injure him really badly and they also had a corrosive effect. Merlin would close in the distance and made their hearts burst.

Keith would also deal with serpents with both a high defensive stat because the Defense points, he would get would be beneficial for him because his was defense stat was pretty much lacking. After two long hours of fighting Merlin and Keith were now A Rank.

They fought a few more B Ranks but they noticed that they didn't gain anymore stat points from killing them. They were both bummed out because they couldn't gain any stat points from killing lower rank monsters. They were a little sad because their plans of killing low ranked monsters until they became S Rank were all sent down the drain but their mood changed after a system notification.

The drawback of using this power are as follows: you can use only use it two times a day before going completely blind and your stats will be halved when you use this skill and fail to defeat your enemy]

They didn't bother reading through the information because they already how it worked. They ventured deeper into the cave until they reached a giant iron door. Keith opened the door and the room alongside Merlin.

The room was relatively dark and they couldn't even see a single thing even with the abilities that allowed them to see in the dark. The gates behind slowly shut and they heard a loud roar. The crystal inside the room lit up as soon as the roar left the beast's mouth.

The duo looked at the front to see what they were dealing with. Upon seeing the creature, Keith called upon his dagger and Merlin created a scythe using light manipulation. The serpent's body was 60 meters long and 6 meters in width. It has cyan blue scales that looked impenetrable, three heads and yellow eyes. it gave off an intimidating aura that sent shivers down their spines.

Merlin and Keith knew that a hydra was a beast no to be taken lightly no matter what even if their low ranking. Hydras were feared for their poisonous venom and their quick speed.

Keith dashed at the hydra and jumped in the air and aimed his dagger at the middle but its right head caught his leg and threw him to a nearby wall. Keith used his teleportation to reappear on the hydra's middle head and stabbed its eye with his dagger. The left head shot out a fireball which Keith was able to dodge easily because of Flash Step.

The hydra used it tail and slammed right at Keith, he luckily teleported just in the nick of time. The hydra chased after Keith and it was able to catch up to him since its speed was far superior than Keith. It sank its teeth into Keith left leg and ripped it off.

As Keith was falling down, he swung his body to the side and shot a concentrated beam of fire to the middle but what happened next surprised him a little. The middle head absorbed his attack and shot out a torrent of flames at Keith which he was able to block with a wall of ice.

The head noticed that the wall wasn't melting, it decided to ram through the wall of ice. It dashed toward the wall and broke through it effortlessly. Keith teleported himself on top of the middle and stabbed the eye of the hydra but his weapon bounced off not even injuring the hydra. The hydra used its tail to grab Keith's body and threw him to the wall.

Keith hit his head on the rock-solid wall and fell unconscious. The hydra turned it attention toward Merlin and spew out green liquid from its mouth. Merlin dodged the attack and slashed one head with light scythe but it regrew back in a matter of seconds. The hydra grabbed Merlin and he noticed that he couldn't activate his abilities.

He tried to free himself from the hydra's grip but the more he struggled the tighter the hydra's grip on him. The hydra slammed him to the ground ten times and threw him to wall, knocking him out unconscious.
