Dream a Nightmare

Chapter 4: An Answer with a Question

The new voice had come from directly behind Technoblade. All four of the Dreams immediately looked to try and find the source of the noise. Or, well, kind of. Mexican Dream was already looking in that direction, and he still seemed very relaxed. Actually, the girl Dream looked pretty relaxed too. But at least two of them did. Dream and the first other Dream began studying the place where the sound had seemed to come from.

"Boo!" shouted the voice. It came from behind the two Dreams. They both instantly jumped forward, rolled, and spun around to face the thing behind them, while attempting to draw their swords. Neither of them had one. It was an enderman. It was a very tall enderman. And it was laughing.

"Did you get that?" it asked, directing a question to no one in particular. Three affirmative answers came from around the room. It was Technoblade, Mexican Dream, and Ghostbur.

"Mexican Dream, you didn't need to record that," the girl Dream said.

"True, but it was pretty funny," Mexican Dream said.

"I suppose that's a good enough reason," the girl Dream said.

"Hold on," Dream said. "When did Ghostbur get here?"

"He came with me," the enderman said. Then it frowned. "Introductions. That's what we need. Nothing hidden."

As it said the last part, it stared hard at Technoblade. Endermen are supposed to not like eye contact, but Technoblade was the one not meeting his eyes.

"Yeah, I haven't been exactly honest," Technoblade said. All of the Dreams turned their attention to him.

"I am the blood god," Technoblade said.

"I know," three of the Dreams said. Mexican Dream didn't say anything.

"That's not what I mean," Technoblade said.

All of the Dreams started to say different things. All except for Mexican Dream. He was still silent. Then he stood up, and the rest of the Dreams fell silent. It was a rare moment when he was serious. As far as Dream knew, it had only happened once before.

He walked away from the girl Dream, and pulled out a stone sword. He took a deep breath, and cut himself.

Before Dream knew what he was doing, he had charged toward Technoblade, trying to get to him, and keep him down. He didn't have a real reason for doing it. But he did it anyways.

But Technoblade was too fast. He was already up, with a red glow in his eyes, and as Dream came near, he sunk a vicious punch right into his gut. Dream could no longer do anything except for stand there, stunned. He didn't see what happened behind him, but he heard, dimly, blows landing. Then he blacked out, and all was silence.
