Chapter 237: Chapter 237 Last minute inspection
With his transaction complete, Colin went over to find Lily and Alice. The groups were still being decided so he still had a bit of time before he had.
"Are you sure you don't want one of us to come with you? I mean, we know you are strong but that doesn't mean you are invincible." Alice said with worry etched in her voice
"I need to do this alone. I need to evolve into a tier 5 as quickly as possible in order for the rest of you to evolve. If I don't, the overall strength of the family will decrease." Colin said
"We understand what you are saying, but." Alice said while biting her lips
"Don't worry, he should be fine, as long as he doesn't do anything reckless." Lily said and looked at him. She had a feeling he wasn't going to heed her warning.
"More importantly, Lily, I want you to tell me how the fortification went yesterday." Colin asked
"It would be better if I showed you." Lily said and the three of them headed into the basement. They soon found the defensive array that she has drawn the previous day and it was still glowing a beautiful rainbow colour.
"Wow, I didn't think demonic energy could create something so beautiful." Alice said as she looked at the array.
"This is called a defensive array, at least, it's one of many such arrays. This one's function is to condense the ground so much that it makes attacks from underground impossible. As you can see, it pulls in demonic miasma from the air to continuously reinforce the ground." Lily explained while pointing at the array and Colin nodded his head. He understood what she said, but he was sure it was much more complicated than that.
"But this only protects against underground attacks, we will probably need a wall or something to protect the rest of the town. Wait, does this array only protect the underground of the hotel." Colin asked with his hand on his chin
"Of course, we don't have nearly enough resources to create an array big enough to protect this town. The amount of demonic energy needed, we would need at least a tier 6. But even then, I don't think that would be a good idea. If I remember correctly, then this array makes the ground so hard that plants can't grow on the affected soil, which is how we are able to protect ourselves from demonic plants in the underworld. But here, if we were to do that, you wouldn't be able to use those seeds that you got from that angel." Lily said and Colin thought for a moment
"Can you make them under individual buildings?" Colin asked
"Yes, but not frequently. It takes a large amount of energy to get this array started and I barely got it running with the members of your family. And before you ask, I can't use members with affinities different than earth or related affinities." Lily said
"Alright then, once I get back, we will begin constructing a wall, I'm not sure how long I'll be gone? So, in the meantime, you are incharge of the family Alice." Colin said
"Ill do my best." She replied and a system window popped up
[Colin Dunamis, [????], has transferred some of his authority to Alice.]
"I guess that makes it official." Colin said and Alice smiled.
"And before I go, I need you to hold onto this for me." Colin said and held out his hand causing a large white box, almost as tall as himself, appear on the ground.
"Isn't this?" Lily said and looked at the box hungrily
"Yes, but don't eat anything out of it. I need you, Alice, to hang onto it. I need as much space in my storage ring as possible. And you are the only one I trust with them." Colin said, looking over at Lily
"Ah, I'm offended." Lily said and turned her face away. Alice giggled before placing the box inside her storage ring. The three of them headed back to the courtyard and it seems that the groups have been decided. Paul picked werewolves for his group, as expected. Melissa chose a few Greater imps to go with her, which surprised Colin since he thought she would choose a few daimonis. The electronics team was already decided with the five leprechauns and six werewolves along with Bartus and his guild members. The survey team comprised of the four remaining Leprechauns and a few of the Daimonis.
'This doesn't look too bad, although I wished Paul would diversify his group a bit more.' Colin thought before walking over towards one of the leprechauns in the electronics group.
"I think you should have this. It might help you guys out." Colin said and summoned the soul crystal of the lightning bird.
