Chapter 18: The Game Center / Masked man
Anastasia returned to her seat and a few minutes after more students who were also part of the Elite Class entered the room.
Andrew taught them the same thing and it took the other student a while to understand it but after a while they ,too, were able to get a grasp of the three methods of energy.
A loud chime echoed through the rooms and halls of the Academy signaling the end of the academic day.
Rising from my seat I, along with everyone else, left the classroom and started to return to our dormitories, others might've gone to go get food or just hang out.
Exiting the academies academic building I walked a few meters away and made it to the academy's train station, hopping on a train headed towards the game center.
The academy has five main buildings: The Academic Center(the main reason students are let in.),The Food Court, The Student/Teacher Dormitories, The Battlers Arena/The Rose Garden, and The Game Center.
The place I'm headed to, The Game Center, is.. well.. game center. Basically at the game center money doesn't matter because the center runs on a different type of currency, Cipher, which is only used across the five big academies and can only be traded into money not the other way around.
I just so happen to be one of the best betters and players at the Game Center so I decided I'd come back here since I haven't been there since I left for the Aquinox Realm.
#Welcome to The Game Center. Wait until all the passengers have left the train then you may enter. Welcome to The Game Center.#
The train's sliding doors opened all across the train as most of the passengers, some students and a few teacher, left for the Game Center, myself included.
The Game Center was one big building almost as big as the academic building. It was a huge building resembling that of a casino and had the word 'Game Center' sliding by a holographic screen that circled around tip of Game Center's building.
Pushing past the crowd I pressed on the doors into the Game Center and entered.
The first game Slots. Walking up to a open slot machine between the many other machines that were already taken I pulled the lever of the machine.
Looking at the displayed numbers which were all spinning at an insane speed before the first lane stop and showed a '7' then the next number was displayed and it was... a '7' the third and last lane on the slot machine spun for what felt like an hour before stopping on... lucky number '7'.
'Jackpot!!!... 777.'
'That's one. Lets move onto roulette.'
"One million on red."
The crowd surrounded around the wheel gave me a mix of a confused and surprised look after all I had just randomly walked up to the table and went a million on red without saying a word.
Looking at the roulette wheel spin and the ball roll across the edge of the table never falling into one specific slot. The wheel spun for a few seconds before slowing down and the ball followed suit as it slowed down and rolled in a red slot.
The Cipher is automatically transferred via phone so I rolled out and went to the next game.
'Poker.'
Sitting at a table with five other people I looked at the four cards displayed on the table and back at the two cards in my hand.
'I have a single pair. But I still have a chance.'
Suddenly one of the teachers sitting at the table goes all in for 10 million Cipher. With two players who had already folded and another who just folded now it was only three of us left.
I have two King of Hearts and on the table there's an Ace of Hearts, Queen of Hearts, Jack of Hearts, and an Ace of Spades.
I had already gone all in and I had nothing to lose. If this last card wasn't a Ten of Hearts I wouldn't be able to win because that cocky teacher either has a royal flush already or he has something of similar power.
With the three of us all in we all waited in belated breath for what the last card would be.
It was a Ten of Hearts. Exactly what I needed.
The teacher flipped over his cards to show a four of a kind with Aces, the other student seated next to me showed his hands as well and revealed a Full House: Three Aces, Two Queens.
But alas they both lost to my royal flush.
Scooping in all the physical Chips I stood from the table. As I was walking through the Game Center I got a notification of me receiving my 30.5 million Cipher dollar pot.
'Quite the haul.'
Walking past the slot machines, I exited the Game Center and hopped on the train once again and just on time to make it to the next stop, The Battlers Arena.
The Battlers Arena is an arena where students can battle each other and bystanders can bet on who they think will win, it's also the same arena the students fought in to be selected as one of the ten talents and is also used for doing other major events that require fighting.
I ,on the other hand, don't come here to bet, well at least not most of the time, I come here to watch interesting fights and fighters.
I also heard there was a new masked student on the horizon who people have been saying could beat Floyd or Anastasia in a fight. I personally think they must be crazy to think that but hey you never know.
Below me was the very arena I had just fought in and currently there was a battle just about to take place with a giant crowd that circled the entire arena grounds gathered around it to watch.
"The masked man versus Anastasia, who did you think is gonna win?" Girl one.
"The masked man, of course, I mean look at how cool he looks with the purple lit eyes and those huge muscles." Girl two.
"3....2.....1.. Go." The robotic voice sounded the start of the battle as I rushed to the edge of the handrail to get a better view, I saw Anastasia rushing forward with her signature Shadow Demon rushing alongside her.
On the other side the masked figure stood still before summoning his own shadow demon that lurched forward as the masked person flanked from the rear.
"Who do you think will win?" Someone said in my ear.
