Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Members
(A/N: Just a heads-up, the members here don't have the same destiny or personality as their originals. This is tied to the Omniverse concept, where the chosen individuals come from AU/Alternative Universes. So yeah, don't be surprised if some characters act differently from their original versions.)
After waiting for a while, the system's voice chimed, informing Rozen that the invitations had been successfully sent and were now pending acceptance by three random individuals across the Omniverse.
Then, after some time...
[Ding! All invitations accepted! Teleporting the newly invited members now!]
With a mix of anticipation and curiosity, Rozen watched as the fabric of space and time distorted before him. A portal large enough to accommodate several people appeared right in front of him, its edges shimmering with an otherworldly glow.
Suddenly—
BANG! BANG! BANG!
The sound of something solid hitting the floor echoed through the room. Three distinct figures tumbled out of the portal, landing unceremoniously on the ground. Rozen immediately noticed they were all human, judging from their appearances. Relief and intrigue flickered across his face as he took a closer look.
"I-It's hurt... Hiss..."
The familiar sound of his native language reached Rozen's ears. His eyes lit up with excitement. Could it be? Were the new members fellow countrymen?
"Sigh, at least it's not Chinese," Rozen muttered under his breath. His comment wasn't out of prejudice but born from the countless fanfictions he had read featuring situations similar to his.
Many Chinese isekai travelers in those stories tended to despise and hate Japan, often driven by their country's history or personal grievances. Moreover, their personalities frequently leaned toward morally ambiguous behavior after gaining significant power.
Not to mention, Rozen had noticed a recurring trope in such stories: the infamous phrase "there can only be one king on the mountain." This often meant Chinese isekai travelers refused to coexist with others, inevitably leading to conflict due to overlapping interests or ambitions.
Setting aside those thoughts for now, Rozen focused on observing the three new members more closely.
The group consisted of two women and one man, all with distinctly Asian features. The sight brought another wave of relief to Rozen, along with a sense of comfort.
Judging by their appearances, they looked quite young—perhaps even around his own age.
That's good, Rozen thought, his curiosity deepening. He decided to approach them to ensure they were alright.
Clearing his throat, he asked gently, "Ehem, are you guys okay?"
His question seemed to snap one of them—a young man—out of his daze. The boy had been massaging his head, wincing slightly from what was likely the residual pain of the abrupt teleportation.
"Eh? Ehhh?!!! W-Where is this? H-How did I get here? I was just in my room a moment ago!" exclaimed the bespectacled young man, his face etched with panic at the supernatural experience unfolding before him.
As a resident of Japan who didn't believe in the existence of gods and preferred a materialistic worldview, he found himself utterly shaken by the situation that was now shattering his beliefs. He could hardly comprehend what was happening and began convincing himself that this must all be just a dream.
Unfortunately, reality was far from what he had hoped for.
"No, you're not dreaming. You're awake, and this is your reality," Rozen said, as if reading the young man's thoughts.
Hearing those words, the bespectacled young man froze in place before quickly spinning around to face Rozen.
"W-who are you? And what's your purpose in bringing me here?" he asked, his face a mix of worry, fear, and caution that was evident in his eyes.
This guy… Interesting. Despite his fear, I can clearly see his body tense up. Looks like he's had some martial arts training.
The corners of Rozen's lips curled into a faint smirk, which only heightened the young man's wariness. Rozen noticed the reaction but chose to ignore it.
"First of all," Rozen began, "I brought you here because I invited you. Didn't you yourself accept that invitation?" His tone carried a trace of curiosity, though inwardly, he was starting to doubt the reliability of his system.
"Invitation?" The young man paused, his expression thoughtful. Then, as if remembering something, he continued, "Wait! I recall receiving an invitation in my shoe locker. I thought it was a love letter, so I took it home because I was too embarrassed to open it at school."
"..." Rozen was rendered speechless. With a sigh, he smacked his own face, confirming his suspicion—his system was indeed unreliable.
Stupid system! I assumed the invitation would be a proper formal one, not some cheap trick that forces anyone who opens it to participate! Ugh… this is giving me such a headache.
Rozen sighed deeply, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration. He glanced back at the young man, who was now staring at him expectantly, waiting for an explanation.
