Delayed Transfer

Mark then gave the old butler one of the buckets of sour cream popcorn he prepared and a can of cherry coke so the butler could taste it and judge if the nobles and officials could eat the movie snack without any issues. After tasting the said snack, the butler told him it had a unique taste and that the audience members shouldn’t have any issue in partaking in the snack specially prepared by the circus.

After that, they waited for the second film to finish while the butler and Mark talked to each other about the normal daily lives of the citizens of Narcone. Since the old man learned that this was the first time that he had been to the city and that he was actually the source of the movies, the old man became very open and verbal with him.

“Our lives here in the city are very stable, safe, and exciting due to the presence of the three dungeons. The last time a great excitement that the citizens experienced was when I was a young man forty years ago. Powerful twin dragons, for some reason, suddenly attacked our city but the archmages defeated them in just a few minutes. The city received some damage but all in all, no harm was done since our mages were truly powerful so the citizens still feel safe inside its walls.”

To reciprocate, Mark told the butler some exciting and funny experiences that he had encountered while he was in the circus during their travels but the weird thing was the old butler kept praising the city as if the old man was recruiting Mark to remain in Narcone.

Soon, they heard the audience members cheering and clapping inside the room Mark and the others set up as the theater to show the Star Wars films so Mark, the butler, and the maids that were assigned to assist him readied themselves to serve the popcorn and soda to the officials and nobles. After a few more minutes, the audience members went outside led by Hamil. When everyone saw the popcorn buckets and soda cans that were prepared, Hamil was the one who described what the snacks were, and the circus leader also impressively described the three seasonings that Mark conjured.

He was glad that Hamil and the others in the circus had already tasted the popcorn seasonings and as a matter of fact, they tasted more than what Mark conjured. Hamil also demonstrated how a can of soda could be opened and described the taste while doing so. After the demonstration and description of the snacks, the audience members began taking the buckets of popcorn buckets.

Even though Hamil informed everyone that the snacks should be eaten while watching the film, most of the audience members began eating the popcorn and drinking the soda cans at the spot so Mark had to replicate a lot more to accommodate everyone’s request for more since each one of the moviegoers had to take a bucket of popcorn of each flavor.

While Mark was doing the conjuring which was truly easy for him, Arissa walked towards him while munching on a popcorn.

“Mr. Mark, we were informed by the circus leader that you’re the source of the movies and I know that you can conjure more unique food than this since I’ve already eaten some of your specialty. My father would like to make an appointment to talk to you but be prepared, everyone here who considers themselves as important would probably make an appointment to talk to you as well,” Arissa laughed.

Mark didn’t know how to feel about Hamil’s confidence that he was not going to leave the circus. Hamil war right of course, since he loved the circus right now and intends to keep roaming the lands inside it.

“They would have to talk to Hamil regarding scheduling an appointment with me since he is our leader,” Mark deflected the issue back to the circus leader and Arissa just laughed again while munching on popcorn.

Soon the audience members went back inside the theater room, bringing more buckets of popcorn flavored with salt, butter, and sour cream powder and a few cans of soda with them and Mark followed everyone in. Before the last film of the day started, Hamil announced that after forty minutes, he would pause the movie to give everyone a ten-minute bathroom break and soon after, Hamil played the last film.

Mark saw that everyone truly liked the films and he was glad that everyone did since the movies, animes, T.V. shows, and novels that he brought with him from his old world were part of his identity. It may be just the novelty of the things that he conjured but he didn’t care. Everyone in this world loved the core identity of his otakuness. After the movie reached the allotted time when Hamil said that he would pause it, the circus leader did and all the audience members went somewhere to relieve themselves.

It was expected since they did drink a lot of soda and Mark even thought that some of them would clamor to pause the movie earlier.

After the movie ended, the government officials and their families clapped and cheered hard. Everyone kept saying that the three movies were the best shows they had ever seen and Mark could see that Hamil was all smiles. It meant that the circus stay in the city wouldn’t encounter any official problem since more than likely, everyone here would support whatever Hamil would do.

A problem arose though, some of the audience members who probably were the highest ranks amongst them asked Hamil when he would schedule the screening of the next three movies in the franchise. Apparently, Arissa told everyone what Mark had told her about the movies consisting of six more films.

Mark was just glad that he didn’t inform the young lady that not only there were nine movies in the franchise, but there were a lot more shows created in the world of Star Wars.

Mark could see that Hamil was now sweating bullets but he didn’t approach the circus leader to assist him in any way. Hamil should be able to handle the issue.

Arissa walked towards him again but this time she was followed by an older couple Mark assumed as her parents.

“Mr. Mark, this is my father, the Count of Normune, and his wife, my mother.”

Mark greeted the count and his wife but he felt weird about Arissa’s father’s title since he kept expecting Dracula’s accent to come out from the man.

“You are the archmage who brought these unique movies from your country, am I correct?” Arissa’s father asked.

“Yes, sir. But I’m not an archmage yet. I love them so I thought why not share them with people during my travels in these lands,” Mark replied.

“Since it’s late and I assume you would be busy cleaning up the devices in here, I will schedule an appointment with you through the circus leader. Good night, then.”

After Arissa and her parents said their goodbyes, they left and soon all of the officials and nobles left as well. He was impressed that nobody approached him and instead, they talked to Hamil and briefly at that. Mark, Hamil, Nedertu, and the other three people from the circus took the equipment from where they were set up and Mark stored it in his inventory. After that, Hamil talked to the butler for a few minutes then all of them left the castle to go back to the circus.
