Delayed Transfer

Mark, the twins, and Liriel waited by the RV with Melina, Nedertu, Lisa, Connor, and Norleen.

“It’s so sad that you’re not bringing us with you,” Melina complained but Mark could see that she was not serious.

“Nedertu needs to drive the RV since I will anchor the portal on its door and since I’m not bringing Nedertu, you should accompany him. I’ll be storing the original RV and Nedertu will drive yours. In case of emergency, you can contact me, and the elven sisters can also contact me,” Mark told everyone.

Soon Halinda arrived with Toby and Deo and three kids and their mothers. Mark saw the three kids were the same ones who accompanied him and the twins in their dungeon dive in the Culano village. He saw that the children brought bags with them and Halinda informed him that it was for their change of clothes.

“I’ll bring them back the night before we arrive in the next town. In case you need to contact me, Melina has a way,” Mark told Halinda and the other mothers.

After that, Mark stored the RV in his inventory and retrieved Nedertu and Milena’s RV. Then he went inside and anchored the portal on the master bedroom’s door. The kids said their goodbye but their mothers could see the excitement on the children’s faces regarding their vacation to the oasis paradise. Once everyone had said their goodbyes, Mark and the children went to the twenty-first floor of his dungeon, the oasis paradise.

The first thing that Mark and the kids did when they arrived was to go to a large room on the first floor and there, Mark kept all the things inside the room in his inventory and arranged comfortable sleeping mattresses, a lot of stuffed toys, electric fans so the air would be moving and for white noise and some night lights that would imitate the galaxy outside the planet. They will all sleep in that room at night.

When the kids learned that they would all sleep in that room, they excitedly helped him arrange the mattresses but Mark found their arrangement questionable since it was arranged in an unknown logic but he let them be.

Since it was already nighttime, after a huge dinner composed of fried chicken and rice, pizzas, and hamburgers, and some fruit juices just like what the kids ordered, they all took turns taking a shower then prepared to go to sleep. Mark briefly wondered if it was alright to keep feeding the children unhealthy food but he just shrugged and thought that that was what healing spells were for.

Before sleeping though, the twins requested a bedtime story so Mark told everyone some bedtime stories from one of Hans Christian Andersen’s tales, and soon everyone except Toby and Mark were asleep.

Mark went outside followed by Toby.

“What are you going to do?” Toby asked.

“I’m cleaning the mess that everyone made earlier while all of you were here and we’re battling the undead outside,” Mark replied.

Toby assisted Mark which he really did not need to since Mark was using his Telekinesis and just stored the mess in his inventory and destroyed it using his skill so Toby was just following Mark around.

“I asked my father earlier to stay and help out with the battle and even told him that I would run to you and borrow the  necklace item that allowed me to cast Fire Bolt but he forbade me and told me to join everyone here.”

“That was the right thing to do. It allowed your father to command the battlefield without any worry. The lich was extremely strong and he even had two undead dragons to fight for him. Yoda had an extremely fierce battle with the two dragons! The lich also had spells that allowed him to be immune to my attack spells so again, it was a good thing that you didn’t join. There will be plenty of opportunities in the future once you’re more powerful.”

“I could have helped!” Toby stubbornly insisted even though his eyes went wide when Mark mentioned the two undead dragons.

“Did you know that Nedertu and two of his friends died?”

Toby gasped when he heard it and asked how they got revived.

“I have a mythical item that could summon an archangel named Vikander. It assisted us in defeating the lich who escaped but did give a fatal attack on Nedertu and his friends. Fortunately, the Archangel Vikander had a revive spell.”

Toby then clamored to see the mythical item so Mark showed him the staff.

“This is a very powerful item! I can feel myself getting so much stronger while holding it and I can sense that I can summon the archangel while the staff is in my hands!”

The teenager then returned the staff to Mark. He told the kid that they were all done and should return to where the other children were sleeping. He didn’t want the twins and Liriel waking up without him there.

The three days of vacation were spent enjoying their life to the fullest. The place was filled with laughter from the kids. They spent hours swimming in the lake with the colorful fishes until all the children were expert swimmers even Liriel. They also spent several hours watching animated films and the continuation of Naruto although they did start at the beginning of the anime so everyone could catch up.

They ate all types of food and some of the children even suffered indigestion. It was a good thing that Mark’s spells could cure it so there was no lingering issue with that. Mark sweated at the thought of bringing the kids home with health issues and being confronted by their mothers.

When Mark announced to the children that they would be returning home that evening, which was the third day they spent in the oasis, the kids complained and asked if they could stay a few more days. Even Toby was looking a bit dismayed at the thought of their vacation ending.

He told everyone that the caravan would arrive in the next town the next day and that Mark promised their mothers that they would return the day before arriving in the next town so the kids spent the whole day playing in the water fiercely as if desperate to make sure that their last few hours would be spent like it was the last day of theirs lives on the planet.

Mark laughingly told the kids that they didn’t have to worry since they could return to the oasis anytime but the children ignored him. Even Liriel was laughing with the other kids and since all of them were expert swimmers, they looked like fishes in the lake.

Milena also called him every night to report what was happening in the caravan and she had to keep reassuring the kids’ mothers that everything was alright. She even needed to lend the rings to the mothers so they could talk to him which reassured the women.

Milena also reported that during their three-day travel, Nedertu taught Connor how to drive so now one other assistant knew how to drive and that meant they could drive the two RVs simultaneously while traveling but he just told Milena that he would think about it once they left the town and started journeying again.

The sun was setting when they returned to the circus caravan. Halinda and the other mothers were already there waiting so Mark invited everyone for dinner. The children then spouted off the food they wanted and their mothers just shrugged and told Mark that he could serve whatever he wanted so he did. Toby ran off to invite the kids’ other family members so they needed to set up outside for a feast and a lot more people came so Mark needed to conjure a lot more food.

People kept coming so Mark spent the rest of the night replicating food but everyone had a good time. When the party ended around two in the morning, Mark saw that the twins and Liriel were already asleep in the bed bunk so he followed Milena and her assistants to their RV so he could replicate the items that they would sell in town the next day.