Offering a wry smile, Rozen finally said, "Sorry, it seems this is entirely my fault. You got dragged into this mess because of it."
"So, what now? Can you send me back home?" the young man asked, his voice calm but tinged with frustration. His question made Rozen inwardly groan.
"Sorry, but no."
"As expected…" The young man shook his head, surprising Rozen. He hadn't expected this stranger to remain so composed in such a situation.
While the two men were talking, one of the women nearby stirred, clutching her head in pain as she slowly regained consciousness.
"W-where am I…?" she murmured, her eyes scanning the unfamiliar surroundings in confusion. Then, all of a sudden, her body tensed, as if she had just realized something terrible.
Her hand reached out as if to grab something familiar, but all she felt was emptiness and the cold floor beneath her. Startled, the girl immediately jumped backward, her hands instinctively covering her big chest, causing an involuntary jiggle in the process.
"Who are you guys?! Don't even think about harassing me! I'm warning you—I'll kill you with all my strength if you try anything!" she yelled fiercely, her voice trembling with both fear and fury as she glared at the two men in the room.
"Huh?" The two men, who had been deep in conversation, froze in place, stunned by her outburst. Their eyes shifted toward the girl, now fully awake and clearly alarmed.
"I said back off! Did you hear me?!" she shouted again, her fiery glare making the men exchange uncertain glances. Both looked as if they were being unjustly accused.
"Ahem," Rozen cleared his throat, trying to defuse the situation. "Relax, young lady. We don't do anything like that here."
"'Don't do that here'? Oh, so you'd do it somewhere else, huh?" she shot back, her eyes blazing with unrelenting distrust.
*THUD!*
Rozen felt someone tug on his sleeve. Turning around, he found the bespectacled man beside him staring pointedly, his expression practically screaming, "You're not actually planning something like that, right? You pervert". Rozen's eyebrow twitched in irritation.
"I'm serious!" Rozen exclaimed, throwing up his hands in exasperation. "I didn't bring you here to do anything inappropriate! And if I had, why would I bring another guy along?!"
After a long, tired sigh, Rozen managed to get the words out, but the girl's expression softened only slightly. She nodded as if understanding, but then paused, her eyes narrowing again with renewed suspicion.
"Unless... you're one of those types. A pervert who's into both men and women?" The girl's voice dripped with disdain as her sharp gaze bore into Rozen. She scoffed, crossing her arms. "Hmph! You're disgusting. Trash. Hentai."
It felt like a lightning bolt struck him. Rozen froze, utterly speechless, before collapsing onto his knees, his hands braced against the ground.
I just got called a pervert and trash… by a beautiful girl… Damn it all!!! Damn it!!!!!
"Hahahahahaha!" The bespectacled man erupted in laughter, clutching his sides as if he couldn't stop himself. The sheer absurdity of the situation had caught him off guard, making him feel like he had stumbled into a scene ripped straight out of a comedy manga.
"And what's so funny?!" the girl barked, her sharp tone cutting through his laughter like a blade. She whirled on him, her glare a mix of fury and disdain. "You're probably in on this too! That makes you just as terrible as he is!"
It was as though lightning struck again, this time hitting the bespectacled man, who dropped to his knees beside Rozen, his posture a mirror of the defeated figure next to him.
"Guha!!! I got insulted too…" muttered the bespectacled young man, his expression clouded with sorrow.
"So, two perverted and disgusting men—can you tell me what your goal is now?" asked the girl, her curiosity apparently piqued by the situation.
Rozen, having shaken off his earlier melancholy, straightened his posture and responded confidently, "You, along with two others—the boy with glasses over there and the girl pretending to sleep—are now officially members of my organization. Ever since you accepted and opened that strange letter that came to you!"
The moment Rozen's words reached her ears, the pink-haired girl clad in a matching tracksuit began to tremble. Sweat instantly drenched her as panic overtook her entire body.
Ahhhh!!! I've been found out! Found out!!! It's over! Over! Over! Over!!!! My virginity is dooooomed!!! Ahhhhhhh!!!!
Overwhelmed by sheer terror, the pink-haired girl passed out on the spot, her head lolling back as if she had genuinely fallen asleep. Rozen, witnessing this sudden turn of events, could only stare, utterly speechless.
