Chapter 16: Chapter 16 Recovered Message
======================================================
A/N Hello everyone still reading, welcome to season 2 of Dragon Ball Odd Future. I'll be honest, I've been a bit nervous to write this next season because I want to make a story that somewhat makes sense within Dragon Ball that you can enjoy. I hope this next season gives what you all would want from a Dragon Ball fan-made story.
Oh and before I forget Question of the Day do you have a favorite moment from last season?

Special thanks to "thePianobird" for always commenting on the story. You're one of the reasons I decided to keep writing this story. <3
It was another peaceful morning in West City. The birds were singing, and new flowers were blooming, and back at Capsule Corp, Trunks is getting ready to start another day. Waking up inside of his room, Trunks starts his day with his morning workout routine. Finishing his workout, he brushes his teeth and takes a shower, then heads downstairs to get some breakfast.
He sees his mother had already made breakfast for the both of them. She notices him heading down and says, "Morning, Trunks. You're just in time; your meal is on the left. I also added some extras for you since you're going out on patrol today." Trunks takes a seat. "Thanks, Mom. What type of fish is this? I don't recognize it." Bulma answered, "Oh, that's just a special breed of tuna they were able to repopulate after a while. Try it; they're really good."
While the two enjoy their breakfast, the company phone rings. "No worries, I'll get it finished. Your meal, Trunks." Bulma heads over to the other room to answer as she leaves; Trunks quickly finishes the rest of his meal. His mother always told him as a kid about table etiquette, but he couldn't help it; his mother's cooking was too good.
After finishing the last of his dumplings, his mother comes back and says, "Ok, Trunks, some news. Capsule Corp got another meeting this evening with some benefactors in New Nicky Town. So try not to be out on patrol for too long because I want you to come with me." Trunks, a bit surprised to hear the news, says, "Nicky Town finally finished rebuilding? That's great, and sure, I won't be out long." Trunks puts on his Capsule Corp jacket as he gets ready to fly off. As he does, he hears his mother shout as he leaves. "Be safe. Love you." "Love you too, Mom," says Trunks as he heads off.
While Trunks is on patrol, Bulma decides with a bit of her free time to try to finish repairing one of the odd projectors held on the ship. She's been working on fixing the devices since they were recovered from the ship, but because of how foreign the technology was to her, she still had her struggles, but she loved the challenge.
She did her best to exercise caution and leave nothing out that looked too crucial to the overall repair of the device. One part after another was changed or fixed with care, and then the device suddenly produced a voice that said, "Testing, I repeat, testing; this should be working now." She instantly halted repairs to listen in on the worn sounding voice. Unfortunately, the visuals the device projected were still unclear, showing nothing but static.
My name is ———. I am a scientist for the planet of -----. This is my first ever entry. I've decided to make recordings of my future endeavors as notes to look back to for the future. I study cosmology, biology, ———, ———, ———, ———, biochemistry, and evolution. I am long since retired and spend most of my days using my drone ships to explore the outer reaches of space. Today I have come across something quite interesting.
A pink substance, imprisoned and locked in a jail that resembles a cylinder, was simply there, adrift in the immensity of space. Out of my own curiosity, I took control of one of my drones to collect it. I brought it back to my home world so I could examine it, learning more about what I discovered.
Of course I took necessary precautions when bringing it back; having an unknown matter, whatever it may be, should be handled with the utmost care to avoid any unnecessary casualties. After its safe arrival on the planet, I got to work studying it, and after a bit of research, I confirmed this: ——— is alive. I looked through some of my old books on rare life forms, searching to find if there was anything that matched the description. I couldn't find anything that was even similar.
I even tried seeing if libraries nearby had anything, but none of them could help me. I may need to do research off-planet if I want to learn more. Mental note: purchase a ship for further studies later on. Another discovery I've made from a light scan is that it has a unique genetic make-up. Its cells seem to have an extremely accelerated regeneration process. The creature seems to still be resting; it's been like this since I found it. I'm not in a hurry, so it may rest all it wants. I'll let it be until I can learn more about its origins.
This is Professor ———— signing out until I have made another update. The message concludes. Bulma, upon hearing the messages, thinks to herself, "Oh great, another scientist. I will record the message and send it over to Trunks. I am confident that he will see the messages at some point. I think I will work on another one for a bit, then I will take a break for the day. I have to prepare for the meeting in New Nicky Town. I just hope that the individual who received that message does not want to take over the world."
What future awaits planet Earth?
Will Bulma be able to decipher all these messages left behind?
Will Trunks be ready to defend against whatever threat may come earth's way?
Find out next time on Dragon Ball Odd Future.
