Chapter 9: Chapter 9: First invention (4)
A few moments later, Serafall returned with several types of documents.
"Nice... this is exactly what I needed," Marcus said as he checked an empty document, then a filled one.
"Are these the only ones you use?" he asked, after inspecting the papers. The second coming of Solomon had no interest in what was written on the pages—he was only concerned with the similarities between them.
"Yes, we use a completely standardized form," Serafall answered with a serious nod, as though they were discussing battle plans against a formidable foe.
"I see... then this should be easy. I only need a basic A.I. for this..." he muttered to himself.
"Hmm?" Serafall was slightly baffled as she watched him turn away and walk toward a plain-looking clay object. Now, she knew this was the main material he used—a base material that he could transform into whatever he wanted.
Before long, she watched him draw on the clay with his index finger. At the tip of his finger was a gold-and-white circle. He was drawing runes, effortlessly, with just a finger.
"Umm... Master, my time is running out. I sort of need to return to the office," she said, looking slightly uncomfortable. She didn't want to interrupt him while he was working to make her life easier.
"Then go. I'll contact you when I'm ready. Make sure you have some paperwork ready to test—dummy files at first," he replied without even glancing at her.
"Don't worry, I'll bring them," she winked, then disappeared into her magic circle.
Back in her office, Serafall grinned, her gaze fixed on the stack of paperwork on her desk. A sinister smile, worthy of a devil, spread across her beautiful face.
"Soon, your reign of terror will be over! Hehehehahaha!" she laughed maniacally. The laugh was borderline creepy. No one knew, but Satan Leviathan and Satan Lucifer were on the verge of insanity due to the overwhelming amount of paperwork they had to handle.
Serafall felt like she was about to be reborn the moment she heard there was a solution to the madness of bureaucracy. She never signed up for paperwork when she won the position of Leviathan, nor did she expect it when the Devils won the civil war.
Nope! She was supposed to be one of the most important figures in the Underworld—a leader! The paperwork was a conspiracy by the old devils in the council!
"Heh… once I have the tool, those fools can go kiss their own asses! Once I have more time, I'll be able to spend it with So-tan!" She giggled happily at the thought of her baby sister.
But then, her mischievous grin faded, replaced by a more thoughtful expression.
Instead of walking back to her desk, she flopped onto the couch, laying back and staring at the ceiling with a curious look. Now, Serafall was thinking about her Master—an enigma she was trying to understand. She had begun building a solid mental profile of him and could discern how much Ars Goetia was influencing her own thoughts.
She could safely assume that he cared about her—enough to want her company. This meant he didn't view the Devils as mere tools.
'Right... he only summoned me because he needed expertise in water. Given that he has Solomon's knowledge, he used it to bind a powerful devil, one who will be useful to him even after he's used my water abilities.'
'This means I can get items for someone like So-tan! But how should I persuade him?'
For a brief moment, she thought about the most obvious way to persuade him, and being a devil, it came naturally. However, once she started down that path, she knew she wouldn't be able to stop him...
Timing and reasoning would be key. Once he starts caring about females—and understands the human body—her Master would hit puberty soon...
Once that happened, she could make her move. For a moment, Serafall had a very lewd look on her face.
For some reason, the idea of corrupting someone who could build things like Longinuses made her hot.
Is it a devil thing? The thought of corrupting someone who could recreate the Biblical God's work?
"Well... Master... just wait... Levi-tan shall teach you all you need to know about the ladies," Satan Leviathan said in a hot yet bubbly tone.
A Few Days Later
A few days later, Serafall was summoned by her Master, carrying a small pile of dummy files for testing.
When she arrived, she saw something that resembled a printer... no, it was a futuristic-looking printer with sharp edges.
"Is this it?" the black-haired devil lady asked, her curiosity piqued. Was this her salvation?
"Yep. Let me explain," Marcus said, his tone clearly excited. Satan Leviathan picked up on his enthusiasm immediately.
Internally, she smiled. If she wanted his attention, all she needed to do was talk about his inventions.
"See that screen?" Marcus pointed to a monitor beside the machine. "When you put a document inside the Mass Signing Work Simplifying Machine, or 'Signer' for short, it works out the key points of the document. Instead of reading through a few paragraphs, you only need to read a few lines, and then just press Yes or No. The machine will sign your signature for you."
"If you don't understand the simplification, you can always press No, and the Signer will pull the paper out so you can read it normally," he explained to Serafall, who was already drooling halfway through the explanation.
She had already understood what it did. It was amazing! Why hadn't Ajuka come up with this!?
At this point, her Master was already a better inventor than Ajuka! Well, maybe that was just her bias, but still!
Inventions/Tech/Sacred Gears
M.T.M (Motion to Magic) Castor MK II:
A magic-casting (shooting) device in the shape of a handgun.
Classification: Pseudo Low-Medium Sacred Gear made up of 37 magic circles fused into a single system.
Composition: The case is built from pure titanium. Inside, magic circles are placed within barrier magic to prevent heat from affecting the metal (Marcus assumes the magic power itself is what deforms the metal, rather than traditional heat).
Key Magic Techniques:
Basic M.T.M Technique: Uses a magic circle to capture motion, converting it into energy, and then into magic that even a regular human can use. All they need to do is press the trigger.
Basic Barrier Rail Technique: Using barriers as rails, empowered by Acceleration circles, the blast's force builds up. The longer the rail, the stronger the blast at the end.
Mass Signing Work Simplifying Machine (Signer):
An electronic device designed to simplify the process of signing documents.
Classification: A futuristic item that won't appear on the human market until at least 2025, due to its basic A.I.
Composition: Made from transmuted items such as plastic, metal, and rubber, it's far more durable than regular materials.
Technology:
Basic A.I.: Capable of sorting text by identifying keywords in specific areas of the document, simplifying the text for the user.