"Yup! There's no doubt about it," Rozen muttered to himself, nodding in affirmation. "She's definitely Bocchi. The hair, the outfit—it's a perfect match, just like in the anime."
Meanwhile, the other girl, who had been silently observing the scene, cast an odd glance at the unconscious Bocchi. Her gaze then shifted to Rozen, her brows furrowing as she tried to make sense of the strange revelation he had just delivered.
"How can you prove that this isn't just nonsense? And what kind of organization is this supposed to be?" the girl asked, distrust still evident in her eyes.
"As for my organization," Rozen began, "it's an organization dedicated to saving the Omniverse."
"Omniverse?" The girl tilted her head in confusion. Meanwhile, the bespectacled young man seemed to grasp a faint understanding, though traces of puzzlement lingered on his face.
"In simple terms," Rozen explained, "the Omniverse is a larger, limitless dimension encompassing countless Multiverses. Surely, you've at least heard of the concept of the Multiverse?"
"Multiverse… If I'm not mistaken, it's the idea of infinite universes coexisting in parallel dimensions, correct?" the bespectacled young man offered hesitantly while adjusting his glasses.
Rozen nodded. "Exactly. Now, the Omniverse contains an uncountable number of Multiverses. So, consider yourselves lucky—you're the most fortunate people in this Omniverse to have joined an organization like mine!" His tone brimmed with pride, though it did little to sway the skepticism on their faces.
"Impossible! That's completely absurd!" the young man exclaimed. "Even the existence of the Multiverse hasn't been proven! How can you confidently claim that your organization operates on the scale of an Omniverse?"
Rozen merely shrugged, a playful smile gracing his lips. "Then come with me," he said, gesturing for them to follow before turning on his heel and walking away without waiting to see if they obeyed.
Both the girl and the bespectacled youth hurried after him, their curiosity outweighing their doubts. As they walked, they took the opportunity to examine their surroundings more closely, their disbelief growing with every step. The place they found themselves in was unlike anything they had ever imagined—immensely luxurious and strikingly unique.
Before they could voice their questions, Rozen led them outside. The sight that greeted them left them utterly speechless.
"Oh my..."
"God..."
The words slipped from their lips, echoes of the same astonished reaction Rozen himself had when he first saw the view.
Rozen observed their awe with a knowing nod. It wasn't surprising—ordinary humans from less advanced civilizations were bound to react this way. In truth, even individuals from the most advanced societies would be equally stunned. After all, where else could you see "stars" that dwarfed entire universes in size within a single dimension?
Minutes passed before the duo could tear their eyes away from the mesmerizing sight. Though traces of amazement still lingered on their faces, they finally regained enough composure for Rozen to break the silence.
"Well? Do you believe me now?" he asked, a slight smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
The two exchanged a glance before nodding, their expressions a mix of awe and disbelief. "Yes… we believe you now."
"Hahaha, that's great! Well then, welcome to the Dimensional Guild. My name is Rozen Itsuki, the leader of this Guild. I look forward to working with you!" Rozen said with a warm smile on his face.
At the same time, curiosity began to creep into his mind.
Who exactly are these two? I didn't get a chance to check their profiles through the system earlier. Could they possibly be characters from a story I know?
Rozen's thoughts wandered as he observed the duo, anticipation gleaming in his eyes.
"Ah, it's a pleasure to meet you too! My name is Makoto Misumi. I look forward to working with you, Kaichou/President..." The bespectacled young man bowed politely, his tone calm yet respectful.
Rozen's eyes widened slightly.
Makoto Misumi?! No way, it's really him!
His mind raced as he tried to process this unexpected encounter.
Wait, what timeline is he in right now? From what he mentioned earlier, it seems like he hasn't been transported to the other world yet... He must've just gotten back from school and is still in his room.
His gaze shifted to the girl standing beside Makoto.
And this girl… Her dark purple hair cascaded gracefully, framing an alluring figure that could captivate any man's gaze. She carried herself with the refined elegance of a young lady, yet there was something about her presence—sharp and commanding—that stirred my instincts. A swordsman, perhaps? Her voice also sounded strangely familiar. Wait a second! Could she be…?! Raiden Me—
"Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Saeko Busujima. I look forward to working with you," the girl said, her voice calm yet commanding as she gave a polite bow.
Bruuh...
